Avatar f tn At the moment, the hair loss isnt too bad and my emotions and general wellbeing are my priority. Obviously losing any more hair wouldnt be ideal though..!
Avatar n tn I don't know if it is my imagination, but the hair loss seems to be slowing down now but I'm not sure. I just know that my hair is terribly thin and in extremely bad condition. This is a very small price to pay for my treatment and clearing the virus. I've also heard that after the treatment meds leave your system, then the hair comes back nicely. I'll just have to wait and see. I have about 11 more weeks to go and then I may have to do an extension after my 48 weeks. Hang in there.!!
Avatar n tn These are the same medication, one generic, one not. Hair loss is not a side effect of this medication. But I think it may be a clue to what may be causing your depression. See an Endocrinologist and have your thyroid checked (don't have it done by your GP). If your thyroid is not working properly it not only causes hair loss but depression! I wish you all the best and take care.
Avatar f tn I have problems w/ADHD, Anxiety that I take medication for (dexadrin and fluoxetine) and assumed that the symptoms were probably associated w/it. i also have problems w/severe menstrual cramps,, hair loss, and hair breakage. The list goes on. However, while searching for info on the profuse sweating, I found that I had symptoms of hyperthyroidism. My symptoms of ADHD have worsened and now I wonder if it isn't my thyroid. What do you think? And........what should I do?
Avatar n tn Side effects of medication, specifically the Fluoxetine and Propecia, can cause a loss of sex drive. I would also consider a testosterone level to make sure these levels are normal. Regarding the irritation and burining - I would test for infection. Specifically, STDs such as chlamydia or gonorrhea can cause these symptoms. A U/A as well as urethral swab for the STDs would be a good start.
Avatar f tn 2) but my symptoms are fatigue, cold feet, hair loss, weak bones, forget easily, dry skin, back pain severe headache slight panic attacks though am on 50mg levothyrosine and i do take fluoxetine for my panic attack but i still feel really unwell. most important i do feel am passing out when i want to fart.
Avatar n tn About 4 years ago I started getting symptoms of anxiety and loss of sleep. I had regrets about the past and a career choice I made and I kept regretting and thinking I made a wrong decision. This affected my self esteem and I had problems taking up jobs. I couldn't control my thoughts and couldn't concentrate and I was tired when I got up in the mornings. I saw a psychiatrist who put me on fluoxetine and paroxetine.
Avatar f tn I'm hoping this is the cause of all my physical ailments. My hair is falling out (this started maybe a week or 2 before they went away), I'm tired ALL the time no matter how much sleep I get, I'm physically exhausted (I'm only 24 years old, and even walking into the next room of my house can be taxing), I can hear & at times feel my heart beating in my head, and I'm physically shaky all the time. It was bearable until last night when something extremely scary happened.
Avatar f tn It can have devastating effects down the road such as hair loss. So please tell your parents about this. You need to see a psychologist that can help you with behavior modification. Now is the time to put a stop to it. Take care.

Avatar f tn I asked my PCP to test me. He said it was normal. In the past 3 years my hair started falling out, I have cold intolerance, very low libido, depressed, weak, dry nails, low body temp, night sweats, suffered a miscarriage 3 years ago, dry skin, etc. I started realizing that there has to be something going on with me. I am 40 and was thinking maybe perimenopause?
Avatar n tn 47 years old, severe depression - on fluoxetine, hospitalised with chest pains - told it was anxiety. No period for 2 years...told it was menopause. Hair loss - head, pubic hair all gone, eyebrows too only half the size they were. Tingling, numbness periodic sharp pain in hands and feet, and sometimes legs. Itching rash on hands which flares up and dies down daily. Extreme fatigue - sleeping a LOT. Feel as though my throat has something in it. Hoarse voice but not all the time.
Avatar n tn i take lexapro and im having severe hair loss but no other symptoms it does well otherwise i really didnt want to go on meds but i couln not stand it anymore. has anyone else had these prblems?
Avatar n tn I remember reading that Synthroid seems more likely to cause hair loss than other levothyroxine brands and that switching brands often helps people who are losing hair...or am I just imagining this? Have you looked at Mary Shomon's website (www.thyroid.about.com)? I am sure you could find out there whether I am correct or just imagining things. In regard to venting: Although I am a newbie at this forum, I think I am safe in saying that there is NO such thing as venting too much here!

Avatar n tn I have had my wife look several times to see if she sees anything like a rash but nothing. Even removed hair in case it was being pulled and causing the feeling. Doesn't prevent me from doing normal activities but more annoyance than anything. Glad I am not the only one and not crazy!!
4149717 tn?1389507161 Then went on fluoxetine (prozac). Did ok on that, but abused it when I started my opiate weaning and ended up w/seratonin syndrome. For ME and only ME Teresa, I decided when I stopped putting opiates in me to stop my AD as well. My spark plugs are SHOT......and my poor brain hasn't a clue how to produce its own chemicals. (kinda like my hubby's truck....it's misfiring, doesn't accelerate, has no "oomph"....cause it needs new plugs Hahaha! All that to say.......

Avatar n tn I have used clonopin, xanex, and alprazolam as tranquilizers to help when it gets bad. I am considering going back to effexor b/c I'm experiencing hair loss/thining that I know is associated with the stress of the anxiety, which is always present. I have heard about lexapro as a better effexor. I'm wondering if anyone has had success in using a different medication to combat the night sweat side effects?
