forteo

Avatar f tn I have been on Forteo daily injections for 1 year and I have experienced considerable joint pains which did not exist prior to treatment. My left hip and knee, my right knee and my hands have been getting worse each month. Has anyone else experienced similar reactions?
Avatar f tn My doctor told me that I have Osteoporosis and wants me to try Forteo an injection for two years. Has anyone tried this drug and what were your side effects, if any. I don't want to make my stomach problems worse than there already are.
Avatar f tn I have severe osteoporosis and am trying to take Forteo. I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?
Avatar f tn Just was informed that I have osteoporosis. My doctor wants me to use Forteo, an injection that you use for two years.
908504 tn?1269103899 He also wanted me to try the injections of Forteo but my Aunt had bone cancer in her hips so I am somewhat leary of that drug. Any info will be greatly appreciated as I am in really bad pain.
10339178 tn?1427513718 So my best friend is a Nanny and she said the family she nannys for uses the app called baby connect, it works across iOS and android which is nice and it seems like the most functional highly rated app that does everything you'd need it to after baby is born. I broke down and bought it for $4.99 and I'm very impressed. I haven't heard anything from you guys about apps after baby is born but this one has my vote if your thinking about getting one. Well worth the $5!
Avatar f tn Hi-- When you say Medicare, I assume it is Medicare Part D, administered by an insurance company like Blue Cross, etc? If so, you might be in for sticker shock. I had a similar experience w/ Forteo, via Part D, they wanted $5K for 3 months. I went directly to Lilly, and qualified for pro bono meds for 2 years, the limit of tx on Forteo. My understanding is patients with cirrhosis get priority. Other Gilead experienced persons, and there are a few here, can tell you more.
Avatar f tn Tendonitis is the inflammation of your tendons, the bands that connect your muscle to your bone. The most common cause of tendonitis is over use. That said, it might be possible. Have you recently started an exercise program?
Avatar f tn I've received my copy of Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I found it invaluable in being able to connect up with my computer. I'm composing this in Microsoft Word, so I haven't learned all the ins and outs of the program. But I was able to compose a wonderful e-mail today in order to continue issues close to my heart. Thank you for suggesting this wonderful program and I hope others will find this program is useful as I know I will.
Nicelady Medications themselves can be classified as antiresorptive or bone anabolic agents. Teriparatide (Forteo) is also approved for the treatment of postmenopausal women who have severe osteoporosis and are considered at high risk for fractures. The medicine is given through daily shots underneath the skin and you can give these shots even at home. Another advantage is that it can be given in patients who cannot tolerate oral biphosphonate drugs.
Avatar f tn Call a program called PEGAssist. You'll find them at www.pegasys.com or call 1-877-734-2797. They are actually very helpful and have covered the costs of many peoples medication, both the copegus( ribavirin) and the pegasys(peginterferon-alfa-2a) which are used to treat Hepatitis C. They are connected to the manufacturer,Roche. Hope the info helps.
619328 tn?1221396293 You can google them and once you get to the home page, click on emotional support. They can connect you with someone who matches up to you, but is further along than you. The program is called in your shoes and they have an 800 number that is good 24/7.
Avatar n tn t really insurance, but a discount program. So, far there coverage on prescription drugs(non-diabetic) have actually been better than I thought. But, as most people know, insurance companies & pre-existing conditions don't mix well. I've enough pump supplies to carry me through thus far, but will need more eventually and the medical coverage is iffy at best.
7550897 tn?1397354347 Can't wait to meet my baby and really feel him/her kick. But I heard lots of women don't connect with their babies once they are born and I'm scared that could happen to me... Has it happen to anyone?
Avatar m tn I'm shocked you have no replies to this subject. I have to say I couldn't handle the w/d's and I detoxed with Suboxone. It was a great treatment program which really taught me a lot about addiction. It's not the cure all for everyone but for me it worked and I'm still clean all these years later. I hope more people share to help others out!!
Avatar f tn I was able to get them through the patient assistance program that Gilead has. It is called Support Path. They are great. I highly recommend that if you have a prescription that is one of Gilead's drugs, i.e. Harvoni, or Vosevi and have been turned down by insurance, that you contact Gilead. Go to their website. I am not sure but is probably like Gilead.com. Or you could google SupportPath. Good luck to you. Vosevi was the easiest treatment I had! Barely any side effects at all.

Avatar m tn Thanks for your feedback. My case has baffled most doctors. I drink alot of water, eat a healthy diet and don't smoke or drink. The only meds I take are for my bones (Forteo) as I found out that I had extreme osteoporosis in Nov. 2008. I have had my circualtion checked several times and it is reduced in my "weaker" foot. There is no blockages and I have no rare diseases.... My problem is only becoming worse and noone knows why....
Avatar n tn My insurance prescription coverage only covers generic drugs and since there is no generic drug for Copaxone it would cost me $10,000 for a 3 month supply! I obviously do not have that kind of money, not really sure who could afford that but anyway... I was working with Shared Solutions and their medication assistance only to be told that I was inelidgeable for the assistance.
