Foot pain pressure points

Common Questions and Answers about Foot pain pressure points

foot

Avatar m tn These trigger points , also called myfascial release points, are released by 20 seconds of extreme pressure per 1/2 inch areas. It hurts, but then feels better as lactic acid (your condition) is pushed out of the effected tissues. This must be repeated, sometimes several times per day if you learn how to do it - in between seeing a massage therapist initially 2 X per week for a few weeks to a month. You can experiment by rolling your foot with pressure over a golf ball on the floor.
Avatar n tn You should try acupressure and wear soft padded footwear preferably slip-ons and not shoes. You can also try foot wear with soles designed according to pressure points. Also when you are standing keep changing the position, lift your foot off the ground for sometime and let your foot bear the body weight alternatively. If possible keep a small stool nearby on which you can rest your foot from time to time.
Avatar f tn Both caregiver222 and jemma116 have provided accurate information. The two sciatic nerves are the largest nerves in the human body. They are formed on each side from elements of the lumbar nerve roots, and runs beneath the piriformis region in the pelvis, exiting the pelvis at the greater sciatic foramen, where it runs down the back of the thigh to an area just above the knee. Here it divides into the tibial and fibular nerves.

398532 tn?1231463960 Everything4reason is right! The foot its self is not an issue. Its your ankles. Behind your ankles are pressure points...pressing on those could cause a miscarriage. When I was in beauty school we had massage class and we were taught that. And at the time of learning that ..I was also 4 months pregnant. So I stayed clear of the ankles.
Avatar f tn Wats pressure points?

Another possibility is excessive pronation which occurs when the foot has a tendency to turn inward and stretch and pull the fascia along with it. This also causes heel pain, and because of the posture pain is also felt in hip, knee, ankle and lower back. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn m certainly no expert, but I will say since you mentioned he is wheelchair bound, then pressure is exerted on pressure points on his feet. If he has spasticity and his foot is pressing on certain aspects of his foot (ie: lateral/side, heels, ball of feet, etc.) then what that does is decrease blood flow to that area and can cause ulcerations after consistent pressure. It is even worse if his protein levels (albumin) are low.
Avatar f tn There Are Certain Pressure points In Your Feet That Have Been Known To trigger the Start of Labor. But That's if You Go Get A Massage Or Pedicure They Will Know What It Is. There Are all Sorts Of Trigger Points In You Feet Tho.
Avatar f tn No I meant the opposite. Im sorry....not the needles just having the person push on ur pressure points like back of ur ankles or whatever....like massaging them.
Avatar f tn A foot massage machine, should be perfectly fine. The trigger points are directly behind the ankle, i doubt a machine will cause you to go into labor.
Avatar n tn re actually not aloud to massage the feet or the hands since there are pressure points that can send you into labor! It feels good to get a pedi and it's not bad as long as the nail tech knows what they're doing... Unfortunately a cheap Asian place probably wont do them properly.
Avatar f tn Look up there pressure points to induce labor, there's different spots on your feet that can cause contractions when you apply pressure. I've been trying this for 2 weeks and nothing so far :/ hope you have better luck!
11208968 tn?1418548696 This is kind of one of those things that the chances of it actually working is slim. Basically there are pressure points on your feet that make your uterus contract. However, it is not probably really going to be enough to induce labor. I have tried it on many woman with no success. As they told us the same thing in school. More or less they will come when they are ready!!
Avatar f tn Have your husband give you a back massage and a foot massage and anywhere that has pressure points and just relax.
Avatar m tn You can also try foot wear with soles designed according to pressure points. Also when you are standing keep changing the position, lift your foot off the ground for sometime and let your foot bear the body weight alternatively. Avatar f tn Pack up and if you want to jump start labor Google labor inducing pressure points, try some out they may help. Walk, walk, walk. I also heard spicy food helps. Foot rubs are said to help especially if you get those pressure points rubbed.
Avatar f tn I twisted mine before by missing a step, and the hospital put on a cast and this relieved the pressure on my foot and made it feel a lot better. Mine was just a sprain.
Avatar n tn Some people say that certain pressure on the ankles or inner thighs or certain points in the foot can cause contractions or start labour. (There are people who offer labour inducing massage actually.) For foot massages I've heard to avoid them until after 12 weeks pregnant just to be safe since everyone is always so worried about miscarriage in the first trimester.
Avatar f tn I am a hairdresser/nail tech. There are definitely pressure points you need to avoid during pregnancy. Make sure you tell your nail tech that you're pregnant and she should avoid those points in your ankles. Also, you shouldn't get any type of massaging done in the first trimester. Massaging releases toxins in your body which can be potentially harmful to your newly growing baby.

When I stand the bottom of my feet will throb.

I've had the pain on and off all day that will last for a few minutes. I'm a ftm so I have no idea what this pain could be. I don't see my doctor for a while.
Avatar f tn The leg and side pain might just be a muscle cramp that I injured somehow, and just coincidental to my foot....but I am really getting to worry about this foot pain. Is there anything someone can suggest?
