glucosamine

703858 tn?1274669802 Denyc, I have used emu oil only as a topical help. It works wonders with scars and things like that. I also have used it on my face for those little red veins that pop up on my chin and cheek - I cannot remember what they are called. I do remember that it can be used in a wide number of ways. I will try to find the name of the local lady that I get my emu oil from and send you her info. She knows everything and anything about that stuff.
Avatar f tn Emu oil is the most penetrating oil known to man. I'm currently using it. But even that won't guarantee you won't get stretch marks. Stretch marks are cause by a hormone your body produces while your pregnancy, going through puberty or weight gain and all situations your getting bigger so people associate stretch marks with skin stretching. They don't come from your skin stretching other wise your 3 year old would have tons of stretch mark lol.
Avatar m tn I was curious if anyone has used Emu Oil for Hypopigmentation scars and what results you have had? I would be using this in the genital area and have read that this oil can actually help bring back pigment in areas which have lost it. Thanks so much for any help!
Avatar f tn i know its like a joint pain reliever but it helped my terrible 2nd trimester headeahes! and i ve used it on my lower bk pain and even now i have pain in ribs and i rub it there too LOL!
Avatar m tn s fish oil with enhanced DHA and EPA (15 grams daily), megadose vitamin E, and megadose glucosamine+chondroitin+MSM daily for anti inflammatory effects for my joint and tendon problems. I am looking to treat trauma of the brachial tendon to treat pain during bicep workouts by using a glucosamine cream. I have heard anecdotally that the cream format increases bio-availability by a staggering amount and that the oral supplement is essentially a snake oil product.
Avatar n tn My husky is 13 years old. A few years back her arthritis was so bad she yelped just getting up to a sitting position. We took her to the vet and after having a few injections of anti inflamatories and pain shots she has since been taking vetprofin 100mg daily with food. This medication has made such an enormous transformation in her well being. Shes like a puppy!! Its been several years now, and shes still doing great! We added glucosamine to her daily regiment too.
Avatar m tn I have read that the MAP form of vitamin c is more stable and less irritating but what strength % and brand would be appropriate for penis skin? Also I read that emu oil helps to thicken skin, so would this be a better option? My derm didn't give me much specific advice to treat this as he thinks it's just dermatitis, so I would really appreciate some detailed answers from another real doctor!
Avatar n tn After checking with oncologist I continue to take Omega3 fish oil, Garlic tabs., Glucosamine and Ginkgo Biloba although on Tamoxifen. Although we have been afflicted with breast cancer we still have to think of the health of our body as a whole - always check though with a medic.
Avatar n tn i eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, exercise plenty, drink plenty of water and take multi-vitamins, glucosamine and cod liver oil daily. i am 25 years old and am not a vegetarian or vegan. what is likely to be the cause of this problem?
Avatar n tn s Bees resQ balm, Aquaphor ointment, and emu oil. A gentle cleanser and no acids til it heals. Anything to seal in some moisture while it eventually peels off. Also, get a good cream that has collagen and elastin in it, this will help to replace the vital nutrients that help with the wrinkes and saggnig. Hope this helps and try not to over do it next time.
Avatar m tn I have had a lot of pain too in the bottom of my feet for a few years, I have used emu oil for about 8 months and it does help me with the pain a lot, before the further I walked the pain was bad even when I sat down after my feet would kill me, my hands used to swell too and the emu oil stopped that too, just a thought plenty of info on the net about emu oil.
694961 tn?1228732588 vitamin c in large doses (buffered kind), msm, hyaluronic acid, and the combo of magnesium and B-1 (thiamin) can help relax muscles in the back, a little known but often effective avenue to try. i had one major success with that in someone with DDD. green-lipped mussel and all that shark cartilage is often the raw materials for glucosamine and is nothing special in my own opinion, but if it works use it.
441382 tn?1452810569 I had the same question a while back, in the Spring. Misty had been showing a bit of possible arthritis in her right hind leg which was broken once. I asked the vet about this because I didn't want to pay premium prices for a "pet brand" Glucosamine, and he said Glucosamine is exactly the same substance, whether it's formulated in a preparation for dogs, or people. And Chondroitin is the same. I believe they are both natural substances obtained from shellfish.
Avatar f tn I can not lay on my back :(. I tried blue emu oil & it was great but I looked online & someone else's doctor said no... I asked my doctor & all she will ever tell me is to watch my weight.... Watch weight for swelling, hip pain, and back pain. That doctor advise isn't too helpful lol.
558059 tn?1288550944 Are you using the right dosage? I give my dog (who weighs 28lbs) 500mg Glucosamine, and 200mg Chondrotin every day without fail. (So you could calculate the correct dosage for your dog's weight, from that.) In her case she had an intermittent limp in her right leg, which was a throwback from a broken leg about 6 years ago. As soon as I started her on the supplement, after about 5 days (!) I noticed she didn't limp anymore. And in 1 year, she hasn't done so since!
Avatar n tn What can be used to help repair skin that has suffered atrophy from the use of strong topical steroid creams? Or is it just something only time will heal? I've tried vitamin creams, emu oil, even Elidel with no real results! So then what really works?

Avatar f tn ve used it is called Blue Ease Cream and contains emu oil, MSM, aloe vera, capsicum, arnica extract (the list goes on). However last time I used it I ended up with a burning sensation everywhere I'd used it (including my hands) for over 12 hours. It says not to use if 'skin sensitivity' occurs so I should probably not continue with it. Anyone know which of the above list might be helping and which might be causing the burning, so I can find something else which might help?
Avatar n tn the past 3 months i have experienced uncomfortable tight, dry facial skin. Even using emu oil does not relieve it. My face feels like it is on fire but looks normal. Body skin is fine. Recently diagnosed w diabetes 2. i am thin and fit with heriditarily good causian skin of average texture. Very nice skin. antihistamines do not relieve. what could it be?
Avatar m tn organic virgin coconut oil. For more info go to the coconut research website Also avoid arthritis forming foods- fast food, sodas including diet, sugar, any sweets and breads, white flour, cakes, junk food, chips, candy bars, alcohol, etc. Hope this helps. Cheers!
Avatar n tn I haven't had this problem yet but my sister in law just gave me her leftovers from when she was pregnant. It's emu oil. She said she rubbed it on her feet ankles and calves to reduce swelling...
Avatar m tn I'm just trying to maintain the strength and integrity of my joints as I age. Besides the usual MSM related supplements, what seems to aid your joints?
Avatar f tn I ended up researching what I could do for them and found some information on the internet that I could perhaps try taking fish oil and glucosamine to help build up strength in my joints so I went out and bought a bottle of each. The glucosamine seemed to be okay although I did feel a little tired after taking it (i'm not sure if that's normal). The day I began taking the fish oil I noticed a really big change in the way I felt.
Avatar f tn cream (available at Walgreens, etc...or search on the web). Yeah, it really is made from Emu (bird) oil and MSM and other things, but really releived (varying time periods of relief) my mom's neuropathy in ther feet. Just my 2 cents...I'm actually off to buy some myself for a shoulder sprain!
