Common Questions and Answers about Forteo needles size

forteo

Avatar f tn I have been on Forteo daily injections for 1 year and I have experienced considerable joint pains which did not exist prior to treatment. My left hip and knee, my right knee and my hands have been getting worse each month. Has anyone else experienced similar reactions?
Avatar f tn My doctor told me that I have Osteoporosis and wants me to try Forteo an injection for two years. Has anyone tried this drug and what were your side effects, if any. I don't want to make my stomach problems worse than there already are.
Avatar f tn I have severe osteoporosis and am trying to take Forteo. I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?
Avatar f tn Just was informed that I have osteoporosis. My doctor wants me to use Forteo, an injection that you use for two years.
Avatar f tn As for myself, I am a patient suffering from severe osteoporosis. My doctor, realizing I cannot afford Forteo ($950 per month!), has suggested I try to find how I can take the equivalent, generic version, which is Bonista. Please, if anyone can tell me how to get ahold of this medication, any address, emails of sellers, etc! I would be so grateful! This discussion is related to Bonista-side effects.
908504 tn?1269103899 He also wanted me to try the injections of Forteo but my Aunt had bone cancer in her hips so I am somewhat leary of that drug. Any info will be greatly appreciated as I am in really bad pain.
Avatar f tn Hi-- When you say Medicare, I assume it is Medicare Part D, administered by an insurance company like Blue Cross, etc? If so, you might be in for sticker shock. I had a similar experience w/ Forteo, via Part D, they wanted $5K for 3 months. I went directly to Lilly, and qualified for pro bono meds for 2 years, the limit of tx on Forteo. My understanding is patients with cirrhosis get priority. Other Gilead experienced persons, and there are a few here, can tell you more.
Nicelady Medications themselves can be classified as antiresorptive or bone anabolic agents. Teriparatide (Forteo) is also approved for the treatment of postmenopausal women who have severe osteoporosis and are considered at high risk for fractures. The medicine is given through daily shots underneath the skin and you can give these shots even at home. Another advantage is that it can be given in patients who cannot tolerate oral biphosphonate drugs.
Avatar f tn On the forum, I was asked about a smaller needle size to inject, so I asked the pharmacy to send me the 27 g needles and I will switch to that needle size when injecting. Is there anything I need to know when switching the needles? Thanks.
Avatar m tn I think his dose is around 135 but he lies all the time and took me off the clinic call and check on him thing. Last night by daughter found insulin needles in the dryer from my sons laundry. He was on heroin before starting the clinic. He has been sleeping all the time and he told me he was selling the needles not using them. He looks and acts like he is on something else besides the methadone. Can you use heroin when you go the clinic everyday? Thanks for any help.
535882 tn?1396576685 Sorry, mis-read your post! : ) Japanese accupuncture method is with much smaller needles - I was surprised to see the MUCH larger size of the Chinese accupuncture needles. I didn't even feel the Japanese method needles. Both practioners explained to me is that with the chinese method they use a needle that starts larger and increases in size with additional sessions.
Avatar f tn So really is there only a 1ml or 3ml syringe? why the industry want's to just ignore the 2ml? Sent the 1ml which is ridiculous, my hands aren't big enough to reach the end of the plunger since it's fully extended. Then my RX sends me the 3ml which is cool but the needles are monster size. So they send me 30guage needles that pop off all the time and I waste $100 of medicine cuz of it. I'm very frustrated as my hbc is not going to a good level and staying there.
Avatar f tn I am worried right now beause im in our clinic and i check the needle container(with needle cutter), just a size of big cup with a small hole on top middle area. As i hold it towards me and check it, the needles inside slide. I didnt feel any splash in my eyes but i am so worried that some droplets of blood from the needles might got into my eyes. And the worst thing if it has Hiv blood. i am so worried about getting infected by hiv. What do you think? Thank you for your answers.
Avatar m tn It does matter what the bore size is. More people are exposed by the use of insulin needles than any other size needle. You never see drug addicts using large bore needles.
Avatar f tn Pegasys prefilled syringes are 27-gauge 1/2 inch needles. Neupogen prefilled syringes are also 27-gauge 1/2 needles.
Avatar m tn The only issue I could see that MAY possibly be would be with your needles - simply because they may be seen as a possible "weapon". I agree with what Tuck said - definitely contact your ariline carrier (or carriers if you are flying on mulitiple carriers) and ask what their policy is regarding both oral medication and injectible meds.
10203682 tn?1418693754 I'll tell you a secret, you can ask for the smallest needle and the nurse will tell you it is, but really its the same size needle as she'd use for anyone. Shots have specified sizes that they have to be, but this also includes babies. The same size as youd get is also the same size as it would be for a 6 month old. They aren't very big and they go very quick. I didn't even feel it when I got my flu shot or Tdap. You'll do just fine!
Avatar f tn So im terrified of needles and i know imma pass out when i go to the doctors is there anyone else that has or had this problem?
Avatar f tn I just felt a pinch that's it
Avatar f tn Hey everyone. I'm terrified of needles and I'm really worried about the reaction I'll have when confronted with an IV needle and an epidural needle. Any advice about staying calm?
