Avatar m tn I used flonase for a week and got better with my cough and then I stopped. Afterwards my cough came back and I saw a doctor and he told me do not use flonase which makes me cough. I am confused?
464237 tn?1315670793 t want the infection to get even worse. How is it ok to use flonase for bacterial infection? Have any of you used flonase for infection. My infection is not allergy related, it came from a cold that was going around. Thanks so much for reading. and yes I have been using nasal irrigation along with all of the other home remedies I have found on the internet.
Avatar n tn I've had this for about 4 years. Dr. says to use Flonase daily, so just started it. I think it might be from sinus but I have no symptoms.
Avatar f tn t been feeling well. You can always call and ask your doctor these questions for guidance. Flonase is known to reduce nasal inflammation over time. The best thing is to blow your nose prior to using it and then wait as long as you possibly can before blowing your nose again. The longer you wait, the better chance the Flonase has of being absorbed into your nasal cavity. The most common recommendation is 15 to 30 minutes to wait to blow your nose after using. https://www.webmd.
Avatar n tn Twice in the last six months using Flonase my mouth filled with blood from sinuses. Is another medication for sinusitis available?
Avatar m tn So the prednisone and flonase haven't done much to help so far. I know it's peak pollen and allergy season right now in the mid-atlantic but it makes me worry. Today has been worse than any day in the past few weeks.
Avatar m tn I've had an upper respiratory infection for about a week. Went to the doctor this morning with severe ear pain, no infection, just inflammation due to the other infection. Was recommended Flonase, rest, and fluids. After I came home and took the Flonase I've had this really weird fizzing sensation off and on at the back of my throat all day. It feels like a handful of poprocks are at the top of my throat/back of my mouth. It's a really weird suggestion.
Avatar n tn t look cancerous to her. she said try using Flonase as a steroid and or Bactaide on it. I did so for a few days then kind of forgot. Upon finally inspecting it today, It looks like a cluster of 3 or so small white jagged firm peeks/lumps/bumps resembling either a cluster of something or a raised sore that cracked. It is almost pure white, but its in ways up my septum so its hard to see clearly. Most of the time it is not noticeable unless irritated.
Avatar f tn I have had allergies all my 62 years. My doctor a few years ago put on otc Flonase but now I have Cochlear hydrops in my left year .
Avatar f tn I am allergic to nine enviromental allergens and have been taking fluticasone propionate (flo-nase) for the past three monts and it's been working fine to treat sinus pressure, my only main symptom. However, since i started, i've noticed for the first time in as long as i remember that i've been getting thick nasal mucus either dark red or black, sometimes streaked and sometimes completely colored, while before it's always been thin and clear.
Avatar n tn Had problems for years. 3 days of Dymista, problem 95% gone!!!! Cost $200 for a month. Doc said this other prescription he gave me will do the same and should be cheaper. It's flonase spray and Astepro, spray ?? 15%.
Avatar n tn This is by far my worst allergy year ever..but really only in my eyes. I wake up to red, runny eyes that are super itchy. I was itching so hard that I wrinkled my eye membrane..freaky! I went through virtuwell and they said it was allergic conjunctivitis prescribing Olopatadine drops. Its been about 6 days now and no real relief. I've tried Zyrtec, Flonase, Benedryl and now Claratin with very limited relief. Anyone have a magic combination that works?
Avatar f tn Than you for your information. Guess I am not making myself clear, but could long term use of Flonase be the cause of the follicultis? Thank you.
Avatar n tn Hi I have been dealing with sinus pressure/fluid for the past 3 years. I've been diagnosed with bipolar type 2, and every time I swing into a manic/depressive side I feel like there's a "lever" that snaps and releases fluid into the sinuses that is not supposed to be there. Normally I have to deal with the mania/mood swing for several months to years, then the "lever" magically switches back and releases all the fluid immediately.
