703858 tn?1274669802 Anyone know anything about internally taking emu oil for healing? Everyone has a suggestion of something that will help healing, but I've never heard of this one.
694961 tn?1228732588 vitamin c in large doses (buffered kind), msm, hyaluronic acid, and the combo of magnesium and B-1 (thiamin) can help relax muscles in the back, a little known but often effective avenue to try. i had one major success with that in someone with DDD. green-lipped mussel and all that shark cartilage is often the raw materials for glucosamine and is nothing special in my own opinion, but if it works use it.
Avatar m tn s fish oil with enhanced DHA and EPA (15 grams daily), megadose vitamin E, and megadose glucosamine+chondroitin+MSM daily for anti inflammatory effects for my joint and tendon problems. I am looking to treat trauma of the brachial tendon to treat pain during bicep workouts by using a glucosamine cream. I have heard anecdotally that the cream format increases bio-availability by a staggering amount and that the oral supplement is essentially a snake oil product.
1110049 tn?1409402144 antioxidants, apis melifica, ashwagandha, bee pollen, black cohash, boswellia, bromelain, cayenne, cell salts, evening primrose oil, feverfew, fish oil, flaxseed, ginger root, ledum, lycopdium, MSM, nettle, phytonutrients, pulsatilla, rhus toxicodendron, turmeric, vitamin C, Vitamin E" and staying away from foods that cause inflammation. Sorry the list is so long... I guess since we are all different, we would have to try different things to find what works for each individual.
Avatar m tn glucosamine, with vitamin c as the two work best together, and hyaluronic acid. some do get better results from chondroitin but it is not necessary, or shark cartilage. fish/flax oil will lube 'em up for you also. froobar, C.N.
Avatar n tn My husky is 13 years old. A few years back her arthritis was so bad she yelped just getting up to a sitting position. We took her to the vet and after having a few injections of anti inflamatories and pain shots she has since been taking vetprofin 100mg daily with food. This medication has made such an enormous transformation in her well being. Shes like a puppy!! Its been several years now, and shes still doing great! We added glucosamine to her daily regiment too.
Avatar f tn Yes I am currently giving her 750 mg glucosamine + 600 mg chondroitin + 500 mg MSM, but it still doesn't seem to help. I am going to look into the adequan injections. Thank You so much!
Avatar f tn The only thing I have been able to do to keep the inflamation down is applying a lotion that contains Glucosamine, MSM and Arnica made by NOW. It took a few weeks before I noticed a big difference. The reason being these ingredients take time to build up in your system and because they actually heal the areas to some degree it takes longer. I also have to watch my diet and stay clear of foods that I am allergic to that can cause inflamation.
Avatar f tn Hi. I have always been physically active and have never been overweight. There is no arthritis in my family and feel that for most of my life have eaten properly. I have arthritis in my hip.
Avatar m tn 21century, product: k9 maximum joint health). At my work (agriculture supplies) we have a formula for horses. 50ml dose Glucosamine is HCI (10,000mg) Chondroitin is shark cartilage (1,000mg) MSM (2,000mg) Boswellia (4,000mg) Yucca (500mg) a one liter bottle is $40 and would last almost a year at 750mg glucosamine doses. My question is can I use this for my dog, are the supplement ratios okay?
Avatar f tn Do you take any supplements such at Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM? They work great for me. As long as I take them every single day. My bones/joints would get so back I could barely walk, and I could tell if it was going to rain anytime soon because they would hurt even more! The Glucosamine really helped! Also a good calcium supplement. If these thinks don't help over a few week period I'd talk to your Primary Dr. about other possibilities. Good luck, I hope this helped!
Avatar m tn My dog weighed 28-30lbs and the correct dose for her was 500mg Glucosamine per day. The vet said the 'human' Glucosamine was fine to use, so long as the dosage was correct for the dog's weight. So it depends what your dog's weight is, how much you can increase the dose. As far as I can make out, dogs (and humans too) respond differently to Glucosamine. With some there are great results, and with some, not much improvement. You could mention this to your vet perhaps.
Avatar m tn I was curious if anyone has used Emu Oil for Hypopigmentation scars and what results you have had? I would be using this in the genital area and have read that this oil can actually help bring back pigment in areas which have lost it. Thanks so much for any help!
Avatar f tn MSM is an herbal remedy. Methylsulfonylmethane. It is for joint pain/support, but it also helps regrow hair and is good for asthma, arthritis, allergies and Fibromyalgia. Some people claim that it helps with headaches and heartburn. Doesn't help my heartburn - but does help me with the inflammation from Fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn Emu oil is the most penetrating oil known to man. I'm currently using it. But even that won't guarantee you won't get stretch marks. Stretch marks are cause by a hormone your body produces while your pregnancy, going through puberty or weight gain and all situations your getting bigger so people associate stretch marks with skin stretching. They don't come from your skin stretching other wise your 3 year old would have tons of stretch mark lol.
Avatar n tn Check into MSM, along with the glucosamine and hyaluronic acid. No chondroitin?
1388999 tn?1370042814 MSM is methylsulfonylmethane! Probably why it goes by msm lol! You can get it at drugstores in the supplement section, or in better pet shops. The human grade is the cheapest. You can give as a capsule or just dump it on the food. Hope it helps!
Avatar f tn I use blue-emu from Walgreen for all my pg pains! i know its like a joint pain reliever but it helped my terrible 2nd trimester headeahes! and i ve used it on my lower bk pain and even now i have pain in ribs and i rub it there too LOL!
Avatar n tn You should also ask your vet about proper dosages of over-the-counter glucosamine, chondroiting and/or MSM. You can find these supplements already mixed together at your pet store, but it tends to be a lot cheaper to buy them at a human pharmacy. These supplements are a very effective preventive at keeping your dog's joints in good shape for a longer period of time than if you didn't use them, and will hopefully keep a possible hip surgery from being necessary.
Avatar f tn ve used it is called Blue Ease Cream and contains emu oil, MSM, aloe vera, capsicum, arnica extract (the list goes on). However last time I used it I ended up with a burning sensation everywhere I'd used it (including my hands) for over 12 hours. It says not to use if 'skin sensitivity' occurs so I should probably not continue with it. Anyone know which of the above list might be helping and which might be causing the burning, so I can find something else which might help?
6579347 tn?1388502368 d be told to get by natural practitioners is some combination of something like MSM, glucosamine and chondroiton sulfate, ginger, turmeric, and other things. Proteolytic enzymes taken not near a meal can be helpful. A good all around product often tried first is Zyflamend by New Chapter if you don't want to take a bunch of herbs -- it does have green tea in it.
