Glucosamine chondroitin cream

Common Questions and Answers about Glucosamine chondroitin cream

Avatar m tn I am looking to treat trauma of the brachial tendon to treat pain during bicep workouts by using a glucosamine cream. I have heard anecdotally that the cream format increases bio-availability by a staggering amount and that the oral supplement is essentially a snake oil product. But I have also heard that there is no evidence to suggest the cream works any better. Thoughts?
Avatar n tn Dress really well in the winter and in cold climates. Reduce inflammation naturally by taking glucosamine/chondroitin/msm combo. Also boswella serrata extract is one of the best anti-inflammatory agents. These work better than ANY anti-inflammatory drug on the market, provided you allow enough time. It may take up to 3 months to experience notable improvement. Their action is slower than drugs, but more effective at the end and no known side-effects if taken as directed!
Avatar n tn Sometimes it is sold in combination with chondroitin, but chondroitin makes my dogs itch. Some dogs tolerate the chondroitin fine, but to be safe, I would first try straight glucosamine, maybe about 500 mg a day. Give it every day for a few weeks, and see if that helps. In the meantime, you can try an enteric coated low-dose aspirin tablet (80 mg like they sell for heart patients, but be sure you get the enteric coated), once a day with food.
Avatar n tn So, yes, less sun exposure can make your symptoms better in that case. If you aren't allergic to shellfish, try taking glucosamine chondroitin sulfate with MSM. It is good for arthritis. Fish oil is also good for arthritis and other things like cholesterol. Start tracking your symptoms and when they are worse and what you ate, your activities, sun exposure, etc. Migraines can be triggered by food, stress, hormones, and other things.
Avatar n tn It should include a MRI study too. Initially you can be started with analgesics and you can also apply Glucosamine and Chondroitin cream. Keep me informed if you have any queries. Bye.
Avatar m tn At age 10 degenerative joint diesease is a strong possibility, and if your dog is not on a Glucosamine and Chondroitin Supplement, than he should be. A NSAID (non steroidal anti inflammatory) may also be necessary if your dog's liver function is normal.
Avatar f tn Pain makes it difficult to exercise which makes it difficult to lose weight which ultimately causes more pain, nothing like a vicious circle to concentrate one's mind! I use glucosamine, chondroitin, cod liver oil and ensure my diet contains oily fish. TENS doesn't work, heat does work to a degree and so I try to utilise this as much as possible, hydrotherapy is beneficial (but not to the bank balance!) and I also use swimming as a method of controlling pain (though I do suffer afterwards).
Avatar f tn Only use it on those days of your cycle. I also take Glucosamine chondroitin with MSM which is great for arthritis. Don't take if you are allergic to shell fish. Liquid form is the best. I take Salmon oil capsules 2,000 mg daily. I hope this helps you.
1652468 tn?1302904098 Smoking interferes with blood flow to the tissues around the joints, increasing the destruction. Glucosamine-chondroitin sulfate these two supplements. A number of large-scale, double-blind clinical studies have demonstrated the ability of these supplements to alleviate pain and aid joint reconstruction. In fact, some arthritis experts say they should be a regular part of arthritis treatment.
Avatar n tn Topical analgesic therapy with methylsalicylate or capsaicin cream may be beneficial. Oral glucosamine sulfate (1500 mg) and chondroitin sulfate (1200 mg) taken daily are also helpful. Intra-articular injections of hyaluronic acid improve symptoms temporarily but typically need to be repeated periodically (about once every 6 months). Intra-articular injections of corticosteroid and anesthetic may also be helpful.
460185 tn?1326081372 I was concerned about arthritis, but since the Glucosamine/Chondroitin, she has not even had one twinge recurring, so I feel that is sufficient right now to give her that little extra support. Obviously if I saw any marked change or decline in her I would take her for stronger medication. But so far I do believe it is being kept at bay. The longer she can go like this, without having to take strong drugs, the better I think.
Avatar n tn Prop it up while she is sitting down, that keeps the blood flow steady. Glucosamine and chondroitin will help with her hips and arthritis, some pill forms also contain MSM, the pills are huge and hard to swallow and take about 4-6 weeks before you feel the effects. But I use the same supplement in a juice drink called "Elations", healthier joints. It doesn't taste bad and it works much quicker than the pill forms do.
Avatar n tn I am truly amazed by the results. I have tried many over the counter Glucosamine/Chondroitin formulas to no avail. My mobility is already significanty better, and best of all I do not feel exhausted from being in pain all the time. I do not know what helps with pain relief in this formula. But I am extremely thankful. I can't find Flexprotex in my local drug store. I found it at an online store after seeing the commercial.
182493 tn?1348056515 800 IB or 550mg of Naproxen 2 to 2 x daily (RX Perscription) (Good Vitamin Shop) Bottled (refrigerated Fish Oil, and Pressed Flaxseed Oil) they are all you essential fatty acids along with GLA which helps produce the good fatty tissues and fluid in your muscles and joints and... 1500mg Glucosamine / 1200 Chondroitin / 500-1000mg MSM My knees were so bad, that not even the 7.5 Hydro's would take any of the pain away.
