Avatar f tn I have been on Forteo daily injections for 1 year and I have experienced considerable joint pains which did not exist prior to treatment. My left hip and knee, my right knee and my hands have been getting worse each month. Has anyone else experienced similar reactions?
Avatar f tn My doctor told me that I have Osteoporosis and wants me to try Forteo an injection for two years. Has anyone tried this drug and what were your side effects, if any. I don't want to make my stomach problems worse than there already are.
Avatar f tn I have severe osteoporosis and am trying to take Forteo. I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?
Avatar f tn Just was informed that I have osteoporosis. My doctor wants me to use Forteo, an injection that you use for two years.
Avatar f tn As for myself, I am a patient suffering from severe osteoporosis. My doctor, realizing I cannot afford Forteo ($950 per month!), has suggested I try to find how I can take the equivalent, generic version, which is Bonista. Please, if anyone can tell me how to get ahold of this medication, any address, emails of sellers, etc! I would be so grateful! This discussion is related to Bonista-side effects.
908504 tn?1269103899 He also wanted me to try the injections of Forteo but my Aunt had bone cancer in her hips so I am somewhat leary of that drug. Any info will be greatly appreciated as I am in really bad pain.
10339178 tn?1427513718 So my best friend is a Nanny and she said the family she nannys for uses the app called baby connect, it works across iOS and android which is nice and it seems like the most functional highly rated app that does everything you'd need it to after baby is born. I broke down and bought it for $4.99 and I'm very impressed. I haven't heard anything from you guys about apps after baby is born but this one has my vote if your thinking about getting one. Well worth the $5!
Avatar f tn Hi-- When you say Medicare, I assume it is Medicare Part D, administered by an insurance company like Blue Cross, etc? If so, you might be in for sticker shock. I had a similar experience w/ Forteo, via Part D, they wanted $5K for 3 months. I went directly to Lilly, and qualified for pro bono meds for 2 years, the limit of tx on Forteo. My understanding is patients with cirrhosis get priority. Other Gilead experienced persons, and there are a few here, can tell you more.
Nicelady Medications themselves can be classified as antiresorptive or bone anabolic agents. Teriparatide (Forteo) is also approved for the treatment of postmenopausal women who have severe osteoporosis and are considered at high risk for fractures. The medicine is given through daily shots underneath the skin and you can give these shots even at home. Another advantage is that it can be given in patients who cannot tolerate oral biphosphonate drugs.
7550897 tn?1397354347 Can't wait to meet my baby and really feel him/her kick. But I heard lots of women don't connect with their babies once they are born and I'm scared that could happen to me... Has it happen to anyone?
Avatar m tn Thanks for your feedback. My case has baffled most doctors. I drink alot of water, eat a healthy diet and don't smoke or drink. The only meds I take are for my bones (Forteo) as I found out that I had extreme osteoporosis in Nov. 2008. I have had my circualtion checked several times and it is reduced in my "weaker" foot. There is no blockages and I have no rare diseases.... My problem is only becoming worse and noone knows why....
Avatar n tn I am in the process of many test now and the only abnormalty found so far is an elevated level of calcium in my blood, a result of Forteo injections. My blood pressure is perfect! Can you give me any idea what is happening to me and if there is anything I can do to help myself this mystery is solved?

Avatar f tn They are called classic connect and click connect. If you buy a classic connect travel system, or a classic connect stroller, any car seat from the classic connect line fits into the stroller frame and with the stroller seat. Similarly, any click connect car seat fits into the click connect stroller seat or stroller base.
Avatar n tn He scheduled a CT for confirmation. The CT confirmed the non-union. He wrote a prescription for Forteo, and the use of a bone growth stimulator, stating that if, after an additional 8 weeks there is still no sign of bone fusion, he would do a bone graft and replace the hardware. I feel as though he is not listening to my complaints of pain, edema and the inability to sleep secondary to the pain and discomfort.
Avatar n tn I do not/have not ever taken estrogen replacement. I did have Aredia/Forteo injections for the treatment of the osteoporosis. The lump/mass is my breast was found to be "prominent glandular" tissue....no sign of mass/calcification...the "lump" under my arm and in my right groin come and go. My ribs under my arm (upper part) of my ribcage is very tender.
10743983 tn?1440210210 I have had love handles for as long as I can remember, and because of them I just look fat, not pregnant. I am wondering if my belly will connect lol or if I will have the baby belly and those pesky side bars! -_- Can anyone tell me? Lol.
Avatar f tn I have had hypothyroid symptoms for 2 years, tests kept coming back "normal". 3 months ago my TSH levels indicate I indeed have hypothyroidism. I started Armour and am following up with a new doctor (we just moved) in a couple of weeks. So I have been trying to piece together things and I keep coming across the reference "autoimmune disorders". I am trying to connect the dots and figure out if I would fall in this category.
