Avatar f tn ICD may be not treating Long QT but pacemaker would. My cardio told me as far as my pacemaker works, it cover everything in my heart. My holter monitor showed my QTc 675 and they said "normal". I got a pacemaker and it is nothing to be worry about. I only on Glipizide 2.5mg (diabetes) twice a day while I had my holter on.
Avatar n tn I'm a novice when it comes to diabetes so I could use some help. I'm on 2.5mg of Glipizide and have been for about four years. My doctor discourages blood glucose testings -- says that's only necessary if I were on insulin. However, I will occasionally check my blood sugar -- maybe once or twice a month or if I'm not feeling well. I checked it on Sunday and found it was running somewhat high.

Avatar f tn Hi, I recently went on glipizide after a very bad reaction to victoza. I was losing weight, but now the glipizide is keeping me at the same weight. Has anyone had the experience that is the same? and is there a lower does that anyone has still been able to lose weight with? and yes I'm on a low carb diet and excercise plan. I'm doing better with this than I did before and I lost 33 pounds. It's the glipizide.
647391 tn?1275016633 "Do you take Glipizide once a day? " Yes, usually around 5-6am. I eat breakfast 30-45 minutes later. "If so, what is your blood sugars at the end of day." <120 mg/dl "I think the glipizide helps, but doesn't last the day." Don't rely on medications to do all the work for you. There there to 'help' you. Do you exercise and break sweat for 60 minutes daily? Are you at normal body weight? Are you eating a proper diabetic diet?
Avatar n tn I also take 500mg metformin after a meal(breakfast and dinner) and was advised to take 5mg glipizide before meals (breakfast and lunch) but sometimes I measure my bs before and notice it's sometimes 70-90 . No snacks. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Avatar m tn My son is just 7 and was diagnosed with just ADHD a few months ago. We have just done a trial of Equasym xl. The 20mg was definately too strong as it made him extremely emotional and all over the place. On the 10mg emotionally he was ok, but he was having problems getting to sleep - usually he's asleep by 8.15pm, but on the days of the medication it was nearer 10pm.

Avatar m tn You mention breathlessness but believe me, without this drug you will feel vrery uncomfortable and be gasping for air. Taking its half life, 2.5mg lasts just over 24 hours and I forgot to take my pill one morning. In just 2 hours I was panting like a horse just finished a race and felt terrible. Within 20 minutes of taking the medication I felt comforable again. When being held back by a strong beta blocker, keeping fit is quite difficult.
Avatar m tn I was recently diagnosed with congestive heart failure after a brief stay in the hospital (admitted from the ER with chest pains). I was given several tests, including an echocardiogram and a nuclear stress test.
Avatar n tn Effient-10mg, Zestril-2.5mg bid, Zetia-10mg, Lovaza-2g bid, along with those I already take which are: Toprol XL-50mg, Crestor-40mg, Zantac-150mg, and Aspirin-325mg. Now, it's been almost a week since my procedure and beginning the new meds. I have had an increasingly severe headache and dizziness on standing since I got home from the procedure with hot flashes, night sweats and also a low-grade fever last night. Could my symptoms be a result of one of the medicines or combinations?
2053416 tn?1330411192 I also take glipizide. The gulmetza does not seem to be working for me. My sugars are in the 200 + - range. Is there another generation 1 or 2 diabetes medicine that I can take with the glipizide that will work as good as the actos did and not cost so much? I would like to get off the glumetza. I am really thinking about asking the doctor to put me back on insulin (novolin R). Thank you for your input.

Avatar f tn 25mg to 2.5mg. A week later my symptoms were no different. Now, doubling a dosage should tell you that if there is no difference, it isn't working, but he said up the dosage to 5mg. The following day I was in hospital with a pulse of 30bpm and when I slept, it dropped to 23-25bpm setting off all the alarms. I felt terrible, chest pains and shortness of breath at rest and lots of headaches. I refused to let that cardiologist anywhere near me again, so they had to find me someone else.
Avatar f tn He has been experiencing muscle twitching for a month now so his doctor took him down to 2.5mg of abilify and them completly off the end of last week. He is still noticably twitching in his upper body and face. Could the deplin be causing this or does it just take a while for the ability to get out of his system. Do you think the twitching will go away? I would hate for him to carry this through his whole life. He's only a teenager.
