Hi! I was in a car crash in May 2013 and got whiplash, I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, they did tests and said I was ok but noticed that I had 2 fused vertebrae from a previous car crash about 10 years before.
Ever since this recent crash I've had nerve problems, from the top of my head all the way down to my hips hurt, then turned into a kind of 'itchy' feeling for a week and then into 'pins and needles'.
Reflexology in non-medical terms is that basically on the foot there are many, many points that link to other points on the body. If you've ever spent considerable time looking at a reflexology or studied the subject, you may know that there is a point kind of at the middle top area of the arch in the foot. When this point is massaged, the sphinctal (anus) area relaxes.
I've booked in for labour inducing reflexology tomorrow at 2.. I was wondering if anyone has had it before and if it did anything?
I know it's not 100% but I was gonna go for a massage anyway haha!!
I've heard that foot reflexology can have an effect on inducing pregnancy, that there's certain pressure points within the feet. (Is that why it's unadvisable for women in their late third trimester not to have pedicures?) Maybe she should have a pedicure! Seriously though, I think this is an old wives' tale, so this is not true advice. I wish her all the luck at birth and congrats!
another thought, go and get a foot massage/reflexology done and get then to concentrate on your points for your uterus or go and get some acupuncture done
Definitely! For example people get reflexology (foot massage) because there is a nerve ending in your feet that effects each part of your body. I'm sure a nerve in your neck could have some effect on your stomach etc, with that said be cautious with message.
I was going to massage therapy school but had to drop, and be careful of foot rubs, getting into the reflexology part of it we learned there is a spot on the side of the ankle that relates to the overies and uterus and can send a woman into labor.
You could also try acupuncture or a really firm foot massage/reflexology let the know your overdue and to concentrate on the uterus points :)
Acupucture and/or a foot massage with them doing your pressure points (reflexology) should help if your ready to go :).
In my case i had spicy salsa and chilli on the monday night and my sister did the reflexology on my foot and i went into labour later that night (well it was after midnight so technically the next day) but then who knows whether i would not have naturally gone into labour even if i didnt have those things lol.

try getting your partner to give you a foot massage concentrating on the fleshy bits behind your ankles, getting him to rub or squeeze this area quite firmly, if you cant get him to do this, go for some reflexology or a pregnancy massage and ask them to do your uterus points :)