Avatar f tn t take really any allergy meds due to issues with tachycardia and palpitations. My doctor suggested Flonase, but I am allergic to sulfur (used a sulfur mask once and my whole face swelled huge, used to have to brush me teeth with sulfur water and my entire mouth would get blisters) and I noticed that Flonase contains sulfur in its makeup. Can I use it?
Avatar f tn Have you been tested for any bacterial infections, like Strep throat? Bad smells are sometimes associated with bacterial infections. If it's not getting better, you should definitely go back to the doctor instead of self-medicating with Flonase. If it's not allergies, Flonase won't help and might make the situation worse.
Avatar m tn Hi for the last year I've had troubles breathing. I sometimes feel I'm having heart issues and run to er, finally i Had some heart work up that was negative. I finally visited a ENT for my allergies and he noticed I have a deviated septum and large turbinates. Is it normal to breath from one nostril at a time with the other cometly blocked or is that an indication of imflamation in the sinuses. I do get alot of nasle poping everymorning and its like good relief when they pop.
Avatar f tn Flonase, is that for nasal congestion? I have tried it for chronic night time nasal congestion... it "sort of" works. Has it worked well for you, bump aside? I love Afrin, but it can not be used more than a few days in a row. I have pushed it too far and have suffered some rebound. I understand Flonase/Generic does not risk "rebound".
Avatar f tn Flonase...isn't that addictive?? Just use a netti pot. I think there are low dose zinc lozenges and supplements. I'd get a 2nd opinion r research more, but imho & recent experience: sore throat came on and went away on its own. So how about just trying a little extra water and orange juice, or squeeze fresh lemon into warm or hot water? Would you give your baby flonase for stuffy nose? If not, don't use it for yourself either. Think about the fact that you can have a baby...
1939607 tn?1324289300 yeast infections of the throat and sinus problems (also Flonase side-effects). Almost all mentioned taking Flonase or similar nasal sprays for the initial illness (cold or sinus infection). I believe that people start taking the flonase to help cold/flu/sinus infection, and then it gives us this traveling, achy sore in the Eustachian tubes. I often cough up these dry little patches after a cold, like tiny white scabs.
Avatar f tn I've never had allergies of any kind. Then I noticed my nose was runny sometimes. Sneezing some. Nothing alarming. Then I woke up and was having trouble swallowing - felt like something was stuck in my throat. Doc said there was tons of drainage - the diagnosis: allergies. I started zyrtec and flonase, and got a HEPA air purifier. I've had that for about 2 weeks. Annnd now I've developed ear infections in BOTH ears due to the allergies, even taking all that and with the filter.
Avatar n tn I remember with DS #2 I was on claritan (I think) and flonase nasal spray. I would talk with your doctor to get a better idea of whats safe or not.
Avatar n tn Moved to Chicago several years ago from Phoenix so the doctor suggested that I may be suffering from allergies as a result. Blood test confirmed grass allergy. Have been using Flonase (SP?) for about 1 month coupled with nasal rinsing system but still have the ringing and drainage. Should I be worried about another culprit besides allergies causing these awful symptoms?? In addition, is there any other over-the-counter meds that may be of use. Thank you.
Avatar f tn No worries! I've had 2 sinus infections and this past wk a kidney infection, the flu and pneumonia. Was hospitalized for 9 days. I've been on major doses of meds and they are all safe for pregnancy! I've also been on Flonase and double dose of the z pack. Along with many other meds. They were all prescribed by my obgyn and they said no worries for anything. Dr's are very cautious when prescribing meds during pregnancy!
Avatar m tn My 5yr old son has always been a good eater. Pretty much eats anything. For the last 2 weeks he has been eating very little, chewing it forever and then seems to have a problem swallowing it. He doesn't complain of a sore throat or stomach ache. We took him to the doctor to check and see if he had strep. He didn't. He was a little stuffy and the doctor gave him Flonase to help clear things out in the hopes this would help. She said to give it a week and then give her a call.
