I have been on Forteo daily injections for 1 year and I have experienced considerable joint pains which did not exist prior to treatment. My left hip and knee, my right knee and my hands have been getting worse each month. Has anyone else experienced similar reactions?
My doctor told me that I have Osteoporosis and wants me to try Forteo an injection for two years. Has anyone tried this drug and what were your side effects, if any. I don't want to make my stomach problems worse than there already are.
I have severe osteoporosis and am trying to take Forteo. I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?
Just was informed that I have osteoporosis. My doctor wants me to use Forteo, an injection that you use for two years.
As for myself, I am a patient suffering from severe osteoporosis. My doctor, realizing I cannot afford Forteo ($950 per month!), has suggested I try to find how I can take the equivalent, generic version, which is Bonista.
Please, if anyone can tell me how to get ahold of this medication, any address, emails of sellers, etc! I would be so grateful!

Mine didn't go away til a couple weeks ago and I'm 33 weeks. Some women feel sick up until delivery. But if you really can't keep anything down you should talk to your doctor before you get dehydrated. Hope you feel better soon!
Hi-- When you say Medicare, I assume it is Medicare Part D, administered by an insurance company like Blue Cross, etc? If so, you might be in for sticker shock. I had a similar experience w/ Forteo, via Part D, they wanted $5K for 3 months. I went directly to Lilly, and qualified for pro bono meds for 2 years, the limit of tx on Forteo. My understanding is patients with cirrhosis get priority. Other Gilead experienced persons, and there are a few here, can tell you more.

He must only use the OptiPen One Insulin Delivery Device with the cartridges. Before he use the device for the first time, read the written directions that come with it. Ask his doctor, pharmacist, or nurse to show him/you the right way to use this device. Practice while the healthcare provider watches.
My concern is, the devices were transported far away from US to the seller in Russia so I wonder if the long period of delivery can affect the sensitivity of the device. The expiry date of the devices is June 2013 so they are still valid when I was using
Secondly, I am an Asian. What if the device can't detect Asian's antiHIV antibody?
Thirdly, both tests came back negative.. I did the oral swab test. I know that if only the line at C zone appeared, then I am negative.
Medications themselves can be classified as antiresorptive or bone anabolic agents. Teriparatide (Forteo) is also approved for the treatment of postmenopausal women who have severe osteoporosis and are considered at high risk for fractures. The medicine is given through daily shots underneath the skin and you can give these shots even at home. Another advantage is that it can be given in patients who cannot tolerate oral biphosphonate drugs.
ve read about some nipple shaping device that you use for a while to get your nipples pointing out... Also, flat nipples might still work, I know inverted nipples makes it hard. Contact the la leche league or a breastfeeding consultant/advice line to find out all your options and don't take your doctor's word as gospel just yet...

I had to have transvaginal ultrasounds alot they dont have to look at you where i did mine the girl that would do them let me put the device inside myself so it wasnt as bad as just suddenly feeling something go inside me lol
For those of us just "reading along" can you define LAA and give just a little more on what a "Watchman Device" is? The device part of the name strongly suggests something worn or implanted.
