In general, doctors are well trained and medical care is sophisticated in Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur. It also shouldn't be any trouble finding a qualified STD specialist or dermatologist, if you're not confident in the care by the doctor you have seen.
In the absence of more specific STD symptoms (discharge from the penis, genital sores), STD testing probably isn't necessary.
