Do you take any supplements such at Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM? They work great for me. As long as I take them every single day. My bones/joints would get so back I could barely walk, and I could tell if it was going to rain anytime soon because they would hurt even more! The Glucosamine really helped! Also a good calcium supplement. If these thinks don't help over a few week period I'd talk to your Primary Dr. about other possibilities. Good luck, I hope this helped!

The only thing I have been able to do to keep the inflamation down is applying a lotion that contains Glucosamine, MSM and Arnica made by NOW. It took a few weeks before I noticed a big difference. The reason being these ingredients take time to build up in your system and because they actually heal the areas to some degree it takes longer. I also have to watch my diet and stay clear of foods that I am allergic to that can cause inflamation.
I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something. It is much easier for her to take. I put her back on a food with glucosamine and she isnt having any problems. I learned my lesson about changing foods.

My dog weighed 28-30lbs and the correct dose for her was 500mg Glucosamine per day. The vet said the 'human' Glucosamine was fine to use, so long as the dosage was correct for the dog's weight.
So it depends what your dog's weight is, how much you can increase the dose.
As far as I can make out, dogs (and humans too) respond differently to Glucosamine. With some there are great results, and with some, not much improvement.

If the Baker's cyst is restricting movement it may need to be surgically corrected. For the arthritis conservative measures are weight loss, rest, ice, canes, bracing, physical therapy. etc. Also, nutrition supply should be considered, with chondroprotective agents (glucosamine & chondroitin phosphate, MSM, Omega-3). Glucosamine and chondroitin phosphate are unlikely to cause any drug to drug interactions with your other medications.

some do get better results from chondroitin but it is not necessary, or shark cartilage.

MSM is an herbal remedy. Methylsulfonylmethane. It is for joint pain/support, but it also helps regrow hair and is good for asthma, arthritis, allergies and Fibromyalgia. Some people claim that it helps with headaches and heartburn.
Doesn't help my heartburn - but does help me with the inflammation from Fibromyalgia.
I occasionally have leg cramps in the middle of the night. I'm a land Surveyor, and walk an average of 1-2 miles a day, some days as much as 5 miles. This 5 to 6 days a week for the 35 years. My leg cramps occur NOT necessarily when I walk a lot. And not necessarily when I don't. They don't occur with any particular weather condition. I take 2 Potassium in the morning and 2 in the evening. I take other vitamins also, C; Glucosamine. Chondroitin & MSM; Ginkgo Biloba.
t have rheumatoid arthritis. At any rate, there are so many remedies for joint inflammation -- MSM, chondroiton and glucosamine sulfate, proteolytic enzymes such as bromelain, quercitin, vitamin C, ginger, turmeric, boswellia, devil's claw, yucca -- I mean, the list is very long. Perhaps the best thing is to buy a good book on natural treatment of this problem since there are so many combinations of options to choose from.
