I have pcos and have been taking metformin clomid and provera prescribed by my doctor. Ive been on the drugs for three months but still no sign of pregnancy.

I have been told the number one cause is PCOS and number 2 is endometriosis. I have been on metformin for three weeks now.. can this help with the rupturing of the folllicles? ( LUFS?) since it helps control the number one cause of this in the first place? THank you so very much for your time!

I also started taking birth control again. My doctor also prescribed taking metformin(glucophage) in addition to the phentermine and birth control. I have lost about 8 pounds in the last month since taking the phentermine but i dont feel like I am losing enough weight for how little i have been eating.

i am on metformin 500 mg 3X and on clomid 100mg cd2-cd6 for 4 months. I really don't have that much side effect with metformin so my gyn told me to contuinue. I heard many PCOS women got pregnant with the combination og clomid and metformin. But i haven't got that luck yet.I also somtimes get tensed whether i would b able to get pregnant. Listen don get scared go to your gyn and talk to him/her ad ask for advice. Oh 1 thing more r u overwight? i am 155lb.

clomid,metformin and levothyroxine ( For PCOS and Thyroid problems). I have never taken clomid and metformin together before. So I was wondering whether this combination may cause PMS symptoms like sore breasts.

I have had Type 2 diabetes since October 07. I was put on Amaryl then and now am also on Metformin. I have since gained almost 5-8 pounds. Is this normal? I can't find this listed as a side effect in the drug info. I am about 20 pounds overweight and have been trying to lose that to help with the diabetes. I have a healthy diet and try to exercise as much as I can. I also have Crohn's disease (which may have contributed to the onset of diabetes), so heavy exercise is out for me.

I was seing an OB and they started me on metformin for a few months than we moved to clomid and metformin. After that wasnt working and trying for a 5 months they couldnt do anything else for me so I started to see an RE and he gave me my options we choice IVF and we are not 3 months pregnant! :) It is very possible you just need the right combination of drugs that work for you. As long as you dont give up and you try different things you will become pregnant!

Pcos is very common, and usually responds quite nicely to fertility medications. From the studies I have seen recently, it appears that a combination of Metformin and Clomid or Femara produces the best results. Adding the IUI increases you chances as well. Good luck!

I have been a diabetic since 1995, I have always taken Metformin as as of Monday my Doctor has told me that I have Chronic Kidney Disease and told to stop taking the Metformin. So how and what is my next course of action? I read on the web that I could control it by losing some weight and changing my diet. Any thoughts?

I'm sorry I don't know how the metformin and birth control do together but I also have PCOS and am on metformin. I haven't been on the metformin too long yet but I definitely think it helps. I have found that with PCOS though the only way I have been able to lose any weight is in cutting carbs. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

I have two children that he calls Metformin babies. Once I became pregnant I had to go off of the Metformin while I was pregnant. I was considered a high risk and I needed to be on a diabetic diet while pregnant. After the babies were born I went back on the metformin. My children are now 8 and 9. As far as I know, this medication is the best help for PCOS. The fertility doctor wanted me to go on birth control every other month. To me, that is just not a good solution.
