Dha vs dhea

Common Questions and Answers about Dha vs dhea

dha

Business woman1 Hi! If you were my patient, I would recommend seeing a fertility specialist now. I would NOT use DHEA (without a doctor's supervision) and I WOULD encourage DHA. A fertility specialist should check to see if you are ovulating regularly, if your tubes are open and if your partner has sufficient sperm/quality. Don't wait, your fertility is not getting better!
178239 tn?1277405491 I have taken a serious interest in DHEA. The results on aging ovaries and FSH levels have been amazing. I found a good link with other links on it's page. I think the most impressive is the # of older women waiting for an IVF cycle that became spontaneously pg while taking DHEA waiting for their IVF. It also decreases the # of chromosonal abnormalities. Good reading for those who are interested. http://www.preciousbabyangels.com/page/page/2531047.
Avatar f tn It comes with one prenatal and one gel dha pill. my advice nurse told me to stop taking the one with dha. Any suggestions why she Di does not want me taking it??
Avatar f tn This is from the Mayo Clinic website: "There is sufficient evidence supporting the use of DHEA in the treatment of adrenal insufficiency, depression, induction of labor, and systemic lupus erythematosus. No studies on the long-term effects of DHEA have been conducted. DHEA can cause higher than normal levels of androgens and estrogens in the body, and theoretically may increase the risk of prostate, breast, ovarian, and other hormone-sensitive cancers.
Avatar m tn listen to your regular doctor, of course you can get pregnant but it will take abit more time and alot more effort, you should keep up with the acupuncture for at least 3 months, also taking vitex will lower your fsh levels along with spirulina, for egg health you should start taking royal jelly, fish oil with dha, coq10, for general health and egg health, maca and either spirulina of vital greens, for cervical mucus, evening primrose oil from c/d 1 until ovulation, then swap to flax seed oil, a
584502 tn?1224120312 I take DHEA supplements because my DHEA-S test came back low, so I don't stop and I take 25 mg/day. Are you taking it under Drs' orders?
1192727 tn?1282735542 It is found in cold water fatty fish and fish oil supplements, along with eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Vegetarian sources of DHA come from seaweed. DHA is essential for the proper functioning of our brains as adults, and for the development of our nervous system and visual abilities during the first 6 months of life. In addition, omega-3 fatty acids are part of a healthy diet that helps lower risk of heart disease.
178239 tn?1277405491 I posted this on the fertility forum yesterday and thought a lot of ladies over her might be interested, too. I decided even though my FSH is still good at 7, I am going to try the DHEA route. I have talked to many ladies that have had terrific results with it. Most buy theirs at DHEA *******. There is a difference between pharmacy grade vs vitamin stores from what I have been told. Yesterday's post follows: I have taken a serious interest in DHEA.
Avatar m tn Levels used in therapy to lower blood triglycerides, also a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, are higher, about 2-4 grams of combined EPA and DHA per day. The OSU studies with mice used DHA at levels comparable to the triglyceride therapies. "DHA was more effective than EPA at attenuating inflammation, oxidative stress, fibrosis and hepatic damage," the researchers wrote in their conclusion.
Avatar f tn I would make sure you have at least DHEA, testosterone, and estrogen checked. Reason being, DHEA is a precursor to testosterone and estrogen, so you have to be careful not to be taking it unless you're deficient in those hormones. (Being in the bottom half of the normal range IS considered deficient by many practitioners. It's optimal to be in the top half of the normal range.) Good luck!
Avatar f tn I don't have experience with it but have also been looking into it because I have borderline ovarian reserve. Someone recommended that I should get E2, DHEA and testosterone tested before taking DHEA though, said it shouldn't be taken unless you are deficient in those hormones. I have an appt with my RE tomorrow and am going to ask him about it as well. Please let me know if you find anything else out!
Avatar f tn t remember where I read it, but a fertility clinic did a study on IVF patients who were taking dhea vs. ones who were not. The ones who were taking 75mg of dhea had a hugely higher success rate with IVF than patients who did not take dhea. I've been taking it for about 2 1/2 months now (only 25mg) and haven't noticed anything different. I'm still not ovulating, so I just recently upped the dose to 50mg.
Avatar n tn My Asthma Dr. said that he would consider changing from Lipitor 5 mg to Crestor (dosage not yet mentioned) after 1 more blood test. 3 years ago another dr. suggested a change, but cardiologist said no need to. Another Dr. (forum) suggested using, in addition to Fish oil for tri-glycerides, niacin. And he said statin users should take CO-enzyme Q 300 mg.
Avatar f tn They habe adequate folic acid and dha. They are almost always buy one get one free. I tried to take dr prescribed ones but they made me sick. My dr looked over the ones i take and said that they were just as good. I take 2 a day as directed on the bottle.
Avatar n tn i take cvs brand prenatals (theres enough in the bottle for my whole pregnancy) and i showed them to my doctor and he said they were fine, and just reccomended me take a dha pill called expecta, cause my prenatals didnt have dha in them...but he said other than they they were perfect to take.
Avatar f tn Like everyone else said they are basically the same. I would make sure they have DHA in them as well. Prescription ones have always been cheaper for me than otc ones. I'm not sure where you live, I live in the midwest and there is a store called Meijer that gives everyone free prenatals but you might have to have your Dr. call in a prescription for them though.
Avatar f tn He is a very nice doctor, but boy, when he stressed how concerned he was I felt like I had nothing left, especially since i heard many women have FSH well over 15 and still get pregnant with just shots vs. IVF. Where do I find DHEA?
Avatar f tn Does ur prenatal vitamins have dha? Is it ok to take them tablets with dha? The one i take doesn't have it but im trying to get gummies to substitute but all gummies seem to have dha.
Avatar f tn Okay so my current prenatal vitamin does not have Dha in it...is it possible for me to take a Dha vitamin in conjunction with my prenatal vitamin?...if so what is a good brand to take?
Avatar f tn m taking fertilaid, royal jelly, wheatgrass and dha, but am also thinking about including cq10, dhea and soy flavones. not sure how much is too much. has everyone here stopped drinking coffee totally? this is a hard one for me. I've gone down to half decaf and half regular. anyone taking yoga classes? is there a certain style I should be looking for? also I read julia indichovia's book last night.
1545464 tn?1376704158 A year back it was 10.8 and on using DHEA it dropped to 7.5.
907968 tn?1292622204 Look on the bottle of your pills to see how much EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) they contain in each capsule. These oils are good for the heart and brain, and you need 500mg daily for a healthy heart and 1000mg for the brain. Some pills are 1000mg, but only contain 240mg of the essential oils per pill. So, you really need to take 4 of them a day.
Avatar f tn I was told to take Flintstones vs nothing...the goal is to get the extra vitamins in the body.
