Avatar m tn I've had tinnitus now for 6 months. It all started when I did a few lines of cocaine in November of 2007. Shortly after I developed serious sinus problems where I had major swelling on the inside of my nose along with pain on the bridge. And then........I woke up with ringing in my ears 1 1/2 weeks later. The ringing got louder as the sinus problems continued. Short of 3 sinus infections to date I really don't have too much to complain about with my sinuses.
867954 tn?1356900863 I've had chronic sinus infections pretty much for years. I got a new doctor lately, who is a lot faster at seeing me, etc. Anyway, long story short lately I hear at times a thumping noise in my right ear mainly, it's only happened in the left a handful of times. When it happens in the right, it usually goes on for 24 hours at a time, obviously annoying enough to cause me some loss of sleep, aggravation, etc.
Avatar m tn He also gave me an anti-inflammatory and FLONASE. Just shortly after the third visit I had the most intense swelling and pain on the inside of my nose that I’ve ever experienced in my life. It was so bad that I went to the E.R. They just confirmed that my Doctor had me on the right prescriptions. The swelling would cause involuntary gag reflexes periodically along with a dry cough. I've finished all the meds execpt for the FLONASE.
Avatar n tn There are many reasons for post nasal drip and tinnitus. If your nose is still running, could it be sinusitis? Do notice any weird smells from your nose? Headaches? A chronic sinus infection will cause post nasal drip. But it could be that one month with Flonase isn't long enough to get your symptoms under control. I would say 2 months would be more reasonable to decide if there is something else. this type of therapy takes a while for things to set in.
Avatar f tn Once every year I would get it for a week and take flonase and it would go away. This year I got it again around the same time, but instead of flonase my doctor prescribed nasonex. Later the doctor gave me flonase and it hasn't helped. I'm thoroughly frustrated and worn out. If you find out anything about it please let me now. I'm so sorry for you having to go through all that, but I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one out there.
Avatar m tn At some point after that I started having headaches and felt dizzy from time to time... and now it is getting worse. I had an MRI because of the headaches and it was clear and I also met with an ENT regarding the ear issues and he did not seem to think anything was wrong... My question is... Is the fluid build up in the ear that causes Menieres CLEAR to see or can an ENT miss this when doing a normal examination? I only ask because my ENT did not seem to think there was anything amiss...
Avatar n tn I've had this EXACT same thing since mid March. Started out with pain and ringing in the left ear, swollen gland behind it. Then moved to the right ear. Accompanied with a sinus infection and severe sinus pressure. Sinus infection has went away, glands are no longer swollen, still crunching and ringing in both ears. My doctor put me on a round a antibiotics and didn't help. ENT doctor said it was tinnitus, although I have no hearing loss.
Avatar m tn I am a 50 year old male with intermittent/ mild tinnitus and slight fullness in my right ear since January.. With the death of my father on May 6, 2016 the condition got worse. I have tried Zyrtec, neomycin ear drops, amoxicillin at first. I woke up one morning and I suddenly developed a sensation of fullness in my R ear and ringing. ( low pitched roaring sound).Nothing that preceded it as far as I can tell. No colds or infections or anything. There was no vertigo.
Avatar n tn I have had a stuffy feeling in my right ear for over a year now, can't pop it, no issue hearing, just feels stuffy. Like before you pop your ears on a plane. I've been to 3 ENTS, as well as my primary care. Initially I was told there had probably been an ear infection and that several rounds of Flonase would empty out the remaining liquid, plus some antibiotics for good measure.
Avatar m tn s the reason for my symptoms, also he said that in ear time, my symptoms are relatively new, and it could take more time for them to go away, and then he decided to order an MRI of the brain, which came back negative. Remaining tests he ordered is allergy test and tinnitus audio calibration test, and then a follow up with him. He also prescribed me medication: Flonase nasal spray, Amoxicillin antibiotics and Prednisolone 10 mg.
Avatar f tn I have had your symptoms as well, and I gave up on doctors and am trying to treat myself. (Doing better, thanks) I think I have some permanent damage to at least one blood vessel in my left eye. While I'm on that, I also had a "mattering" problem as well. I think you are right, there could be one cause, why believe a group of people that can't fix the problem, at least that's my philosophy.
Avatar m tn I used flonase for a week and got better with my cough and then I stopped. Afterwards my cough came back and I saw a doctor and he told me do not use flonase which makes me cough. I am confused?
Avatar m tn Im 41 yr old asian male im having this problem of tinnitus and dizzy spells that started last oct.
Avatar f tn 2002) Advancing age may also be accompanied by inner ear damage and tinnitus. Many medications also can cause tinnitus (see list below). Generally this is thought to arise from their effect on the cochlea (inner ear).
Avatar m tn I have a esophagus condition and was told to take flonase and spray 2 shots in my mouth twice a day. Flonase is a steroid and it helps with the inflammation. I had difficulty swallowing to the point of choking and passing out and this has helped me tremendously.
Avatar f tn t been feeling well. You can always call and ask your doctor these questions for guidance. Flonase is known to reduce nasal inflammation over time. The best thing is to blow your nose prior to using it and then wait as long as you possibly can before blowing your nose again. The longer you wait, the better chance the Flonase has of being absorbed into your nasal cavity. The most common recommendation is 15 to 30 minutes to wait to blow your nose after using. https://www.webmd.
7469840 tn?1409845836 My suggestion is forget about it and let time heal. Every heavy drug treatment has possible long term effects. But my tinnitus has retracted to a less noticeable hiss and happens less often. So I expect in time the tinnitus will go away.
Avatar n tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-drug.htm. Is this prescribed to decreases swelling or to attend to the sinus issue contributing to the swelling?
Avatar n tn ve had such a tough time with sinus headaches, allergies (watery eyes, plugged ears and tinnitus) and fatigue that I finally went to an ear-nost-throat doctor last week. He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on.
Avatar n tn If Zoloft curbs stress and anxiety, and stress aggravates tinnitus, there may be just a cause and effect relationship, and not necessarily a medical relationship between the two. I'm sure other health factors could be involved as well.
Avatar n tn I generally take Flonase. About a week ago the allergies and sinuses really got a hold of me and i had horrible sinus pressure, felt really spacey, had ear fullness and pain, felt a little off but no ear infection. I got put on a antibiotic. I then just started the Flonase back up. One day i felt short of breath off and on. I also took a Zyrtec. I almost went to the hospital because i felt bad and felt like my allergies/ sinuses were causing it. I also have anxiety.
Avatar n tn I have had a thyroid issue for 9 years and I have dealt with Tinnitus on and off throughout. Last night I woke up with major ringing in my left ear and I would say a 25% loss in hearing. I went to the doctor this morning they do believe it may be caused by the Thyroid since I am way off still on my labwork results. Also, I do notice and I don't know if this is part of it but when I drink alcohol I tend to get the ringing that night and last night I had a glass of wine while out.
Avatar n tn Twice in the last six months using Flonase my mouth filled with blood from sinuses. Is another medication for sinusitis available?
Avatar m tn Thank you for sharing your comments with me. My ENT has me on Flonase and suggested ear tubes as a last resort. I can accept living with the ringing if I can get rid of these other symptoms, the congestion, the "wet" ears and the sound sensitivity. Glad to know I am not alone and I hope there is a light at the end of the tunnel for you as well.
