Has anyone else taking Fluoxetine (similar to Prozac) experienced side effects? I have noticed some odd changes in the way my body responds to exercise; specifically, excessive sweating. I'm not sure if the medication is directly linked, but in the past year (I have been taking the drug for about 2.5 years) I break into an all over the body sweat very easily, and it has happened even when I'm not exercising.

A study done in 2009 by the Department of Behavioral Science at Eastern Virginia Medical School concluded that selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, are one type of prescription medication effective for this disorder. Some common SSRIs include fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, paroxetine and sertraline. The study listed other pharmacologic treatments for skin picking, such as inositol, clomipramine, doxepin, inositol, lamotrigine, olanzapine, naltrexone and riluzole.

These medications are also used to treat Trichotillomania and OCD and include clomipramine, fluoxetine (prozac), sertraline, paroxetine, fluvoxamine, citalopram, escitalopram, nefazodone and venlafaxine.
These new generation antidepressants - the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors - are really safe. I'm on them myself.
You can also try some behaviour therapy like habit reversal training and with Exposure and Response Prevention which some nail biters find helpful.

So far I have managed to change from 20 mg Paroxetine to 10 mg Paroxetine and 10 mg Fluoxetine. It has been difficult and it is not quite over with that change but it was easier than just lowering Paroxetine. Next step is lowering fluoxetine to 5 mg, I am pretty confident that the sleep will get a litte longer, hopefully enough to sleep four hours without sleepmed.

Some sedatives lower the esophagal pressure that keeps food from entering the esophagus from the stomach. If you are taking an SSRI (Fluoxetine,Paroxetine etc), take it with breakfast to avoid irritating the stomach. If you are taking any anti-anxolytics (Alprazolam, Clonazepam etc), take them after dinner.
Try the following:
1. Prilosec OTC (Omaprazole 20mg) once a day. (PPIs reduce acid production in the stomach)
2. Domperidone 10 mg 3 times a day ( Increases pressure in the esophagus)

1) Paxil (Paroxetine) is well-known to have unpleasant symptoms as part of a discontinuation syndrome. 40mg daily is a significant dose and one would expect to have difficult experiences upon changing or stopping it. However, three weeks is a long-time, it's possible your mood is dropping and worth discussing this with your doctor.
2) Prozac (Fluoxetine) has a very long half-life, possibly up to eight weeks, and so does take much longer than most SSRI's to 'kick in'.
I have been put on and was successfully using Paroxetine Sandoz to treat depression and anxiety, sometimes the stomach pain came back while on it and it was a persistent, pressing pain which made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I came off Paxil and tried Pristiq. Didn't work for my mental health problems so I came completely off all medications and then started on Lyrica and after 2 weeks went back on Paxil.
But one study suggested that there might be differences in weight gain due to the different types of SSRI. Paroxetine (Paxil) may be more likely cause a significant weight gain than other drugs of this type (like fluoxetine or sertraline). Studies about citalopram found no significant weight changes for most patients (but a minority of about 5% of the patients had a weight gain of more than 5 kg).
I went to an urologist and tried different anti-depressant pills like Fluoxetine, Sertraline, Citalopram and also Paroxetine. All of them seem working well in the first week so that I can last more than 10 minutes but after two weeks or more I can only last about 3 minutes which is not very satisfying because these records are achieved after dry masturbation. My penis is very sensitive and when I masturbate using lubrications I can ejaculate even in less than 15 seconds.
SSRIs often interact with the metabolism of lots of medications. Paroxetine (Paxil), Fluoxetine (Prozac) and Citalopram/Escitalopram (Celexa, Lexapro) are inhibitors of CYP2D6 - the enzyme responsible for metabolizing lots of medications. Fluvoxamine (Luvox) is inhibiting another enzyme.
Sertraline (Zoloft) do not have this side effect, and Venlafaxine (Effexor, a SNRI) is also perhaps a good choice, as itdood said.
