Common Questions and Answers about Liquid glucosamine vs pills

glucosamine

Avatar n tn I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something. It is much easier for her to take. I put her back on a food with glucosamine and she isnt having any problems. I learned my lesson about changing foods.
638291 tn?1233060603 I would like to find out if it's ok to take liquid collagen and what are the benefits Than you
1093971 tn?1257833640 Not all glucosamine products are created equal. In order to best evaluate a product, you need to consider several things. When your healthcare and joint discomfort is at stake, take a moment and consider these criteria: What form is the glucosamine in? What is the total daily dose? Are there any other ingredients? What type is the glucosamine? How pure are the ingredients? If you’re considering taking glucosamine with chondroitin you have another ballgame.
907968 tn?1292622204 I've been told to take 2000mg x2/day fish oil. I bought a bottle of 1200mg pills. Don't know if this makes a difference or not, this is "Nature Made" liquid softgels and they are HUGE!! Wish I seen this before I bought them... Anybody know of any of these fish oil pills that are not as big? Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn Shots are 1000 mcg. Sublingual or liquid, typically, works better than pills. Look for methylcobalamin vs cyanocobalamin.
Avatar f tn Will my 12 year old yellow lab/siberian die because he ate 12 tabs Glucosamine Chondroitin for dogs from Trader Joes, 250 m g ea??
441382 tn?1452810569 I had the same question a while back, in the Spring. Misty had been showing a bit of possible arthritis in her right hind leg which was broken once. I asked the vet about this because I didn't want to pay premium prices for a "pet brand" Glucosamine, and he said Glucosamine is exactly the same substance, whether it's formulated in a preparation for dogs, or people. And Chondroitin is the same. I believe they are both natural substances obtained from shellfish.
675347 tn?1365460645 s very hard for her to get up on things anymore and get up the stairs. I have 1500 mg glucosamine and 1200 mg conjoint and pills. I would like to start giving it to her but I don't know how much is safe. Should I do one 1500 mg pill two times a day? Or 1500 mg pill once a day? I'd like to start giving it to her in the morning. I can't seem to find much information online.
Avatar f tn Firstly you could start him on Glucosamine and Chondroitin supplement. It really does help. You hear that the dog has to have taken it for a few weeks for there to be any noticeable change, but I have found it can take effect quicker than that. To give you an idea of dosage, my dog weighs 28lbs and I give her 500mg Glucosamine, and 200mg Chondroitin daily. If his weight is twice hers, or approximately, you can give double that dose.
Avatar n tn I just bought Osteo Bi-Flex with 5-Loxin advanced (Glucosamine, Chrondroitin, MSM, AKBA complex) at Walmart for my dogs. One dog weighs about 120lbs, and the other weighs about 65lbs. I need direction in knowing how many caplets to give to each of them daily. Very grateful.
2121656 tn?1395674749 I would also put her on a glucosamine and chondroitin supplement. Even if she is only mildly arthritic this will help her. It works by rebuilding the cartilage that is eaten away by arthritis. It works pretty quickly, too. You might see some results as soon as two weeks after beginning treatment and usually by the time you are 30 days into treatment you will see a significant difference in her behavior with regard to showing signs of pain. Please keep us updated on how she is doing.
Avatar f tn Ive been using them sense 23 weeks im now 34 I started with the progesterone suppositories but they made me really sore and itcy down there so switched me to the shot once a week I will tell u if the suppositories do the same to u dont mention it because the shot is hell it is one of the worst shots given nurse had worn me the liquid that goes in is so think its like liquid rubber so it really hurts super thick stuff and once a week is just horrible.
Avatar f tn There are a number of possible reasons for this to happen, though really only a doctor can diagnose you. I would look into taking glucosamine pills for now to help with joint pain and see if it helps at all. I'd make another doctor's appointment to get your hand looked at and see what they say. It could be from a genetic condition, from trauma, or from a malformation in growth, among some other possible reasons. I hope you can get some answers soon.
6669309 tn?1462648142 Arthritis is very common in older dogs and the longer dogs live the more common it is becoming. Nutritional supplements Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate are two substances that have fast become the standard treatment in canine age-related arthritis. These are often sold as a single combined substance in good pet shops and quality supermarkets. Alternatively, just look up "Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate for dogs" on Google and you should find a supplier.
Avatar f tn Im having pain in the L4 L5 area in my spine. It hurts to walk. Would glucosamine chondroitin help with the oain ? If so, how much do I take? What is the dosage amount ?
Avatar n tn t tried it myself yet, only because I HATE taking pills, but have heard a few success stories about Glucosamine and Chondroitin. Another thing you can do is start physical therapy. Strengthening the muscles and tendons around the joints helps to slow the degenerative changes.
6109773 tn?1381071043 Hi friends! I'm so tired today. No energy. I think that I did too much this weekend? It was a great weekend but, I'm definitely paying the price. When will I get my energy back? It's like, I have no motivation today. But, I'd rather take the " no energy" vs. being chained to pills any day.
Avatar n tn m taking Ameriden Olive Leaf Extract - 6 caps a day, I was instructed to take only this brand. Plus Glucosamine 1500mg 3 X a day and hyaluronic acid (cushions joint) 100mg 3X a day. It'a lot of pills but would rather do that than take drugs with bad side-effects (had really bad reaction to Celebrex). You can go to the website Arthritis Help For Me ******* for more info. I am trying to follow an alkaline pH diet as much as poss - but it's not easy, do drink alkaline water tho'.
Avatar m tn 5 pound schnauzer and has been limping a bit after exercise. I have started giving her 500 mg of glucosamine a day and wanted to know if this is the right dosage?

8120829 tn?1408722859 People have seemed to report that due to the liquid nature of Tirosint that it is indeed better absorbed. Which can mean that someone who was on the threshold of being hyper on poweder based pills with lower absorption, will get increased thyroid into their blood stream with Tirosint which could send them over the cliff and into Hyper. Typically people end up on Tirosint because they have ad adverse reactions to the fillers and binders in powedered based T4 medications.
