Common Questions and Answers about Flonase tinnitus

flovent

Avatar m tn I've had tinnitus now for 6 months. It all started when I did a few lines of cocaine in November of 2007. Shortly after I developed serious sinus problems where I had major swelling on the inside of my nose along with pain on the bridge. And then........I woke up with ringing in my ears 1 1/2 weeks later. The ringing got louder as the sinus problems continued. Short of 3 sinus infections to date I really don't have too much to complain about with my sinuses.
Avatar n tn Moved to Chicago several years ago from Phoenix so the doctor suggested that I may be suffering from allergies as a result. Blood test confirmed grass allergy. Have been using Flonase (SP?) for about 1 month coupled with nasal rinsing system but still have the ringing and drainage. Should I be worried about another culprit besides allergies causing these awful symptoms?? In addition, is there any other over-the-counter meds that may be of use. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Once every year I would get it for a week and take flonase and it would go away. This year I got it again around the same time, but instead of flonase my doctor prescribed nasonex. Later the doctor gave me flonase and it hasn't helped. I'm thoroughly frustrated and worn out. If you find out anything about it please let me now. I'm so sorry for you having to go through all that, but I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one out there.
Avatar m tn Recently ( 6 months ago ) I developed tinnitus in my left ear... it is a pain, but I could live with it... At some point after that I started having headaches and felt dizzy from time to time... and now it is getting worse. I had an MRI because of the headaches and it was clear and I also met with an ENT regarding the ear issues and he did not seem to think anything was wrong... My question is...
Avatar m tn I had a mild case of tinnitus, stupidly went to a concert, and soon afterward developed this popping noise when I swallow. I was told this was a coincidence, but am finding it harder and harder to believe. I went to the ER first and was put on an antihistimine, which your forum said was not advisable for fluid in the ears, but my primary doctor, who I saw 3 days later, put me on the decongestants to dry up the fluid as he put it.
Avatar m tn I am a 50 year old male with intermittent/ mild tinnitus and slight fullness in my right ear since January.. With the death of my father on May 6, 2016 the condition got worse. I have tried Zyrtec, neomycin ear drops, amoxicillin at first. I woke up one morning and I suddenly developed a sensation of fullness in my R ear and ringing. ( low pitched roaring sound).Nothing that preceded it as far as I can tell. No colds or infections or anything. There was no vertigo.
Avatar n tn Initially I was told there had probably been an ear infection and that several rounds of Flonase would empty out the remaining liquid, plus some antibiotics for good measure. After that did nothing it became "there is remaining swelling" from the liquid, and take more Flonase. After that did nothing a temporary tube was placed for a couple of months.
Avatar m tn s the reason for my symptoms, also he said that in ear time, my symptoms are relatively new, and it could take more time for them to go away, and then he decided to order an MRI of the brain, which came back negative. Remaining tests he ordered is allergy test and tinnitus audio calibration test, and then a follow up with him. He also prescribed me medication: Flonase nasal spray, Amoxicillin antibiotics and Prednisolone 10 mg.
Avatar n tn Hi All, Anyone have this? Left ear ringing high pitched for 5 weeks, sounds like a tv monitor. Left ear has swollen gland behind it. Had CT scan and left sinus (ehtmoid and maxillary) are fill with mucous. Ears crunch and crackle every time I swallow. Dr. says I have severe staph infection, swollen eustachian tubes, How long will this take to heal? I'm on 3rd round of antibiotics, flonase, saline spray, zyrtec. Any thoughts appreciated.
Avatar f tn I have been battling sinus and throat problems for 15 or 20 years, so many doctors now I can't remember them all. I have chronic tinnitus in my left ear. I have constant throat soreness, lately it is lower throat soreness near my chest. This past week it was so painful I had trouble swallowing at all. Constant sinus drainage, mostly in the form of post nasal drip. When things get bad I tend to really feel it on my left side, I feel a fullness in my left ear.
Avatar m tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-side-effects-drug-center.htm - which is probably why your doctor said to stop using it. If your cough got better using it, maybe it was helping some allergy symptoms, like post-nasal drip. Did you ask your doctor what he meant, or try to clarify anything? Always feel free to ask questions and clarify anything you don't understand with your doctor.
