I have a pain in knees I am taking natural made triple flex glucosamine 1500 mg chondroitin 800mg and msn 750 mg. no other problem I go for check up regularly no any other problem every thing is good only pain in Knees also MRI done no problem found pain in knees and muscle pain in legs it's really hard to bend over.

I had the same question a while back, in the Spring. Misty had been showing a bit of possible arthritis in her right hind leg which was broken once. I asked the vet about this because I didn't want to pay premium prices for a "pet brand" Glucosamine, and he said Glucosamine is exactly the same substance, whether it's formulated in a preparation for dogs, or people. And Chondroitin is the same. I believe they are both natural substances obtained from shellfish.

It's OK to give "human" grade Glucosamine and Chondroitin to dogs. But you seriously need to watch out for any additives in the capsules or tablets. Artificial sweeteners, Xylitol, sugars, or any other additives, and I would say no -don't give them that stuff. Toxic for them. However, the basic Glucosamine/Chondroitin is EXACTLY the same substance whether for humans or dogs. The difference is -the price. My vet told me that.

I just recently started taking glucosamine and Chondroitin to help my knee recover from a dislocated patella. but for some reason my contact lenses have become very dry is that a side effect of the glucosamine??. Yes I am currently giving her 750 mg glucosamine + 600 mg chondroitin + 500 mg MSM, but it still doesn't seem to help. I am going to look into the adequan injections. Thank You so much!

t do any harm is to start her on Glucosamine and Chondroitin supplements. This really works, and is completely natural. (if the arthritis is not TOO bad, the Glucosamine/Chondroitin can work wonders) You could ask your vet's advice about this, and about the correct dosage (I would give her the maximum for her weight.) But ask advice first.

Do you take any supplements such at Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM? They work great for me. As long as I take them every single day. My bones/joints would get so back I could barely walk, and I could tell if it was going to rain anytime soon because they would hurt even more! The Glucosamine really helped! Also a good calcium supplement. If these thinks don't help over a few week period I'd talk to your Primary Dr. about other possibilities. Good luck, I hope this helped!

glucosamine, with vitamin c as the two work best together, and hyaluronic acid. some do get better results from chondroitin but it is not necessary, or shark cartilage. fish/flax oil will lube 'em up for you also. froobar, C.N.

For the arthritis conservative measures are weight loss, rest, ice, canes, bracing, physical therapy. etc. Also, nutrition supply should be considered, with chondroprotective agents (glucosamine & chondroitin phosphate, MSM, Omega-3). Glucosamine and chondroitin phosphate are unlikely to cause any drug to drug interactions with your other medications.

Something similar is a glucosamine/chondroitin combination. Again, be sure it's formulated for cats. In humans, both the avocado-soybean unsaponifiables approach and the glucosamine/chondroitin approach seem to have about equal effectiveness. While talking to the vet, also check about prednisolone is not being considered. It's a steroid and often given to dogs, maybe it's not done that much in cats? But it reduces inflammation.

Firstly you could start him on Glucosamine and Chondroitin supplement. It really does help. You hear that the dog has to have taken it for a few weeks for there to be any noticeable change, but I have found it can take effect quicker than that. To give you an idea of dosage, my dog weighs 28lbs and I give her 500mg Glucosamine, and 200mg Chondroitin daily. If his weight is twice hers, or approximately, you can give double that dose.

Glucosamine when taken for a minimum of 3 months as indicated should work well. I have studies that show it works better than most drugs. If you want to read them, I will look for them. My wife takes a combination supplement of MSM, chondroitin and glucosamine and has found it to be very effective. Apple cider vinegar, organic and unfiltered, has proven to be a great remedy for arthritis, as it improves PH balance-more alkaline- and increases digestive function.

Whoops - yes, Glucosamine with Chondroitin. There are some formulas that include MSM in them too.
