Avatar n tn Also, balancing exercises (propioception exercises) would greatly help. If you have ankle weakness, i would purchase an ankle brace for support until you strengthen your muscles and can rely upon them again. If you have flat feet, purchase orthotics to help provide further balance and control when walking.
Avatar f tn there is a great stretching exercises located on www.footscript.com go to the foot care instruction tab and then click on the tab for plantar fasciitis/heel pain. this should make your foot better after 1 week. if the pain continues, see a podiatrist to rule out a fascial tear. you may need orthotics to help support the arches.
Avatar n tn I have a crushed foot and very bad heel pain. The best thing to do is get a pair of croc shoes and where them.
Avatar m tn It is possible to have lasting pain if the ankle never fully healed. You need to stregthen the area. Any time you cannot weight bare the joint looses strength. This takes as little as 72 hrs. Therefore if you never rehabilitated the ankle it is weak and gets sore just from walking around throughout the day bearing your own body's weight. The best thing you can do is range of motion exercises such as drawing the ABC's in the air with your toes only moving your foot at the ankle joint.
Avatar m tn m not an anatomy expert but it seems to be in the lower area of the Flexor Digitorum Longus, on the tibia side. The pain is rstricted to above the ankle, and there is no pain on the sole of my foot or my toes. It usually begins the day after a run and lasts up to a few days. In those days afterwards, even walking 30-40 minutes can flare it up. . A run with a very steep hill seems to be a guarantee to bring the symptoms on.
Avatar n tn She says when she stands or sits for any length of time, her foot hurts and she must lay down to relieve the pain. The doctor said this is typical because of blood rushing to the foot and recommended putting the support sock on. Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone is impressed with her flexibility and she's doing her exercises regularly but this pain has really gotten her concerned and regrets getting the surgery. How long can she expect this pain to stay? Thank you.
Avatar n tn 7 mONTHS AGO I went to a podiatrist for tingling and pain in the bootm of left foot. He gave me Orthetics to wear, and exercises to do after Xray showed that I had a very inflamed tendon on bottom of foot. I also have very high arches. Now, I have began to feel some pulling and pain on right foot. Could this be from wearing the orthetics. In March he said I may need to have the presciption orthectics. I may have pulled something in the bottom of my foot.
Avatar n tn though the pain seemed to be initally in the outer foot bones on top when I started the exercise(mainly rolling a tennis ball under the arch of my foot I realized how very tender it was. I will try the exercises a week more and if it persists will go to the Dr. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Hi, and welcome. Foot pain is NO fun. I have ms and other diseases and one of my newer problems is foot drop. It's been coming and getting worse over time, but is now so bad it has to be braced. My Achilles tendon is shortened due to a weak muscle in my leg preventing me from being able to lift my foot. Anyway, being in the "terminator boot" would cause severe stiffness and immobility for long enough that you may suffer from Achilles tendon shortening too.
Avatar m tn s now becoming more painfull, i go to classes at the gym, and if i do jumping or balance on my feet for to long the burning pain kicks in, an is now mowing towards the arch of the foot, this happens in both feet but more pain in the right. Avatar m tn You may be able to relieve heel pain by stretching tight calf muscles. Exercise and wearing supporting foot wear is the primary treatment for tight heel cord. Take ibuprofen and apply ice packs regularly to relieve you from pain. A physical therapist or trainer can help supervise a program recommended by your sports medicine specialist or a foot specialist, such as an orthopaedist or podiatrist. Finally your orthopedician will explore other options including surgery so discuss in detail.
Avatar f tn I would get the Plantar Fascitis treatment first, then after a month or two see if the leg pain is any better. I had leg pain also but it improved after the Plantar pain got better.Sometimes people don't respond to the exercises or wrapping of the heel and may need a injection in the foot, and or antifinflamatoroies, the dr. can be the best judge of your foot. It can take several months and there are lots of things you can do to help re prevent it from reoccuring.
1862575 tn?1319979009 My guess is that it is referred pain. Your drop foot is likely causing you to walk differently that usual. The your altered gait is putting stress on your knee. Prior to havong my hip replaced my gait had become so messed up that it felt like my knee was going to explode. As soon as I got my hip fixed, and my gait returned to normal, my knee stopped hurting.
Avatar n tn What causes pain and crunching noise on my shoulder joints and my foot joints and my knee?
Avatar m tn One possibility is unaccustomed exercise—so increase your pace slowly. Another possibility is wrong foot wear. So change the foot wear and see and buy good quality sports shoes means for running and jogging. Other than this you could have developed a slipped disc or suffering from spondylosis which ahs worsened by constant running. This needs to be ruled out through X-rays and MRI.
Avatar f tn I saw my ankle surgeon a couple of weeks ago and I had just found out that I have a bone spur on the top of my right foot (the same foot and ankle that I had surgery on in April 2008). He told me to do some ankle exercises to relieve some of the pain. He didn't do anything with the bone spur yet. I go see him again October 15. My question is: Will the ankle exercises help the bone spur disappear or will I need to get surgery to remove the bone spur?