464237 tn?1315670793 t want the infection to get even worse. How is it ok to use flonase for bacterial infection? Have any of you used flonase for infection. My infection is not allergy related, it came from a cold that was going around. Thanks so much for reading. and yes I have been using nasal irrigation along with all of the other home remedies I have found on the internet.
Avatar n tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-drug.htm. Is this prescribed to decreases swelling or to attend to the sinus issue contributing to the swelling?
7469840 tn?1409845836 I am finding I am experiencing tinnitus. I at first thought it was the Eliquis I have been on for 2 months, my cardiologist put me on Xarelto and it seems to be a little less. But now I am wondering if it isn't a Sx post Tx of Sovaldi/Interferon/Ribavirin. Will it go away in time? Thinking I should probably call my doctor and have my ears looked at. Anyone with similar excperiences?
Avatar n tn ve had such a tough time with sinus headaches, allergies (watery eyes, plugged ears and tinnitus) and fatigue that I finally went to an ear-nost-throat doctor last week. He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on.
Avatar n tn Twice in the last six months using Flonase my mouth filled with blood from sinuses. Is another medication for sinusitis available?
Avatar m tn I've had an upper respiratory infection for about a week. Went to the doctor this morning with severe ear pain, no infection, just inflammation due to the other infection. Was recommended Flonase, rest, and fluids. After I came home and took the Flonase I've had this really weird fizzing sensation off and on at the back of my throat all day. It feels like a handful of poprocks are at the top of my throat/back of my mouth. It's a really weird suggestion.
Avatar f tn I'm also taking Fluticasone Propionate and have the very same issue. I think it's because the nasal spray dries out the nasal cavity. At first, I started having bloody noses, but then that stopped and this current symptom started. My doctor had said it may make the nose very dry and to try saline solution once daily after the Flonase. I have yet to do that, but it's supposed to help. Hope that helps.
Avatar n tn s unfortunate when medication costs so much sometimes that we have to find an alternative. Flonase and Astepro are likely the right names. Flonase is a corticosteroid spray and Astepro is an antihistamine spray. Dymista is a combination medication so it makes sense that the doctor is suggesting the two medications will work as the Dymista did. Let us know how it goes.
Avatar m tn Hi Brian459, In stapedial myoclonus you will be having more of an objective tinnitus (where in even the examiner can hear the tinnitus) but not clicks as you are experiencing. I think these clicks are probably because of your Eustachian tube dysfunction and you are noticing during opening your jaw and swallowing. You can get Tympanometry and Acoustic reflex impedance testing to find out what exactly your problem is. Any more doubts you are welcome.
Avatar f tn The folliculitis is limited to the scalp only. I am real curious about the Flonase use ,but also read of a connection toi high tryglycerides, which I do have a problem with. No test have been done, saw family physician, she only suggested a dandruff shampoo. I have been using T- Gel and Demerex.
Avatar f tn t take really any allergy meds due to issues with tachycardia and palpitations. My doctor suggested Flonase, but I am allergic to sulfur (used a sulfur mask once and my whole face swelled huge, used to have to brush me teeth with sulfur water and my entire mouth would get blisters) and I noticed that Flonase contains sulfur in its makeup. Can I use it?
Avatar m tn I have seen three ENTs and all have been of no help. I have tried Flonase for 5 months, one 10 days supply of antibiotics, and two courses of predisone. I'm really not sure what else to do. I am at my last straw because no doctor will further investigate what could be causing these issues. I had one ENT diagnose Meniere's disease, but I am not having attacks - it is a constant dizziness. With all the doctors I have seen, all have refused to do a throat swab for me.
Avatar m tn I notice that the ingredient that in Flonase is the same (fluticasone propionate) as is found in Flovent.. It occurs to me that flonase might even work better because more of the stream of fluticasone propionate would hit the back of my throat and be swallowed, getting more to my esophagus and less to my mouth. The key point though is I can get flonase inexpensively, whereas the flovent is more than I can easily afford.
