Flomax when to take

Common Questions and Answers about Flomax when to take

flomax

Avatar n tn Yes, prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate gland. It seems to be getting easier to urinate, and I've noticed that flomax is sometimes proscribed for prostate issues, so perhaps doubling my dosage on that was a good idea.
Avatar m tn While taking Flomax or Proscar, does this have an effect on getting HARD.
Avatar m tn The Flomax was not working very well, initially and my MD switched me to Jalyn, mostly because of the CombaT Study which looked at combination regimens for BPH. The Jalyn (Flomax & Avodart) does a GREAT job and I am pretty much symptom free. My thought was that switching to Avodart alone would leave me with one less drug going into my system, keep my good results, and, hopefully reduce the IFIS risk.
Avatar m tn He told me that he had discussed the problem he had had with my eye with a colleague( when I mentioned the Flomax thing to him) and his friend had said that he was sure that I was on Flomax. He said that he had heard about it before but, to quote him, ``He always Poo Poohed the idea`` Anyway, let`s hope things go well with the next procedure now that he knows what to expect.
1580703 tn?1651904887 It just relaxes the smooth muscles of the urethra to aid in smooth flow of the urine. Though flomax may lead to sexual dysfunction and retrograde ejaculation, the effects are unlikely to be permanent. Hope the information is helpful. Take care!
Avatar m tn Can flomax have impact on your sleeping behavior.
Avatar m tn what is happening is that the semen is being released into your bladder. The flomax is designed to relax the urinary sphincter muscle so the semen, when you ejaculate, takes the path of least resistance- which is into your bladder... it's a weird concept but that is what is happening.
Avatar m tn Stopping the Flomax at this stage really doesn't help. The effects on the iris are basically permanant by now. I would concentrate on finding the best cataract surgeon on your plan and make sure he or she has done dozens and dozens of Flomax cases and is very comortable with the management. Dr. David Chang in Los Altos, CA has written extensively on the best techniques to manage such cases.
Avatar m tn I have SEVERE lower back pain(Continually) my doctor gave me Cipro (Antibiotic) thinking perhaps I had an infection, I've finally taken all the antibiotic, however the lower back pain still present. Are there other proven symptoms I may have that I am not aware of, doesn't hurt when I urinate, however I don't always empty my bladder, I take Flomax(without Flomax I probably wouldn't even be able to go to the bathroom. Anyone experience this. Thank You.
Avatar n tn there might be side effects due to what your taking and of course getting back to normal ejaculation will indeed take time if you dont push yourself to control it.
Avatar n tn He takes 5 mg blood pressure med and he takes Flomax daily. When he first started taking Flomax; which he needs to be able to urinate or as he says to keep his plumbing working, anyway, he would have dizzy spells. His doctor said this was normal, a side effect of Flomax. But now lately he has been passing out; I think that is unusual for any medication and I'm worried there may be something else going on.
Avatar m tn can l take these pills together NEXUM 40MG 1 IN THE AM TAMSULOSIN = FLOMAX .
Avatar n tn and/or had surgery to make it useful. He said therefore, because of possible complications related to Flomax, Now, I would be risking my entire vision, not just vision in the one good eye! Many years ago, I was told by another opthamologist that the right eye was actually physically perfect, and would "probably take over automatically" if something disastrous ever occurred to my left eye! Today's doctor said that unfortunately, that is not true. What am I to believe?
Avatar m tn FWIW - my Dr said 1) stop taking flomax. I don't think he thinks highly of it 2) Don't take saw palmetto 3) that I'm a good candidate for a TURP. I'm doing a ct scan tomorrow, and next week we schedule the surgery. Yeah - the end is in sight!
Avatar m tn I did not associate it with flomax until recently. Is it harmful if I stop taking the flomax and is this the cause of my retro? This discussion is related to Retrograde Ejaculation from Flomax......permanent or not?.
Avatar n tn s from the Flomax my husband takes and that it will take longer for his vision to clear.(the Dr. was aware of the flomax before surg.) What has been your experience with this troublesome outcome? My husband is very discouraged.
Avatar m tn I suspect that the improvement I have experienced over the past two years is due to doubling up on Flomax rather than to Proscar, which might not be reducing the prostate to any significant degree.
Avatar f tn m having the same problem that your friend is having. I am unable to feel when I have to urinate, which is cause me to hold urine. I just had an indwelling cath placed today. I'm supposed to have it till next Tuesday. They are hoping I get my feeling back in that time and my bladder returns to it's normal size.
Avatar n tn I will be on a alpha blocker (rapaflo, similar to flomax) for several days prior to stent removal. It is supposed to relax the ureter. Will rapaflo prevent the severe pain or just not make it last as long? Not sure what expectations are for this medication.
Avatar m tn Flomax can reduce the amouht of seman that you produce. It would be unusual though to have this production reduced down to zero unless the man was ejaculating very often. In general terms Flomax is a useful medication with very few side-effects..
Avatar n tn The only remarkable change has been starting on Flomax, so it would be a strange coincidence to suddenly develop a urinary infection. Can Flomax have anything to do with this? He is inclined to suspend it if only on the basis of no results, but now this new turn of events is worrying him.
187666 tn?1331173345 Quick question for anyone who's been through this: how long does it take once a stone passes for the blood in the urine to stop? Long story short: have had obvious blood in urine for just over a year now, tests revealed nothing till a month or two ago. Found a stone lodged in right kidney. Last Tues. night ended up in ER. Seems like stone finally decided to migrate south into the ureter but not out into the bladder yet. Not sure if I'll know when it passes.
Avatar n tn I'm a male, 26 years old. For the past two weeks it's been a nightmare. All day long it feels like I have to go pee. When I do, I'm relieved for about 5 minutes, then the feeling comes back. You know when you have to pee really bad, and it almost hurts, that's how I've been feeling. I've been to the doctor, they took a urinalysis, and nothing showed up. So the next thing they did, was check my prostate. They said it was enlarged. So the diagnosis was prostatitis.
Avatar m tn light headness after cataract surgery and Dr was told about Flomax of which I am still on 2 years later
Avatar f tn Yes, when I have a stone or stones, I'll have a much more frequent urge to urinate than when I don't have a stone. I've also experienced a very slight burning sensation at times with a stone too. Are you on anything like Flomax? I've noticed a more frequent urge since I've been taking Flomax too. Not sure if that's the Flomax, or just my age coming into play.LOL!
Avatar n tn I've been taking tamsulosin for 3 or 4 years now after my urologist prescribed it for BPH. I've slowly started having leakage issues lately where I will have a strong sudden urge to urinate and have a difficult time holding it until I can get to a toilet. Sometimes some urine leaks out and other times the urge will pass and I can wait before racing to the toilet.