Avatar f tn I know a lot of people take glucosomine chondroitin for arthritis and joint issues. I know a guy who was seriously crippled in his knees and ankles to the point he had to retire. He took it and in 3 months he said it was like he had no arthritis. He didn't limp anymore at all. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it. I had asked my doctor and surgeon about the GC but they told me that my hand was already too far gone.
Avatar m tn Its 'Glucosamine and chondroitin w/ MSM and Collagen'-natural mixed berry flavor, no sugar, low sodium. I get it at Costco, I get almost all my supplements there, b/c I trust their reserch and love their price. Many people don't do eggs b/c of food bourne infections and/or allergies. B/my partner is a gym rat and puts them in the blender. I didn't like his 'he-maN PROTEIN' POWDER,' that hairy chest thing and all. I settled on soy or rice protein powder.
Avatar n tn Topical analgesic therapy with methyl-salicyclate or capsaicin cream may be beneficial.
Avatar f tn I've had probalby about 6-7 cortisone injections since this pain began (they stopped working) and have taken months worth of vitamins glucosamine/chondroitin (sp?) but, again, no relief and they were expensive!!! I don't know what to do and I am getting very discouraged...these flares are becoming more and more frequent despite my best efforts to keep them at bay. But I am not sure how to approach my doctors (primary or ortho) about the idea of pain management.
Avatar f tn Treatment options include Conservative care, including rest, weight loss (when appropriate), physical therapy—including nonimpact exercises, such as swimming- acetaminophen, NSAIDs, heat modalities, activity modification, ambulatory aids, such as a cane, should be used. Topical analgesic therapy with methylsalicylate or capsaicin cream may be beneficial. Oral glucosamine sulfate (1500 mg) and chondroitin sulfate (1200 mg) taken daily are also helpful.
Avatar n tn My joint pain lately has gone down considerably, been using all natural supplements, seeming to do the trick... Glucosamine and Chondroitin, plus fish oil and other systemic enzymes that SUPPOSEDLY reduce the risk of inflamatory conditions such as swelling and coronary heart disease... Fellow blogger on internet turned me onto Jigsaw Health, great website, informative if nothing else... Here is a link to the Arthritis page:
753324 tn?1457822792 Your wallet and your dog would be better served by a more nutritious and cheaper commercial food with additional supplementation. A vet can help you determine the correct dose of glucosamine, chondroitin and/or MSM to promote better joint health. You can purchase these very cheaply at any grocery store or pharmacy that carries their own generic brand. An anti-inflammatory medication is essential with what sounds like hip displaysia.
Avatar n tn Another remedy if your pain is on your right side you can use ARNICA 30C if you can not wait in that case get the cream from your local drug store it’s over the counter remedy this cream you have to rub it at night before sleep ,but the best is to get cured from inside 30c liquid under the tongue 5 drops this way you attack the problem not superficially .
Avatar n tn Though I know it may not help some people, I take glucosamine and chondroitin, and tart-cherry powder in capsules. I found that those help with the crunchiness and make my joints feel a bit more slippery, which helps with the pain but I'm more concerned with preventing damage than preventing pain. Only 6 doctors for me thus far. I still have the bone scan to do but all blood work is normal.
Avatar n tn They'd sell plenty of it, and the manufacturers that made the highest quality and purest extracts could command premium prices - especially if there was a reliable independent certification agency overseeing enforceable standards of quality. My mom takes and benefits from Glucosamine Chondroitin shark cartilage extract (I think that's what's in it?). From what I've heard there are pretty reliable studies suggesting it really does help those with joint problems.
Avatar n tn Also, seeing as I'm looking for a career as a doctor, i've been doing some research and learnt itchy skins is due to dry skin so I suggest 'Double Base Gel' which is a good cream to reduce itchy skin. Also, its best to put it in a fridge as it will keep the cream cold and for people suffering from overheat, this will help aswel. I still suffer but hopefull it will go away. Hope this information has helped you.
Avatar n tn The first one is labeled MSM/Glucosamine, and contains 500 mg MSM and 500 mg d-Glucosamine Sulfate. The second one is labeled TriFlex and contains 1500 mg Glucosamine HCL, 1200 mg Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate, and 900 mg MSM. I take each pill once a day. I plan to do further tests to try to narrow down the specific substance(s) in these pills that are actually helping me, and I'll post the results. It's unlikely, of course, that these supplements will help everyone in the same way.
Avatar f tn On really sleepless nights, I added the melatonin or some valerian. Progest, a progesterone cream that I bought at the local health food store, helped improve my libido. DHEA, 25 mg, helped with the brain fuzziness. Tryptophan, called 5 HTP, 100 mg,helped improve my mood. B- 12, in the pill that dissolves under your tongue, helped with increasing my energy. Most all of this stuff can be bought at Walmart. Also, I found that my nails were breaking and splitting, so now I take biotin too.
