Avatar n tn My dog saw a holistic vet in January for a severe ear infection, before then he was able to walk (40 min.) twice a day. He took a whole course of Baytril right before his blood test was taken and a month ago he got some antibiotic eardrop efloxacin. The vet suspected that he might have arthritis and Cushings because he was urinating more often in the evenings, had a ravenous appetite and his blood test indicated high potassium level.
Avatar n tn what else can i take to reduces pain, swelling, and stiffness of the joints. when meloxicam is not working.I have been tested i don't have Arthritis .
Avatar m tn Hello. I've been having neck stiffness/feeling of tightness...on and off daily for the past month or so. This symptom accompanies my cloudy ear feeling and overall low energy. Maybe about a month and a half ago i started feeling this stiffness at times at work, I knew i was being overworked and stressed out. Once at work I was taken to the hospital because I felt like I was having an irregular heartbeat. Turns out they said I had slighly high blood pressure.
Avatar m tn In a University of North Carolina study, people who performed a tai chi program regularly for eight weeks saw significant improvements in arthritis pain, stiffness, and sleeplessness due to pain. Those who added a 60-minute routine twice a week improved their arthritis symptoms by 7 percent, and even better, reported noted psychological benefits such as an increased sense of well-being.
Avatar f tn It really does help. You hear that the dog has to have taken it for a few weeks for there to be any noticeable change, but I have found it can take effect quicker than that. To give you an idea of dosage, my dog weighs 28lbs and I give her 500mg Glucosamine, and 200mg Chondroitin daily. If his weight is twice hers, or approximately, you can give double that dose.
Avatar n tn I have heard many different things about glucosamine for dogs . That is is okay for your dogs, and also that it isn't. There can be many benefits to providing supplements for your dog. It can help them remain healthy and with that even happier. No one likes to deal with a grumpy dog. Can you tell me where I could find more information about glucosamine for dogs though?
Avatar f tn Thanks for your advice. I will look into the glucosamine etc and give it a try also.
Avatar f tn Hi, my neckpain and stiffness has increased dramatically lately. For those of you who have struggled with Babesia, do you find that this coinfection tends to cause more of the neck problems? I've been off Malarone for a little over a month (my babesia med) and am beginning to wonder if the babesia is coming back.
666921 tn?1254990618 how many of you have pretty bad stiffness - not joint pain as such just a feeling of immobility-siezing-up!!
1715412 tn?1308750906 I quite often get muscle spasm in my neck as well as stiffness. Use a bit of DicoflamD or Celebrex prescribed by GP. This time I experience stiffness from shoulder, neck across my head up to my forehead. Now and again a little headache across the head into the side of my face. My legs also at times feels wobbly. What could this be and should I seek medical attention. Blood pressure a little raised, more than usually, flushed face, a little off balance.
694961 tn?1228732588 vitamin c in large doses (buffered kind), msm, hyaluronic acid, and the combo of magnesium and B-1 (thiamin) can help relax muscles in the back, a little known but often effective avenue to try. i had one major success with that in someone with DDD. green-lipped mussel and all that shark cartilage is often the raw materials for glucosamine and is nothing special in my own opinion, but if it works use it.
429949 tn?1224691579 My numbness did start in my eyes and head and the symtoms have moved down to my neck. Not numbness but stiffness/pain in neck. The numnness in my eyes and head are almost completely gone and so is the neck pain/stiffness. But now I am having these strange tingleing and transient sensation changes in the backs of my calves and the sides of my forearms. This kind of seems like it is kind of going downward from my head toward my feet. Am I way off base here to suspect this condition?
Avatar f tn Small areas start to stiffen such as right behind my ear. Pain and stiffness then happen going into my neck and up into my head, tension, headache, eye pain, etc. I've also had inner ear tube, or Eustachian tube dysfunction which causes dizziness, ear fullness, etc. And honestly, some of what you describe sounds like it could be related to anxiety. Any of that sound plausible to you?
Avatar f tn I am looking for natural arthritis remedies for a 10 year old chihuahua. I read somewhere that blackstrap molasses works wonders for arthritis pain in dogs. I also heard of extra virgin coconut oil and apple cider vinegar. I am really tempted to mix all these and give it a try. Has anyone tried these? or are there any other natural remedies? My dog has been on metacam but it doesn't work very well, I can tell she is still in pain.
Avatar n tn Good results have also been reported with Lubramine. For me Glucosamine was a bit of a wonder pill regarding the hip stiffness. Recently though I have regretably deteriorated rapidly and developed new problems with my eyes in particular. But that's my problem, you may have a different outcome. Oh, and get tests for autoimmune activity too. Can't think of anything else right now. Others here with more knowledge and more clued up than me, just happened to pick up you post first.
161647 tn?1280608163 The only thing I can think of was that my mom started taking Glucosamine last year. Can the Glucosamine affect eye vision. Or does anyone have any suggestions. My mom is worried that there is something seriously wrong because the doctor said the next step is too see a retina specialist. Thanks for any advise.
Avatar m tn 5 pound schnauzer and has been limping a bit after exercise. I have started giving her 500 mg of glucosamine a day and wanted to know if this is the right dosage?
1110049 tn?1409402144 Yesterday I saw specialist at local hospital and told result of CT scan I had four weeks ago. I have been having pain in my hip/pelvis for nearly two years. Now told I have osteoarthritis in spine. Had no back pain, only the hip pain. Presume this is what is known as referred pain, but I must admit I am bemused. Does glucosamine or any other supplement help with arthritis in spine? I am 69 yrs old, so know it is due to wear and tear.
