1166767 tn?1315427171 d be ok for you to take Duet DHA instead of Gesticare DHA. Those are the ones I take and they are great. They even have a generic which of course has the excat same thing for only $5.00. It is also prescription. You don't have to pay that much for your vitamins :) Good Luck!
1109996 tn?1267012897 My doctor first prescribed me with Gesticare DHA and the copay was $50 a mth which i also thought was high. I was gonna go with OTC but after speaking to the pharmacist she said with me being so early (I was 5 wks) the babys brain/heart and all imprtant organs are forming and she reccommend me to call my doctor and ask for a different script. I did that and she then prescribed Duet DHA when I went to pick it up the doctor filled the generic which was only $7.. Big difference...
Avatar f tn They habe adequate folic acid and dha. They are almost always buy one get one free. I tried to take dr prescribed ones but they made me sick. My dr looked over the ones i take and said that they were just as good. I take 2 a day as directed on the bottle.
Avatar f tn I got a lotta samples from my ob and I bought nature made prenatal milti +DHA they come in a 30 60 and 90 day supply.
668044 tn?1225913014 I take One A Day Prenatal with DHA/EPA. The box (for $13) comes with one bottle of 30 prenatals and a bottle of 30 DHA/EPA pills. I have been taking them together through my pregnancy. My OB recommended them if the ones she prescribed didn't work out (they gave me a stomach ache so I went with One A Day). I have heard nothing but good things! I recommend them!
Avatar f tn I'm taking the prescription vitafol-ob+dha which is $55 and I was taking bellybar before and during the earlier part of pregnancy which has almost 2x the amount of vitamins but no dha for $13 is it safe to switch back? Is there something else that I am overlooking?
Avatar f tn I am constipated. The nurse told me to switch to Flintstones Complete. I noticed not all the vitamin levels are where they should be. I'm concerned about this. Has anyone else taken Flintstone Vitamin during their pregnancy? Thank You!
Avatar m tn I took the gummy prenatal in my first trimester and switched to the Flintstones complete multi vitamin (the one that says complete DOES have iron) and has everything a prenatal vitamin has.. I compared them side by side. You just have to take 1.5 or 2 instead of 1.
Avatar f tn The FDA says that it is safer to have DHA from a non fish source. I say the DHA is straight from the fish and not good to take! I would not take it or stop. I take the one Enfimil makes and it is I think $11 a month from Walmart and it is from a none fish source. I would tell your ob you wnat another one if you don't want that one!
Avatar f tn You can take as fancy or basic prenatals as you want. I just take walmart's generic brand. My ob said it's good enough. A lot cheaper than some of the other ones that include extra junk. My ob said as long as you're eating a varied and balanced diet there's no reason to pile on that extra stuff (like DHA, ect.) But it's totally up to you.
1047147 tn?1328906154 My RE prescribed prenatal vitamins, Vital-OB+DHA Im sorry but i was paying 32.00 for them the first 3 months, now i went and got my 4th months supply $70.00.. I want the best but c'mon thats expensive enough with my fertility medicines.. Does anyone know of a cheaper brand I could tell my RE to prescribe me that good also?
Avatar m tn Rainbow light complete prenatal & Nordic Naturals Prenatal dha!
Avatar f tn They're all good. Ask the pharmacist which they recommend. I take the cheaper brand, and it's just as good as the more expensive one. Some women find the prenatal pills make them feel sick, so you might have to experiment with which ones work best for you. In addition to my prenatals, I take Omega3 too, because I'm not eating all that much fish right now.
Avatar f tn m in the same exact boat as you but I got some from my doctors (my ob) but my friend who just had a baby said that she used over the counter ones and they were chewable ones
Avatar f tn I cant take them for some reason, I always get sick within an hour or so. My OB said it was ok to take 2 flintsone complete vitamins a day. So far she is growing like crazy.
Avatar m tn Levels used in therapy to lower blood triglycerides, also a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, are higher, about 2-4 grams of combined EPA and DHA per day. The OSU studies with mice used DHA at levels comparable to the triglyceride therapies. "DHA was more effective than EPA at attenuating inflammation, oxidative stress, fibrosis and hepatic damage," the researchers wrote in their conclusion.
Business woman1 Hi! If you were my patient, I would recommend seeing a fertility specialist now. I would NOT use DHEA (without a doctor's supervision) and I WOULD encourage DHA. A fertility specialist should check to see if you are ovulating regularly, if your tubes are open and if your partner has sufficient sperm/quality. Don't wait, your fertility is not getting better!
Avatar f tn Gummy prenatal with folic and dha from Walmart
Avatar f tn My doctor is big on dha. I take preferaOB ONE they have pre/post-natal Nutritional Supplement+DHA they're pretty good but its prescribed without insure they cost $123.00 :/. They also sell milk with DHA its pretty good but expensive.
566175 tn?1278430472 I am looking for a good prenatal, with DHA and a stool softener. I am interested in hearing what all you girls take and any feedback. Thanks!
1492421 tn?1290300515 I would take a complete prenatal. In addition to folic acid, they have higher daily values of all the vitamins you need for a healthy pregnancy than regular multivitamins.
Avatar f tn I started taking nature made prenatal with dha. My ob said to keep taking it, it was just as good as what she would have given me. I think the gummies don't have iron, and if you are a veg you are probably already gonna be low on iron, so you should probably take a prenatal with iron if you can stomach it. Try taking them before bed to reduce any stomach issues if you are sensitive. The prenatals are important since they have vitamins and dosages specifically for pregnancy.
Avatar f tn What are your thoughts on taking fish oil or dha supplements through the third trimester for brain development? I'm thinking of doing it, I need to speak with my OB first, but I want some opinions :) Thanks!
Avatar n tn My Asthma Dr. said that he would consider changing from Lipitor 5 mg to Crestor (dosage not yet mentioned) after 1 more blood test. 3 years ago another dr. suggested a change, but cardiologist said no need to. Another Dr. (forum) suggested using, in addition to Fish oil for tri-glycerides, niacin. And he said statin users should take CO-enzyme Q 300 mg.
Avatar f tn Regular flintstones left a metal like taste in my mouth and made me sick to my stomach so my ob told me to start taking the chewable gummy flintstones. Luckily those stayed down!
