Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms the first possibility is of course of tinea pedis. Tinea pedis may present in several ways, varying from mild chronic scaling to acute lesions that are exfoliative, pustular, or bullous. The second possibility is of dyshidrotic eczema. The first stage is acute and presents as itchy blisters on the hands, fingers and toes. Then the chronic stage shows more peeling, cracking, or crusting. The third possibility is of contact dermatitis.
567383 tn?1413084443 Hi, This could be an allergy or a fungal infection of the foot. Tinea Pedis is a parasitic fungal infection of the epidermis of the human foot. Several different fungi, called dermatophytes, can cause tinea pedis. It causes scaling, flaking and itching of the affected skin. Blisters and cracked skin may also occur. It is typically transmitted in moist environments where people walk barefoot, such as showers, bath houses, and locker rooms.
Avatar m tn Did not have steroids, just fluconazole as an antifungal. The ointments were also plain fluconazole.
Avatar m tn My question would be is it possible for ones own tinea pedis to spread to the body(tinea corporis) through let's say dirty towels, clothes, bed sheets, etc. Also, in cases of infections like hiv is tinea more widespread/severe because I have three little circles two dime sized(one on my back and one next to my nipple) one quarter sized(upper groin area almost hitting my waistline)on my body that my doctor quickly identified as tinea.
Avatar f tn What can I use to cure tinea capitis corporis and pedis after failure in clotrimazole cream, hydrocortisone, ketoconazole tabs, terbinafine tabs, miconazole, clobetasol and gentamycin cream?
Avatar n tn One differential for this is a fungal infection called tinea pedis. The lesions ( allow me to call them lesions) of tinea pedis are usually found in between the digits of the lower extremities. The skin becomes soft and a bit macerated. That is, you may easily slough them off.The lesions are also itchy. I advise that you seek consult wth your physician so this may be assessed and you may be prescribed the right medications.

Avatar m tn - Tinea Corporis and Tinea Cruris (I have this, all the symptoms match, although my Tinea Corporis are severe, and don't have a clean spot in between albeit a rather dark smooth one that seems like the center of all activity) - Impetigo (I have some small impetigo sores on me, not a huge concern though, I just apply fusidic acid cream on them thrice a day) What I thought I had: - Psoriasis (I thought I had Psoriasis, but Psoriasis sores don't perspire or sweat, whenever I'd apply f

Avatar m tn What do you want me to tell you, you did not have a risk for HIV. See a Dr for your symptoms.
Avatar f tn i would see a doctor to have this examined. it could be the start of vessicular tinea pedis (athlete's feet), contact dermatitis, allergic reaction to chemicals, medication, etc.
Avatar f tn I’m a 20 year old female, and I have been dealing with tinea versicolor for going on 7 months. I’ve tried the shampoos and my doctor has prescribed me multiple rounds of fluconazole (spaced out between rounds) the rash went away after awhile, but I was not using the shampoo (I was using a natural soap on Amazon for tinea versicolor). Sadly, the rash came back after a month or so. I never stopped using that exact same soap, and I would shower normally 2-3 times a day (because I work out).
Avatar m tn recognize and treat tinea pedis; avoid injuring the nail, and maintain and improve chronic health conditions such as diabetes control and smoking cessation. You can read more about this through this link: http://www.aafp.org/afp/20010215/663.html Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Tinea manum (ringworm of hand) or Tinea pedis (ringworm of foot) or scabies are other causes. Contact dermatitis could be due to anything that your hand and feet come in contact with. You must get an allergy test done, either a skin test or RAST, to know what you are allergic to. Please consult a skin specialist as it is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
Avatar n tn Hello, These symptoms can be due to tinea pedis which is a fungal infection of the foot. First of all, you need to get the diagnosis confirmed from your doctor and get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings done to find out whether it is fungal infection. If it is fungal infection then topical and oral antifungals may be needed. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn Could be 'Bullous tinea pedis'. Well treatable with clotrimazole dusting powder.Do consult your doc.

Avatar f tn Okay where do I start...i have had tinea versicolor for over 3 years now, it covers 100% of my chest and patches travel all down my abdomen into my groin, also down my arms and on my kneck and under my armpits. I feel like a giant walking yeast infection, and nothing I have used has even remotley weakened it at all, it seems to be immune to everything I have tried.
Avatar m tn Hello, If the area is dry and red then the possibilities of tinea pedis and erythrasma between the toes and the webspaces needs to be ruled out. I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist and preferably a KOH examination of the skin scrapings to confirm the diagnosis. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
