I was hoping someone might be able to tell me if they have experienced food sensitivity and severe gastrointestinal problems on the metformin, and if these symptoms can be dose dependent. If it is the metformin, I was hoping I could tolerate a lower dose rather than stop it entirely. Thanks so much for any info.

I have been put on metformin hydrochloride 500 twice a day to decrease sugar levels. hernia op delayed because of this. diabetic type 2 and had always controlled by diet but sugar count creeping in the mornings so told dr who issued prescription. have been on just over 2 weeks yet morning tests show very little decrease 7.2 to 8.00. Told to wait 6 weeks for reconsideration on op. I know when they do blood test some sort of average is established so just morning count not all that is relevant. ?

recently i have noticed that when i eat a meal, i get a unbielavable tiredness and then am hit with nauesa reallllly bad..this can last for about 20mins, then it clears and my pancreas seems to swell up and i get an incredibly dry mouth and am thirsty..please help as i have just experinced this and became aware of what happens after an attack..

Hey, I have been taking the generic fluoxetine hydrochloride 10 mgs tablets for about 1.5 years now. My pharmacy recently changed manufacturers and the tablets are now blue... I do NOT tolerate these tablets as well and have also tried the 10mg capsules with the same effects (less effective more side effects- nausea, dizziness, fat face, racing thoughts, decreased libido, nightmares, sleep disturbances, etc.).. I have called several pharmacies but they all have the blue tablets too -_-...

Till 12 weeks my doctor asked me to use metformin 500mg ,duphaston(progestrone tablets)and ecosprin 75mg and folic acid 400mg till 12 weeks.Now I stopped metformin and ecosprin.Now I am on folic acid and iron,calcium tablets only. My question is I stopped ecosprin and metformin and duphaston(progestrone).Is it Ok? My doctor told that these tablets enough till 12 weeks. I am worried please help me.

well we have been trying to get preggers again so i went to go see my obgyn and he gives me these pills called metformin 850 mg tablets,,he tells me i will get pregnant within the next 3 months,,i have not takin them because i have been doing research and im reading things like dont take if your pregnant or plan to become pregnant,.and these pills are usually giving to ppl with diabetes or with pcos,,which i have none of those,.

It is not unreasonable to take two 1000 mg Metformin tablets a day, provided you get regular liver function testing. Or three 500 mg tablets. But you should not do so blindly.
