flomax

Avatar f tn I was hoping that it somehow moved during that renal colic,Did you have a renal colic?or how did you discover your hydronephrosis?I hope it will go away on its on .Did they remove yours?
Avatar n tn The resulting obstruction with dilation or stretching of the upper ureter and renal pelvis as well as spasm of muscle, trying to move the stone, can cause severe episodic pain, most commonly felt in the flank, lower abdomen and groin (a condition called renal colic). Renal colic can be associated with nausea and vomiting. ref:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kidney_stones An ultra-sound scan will confirm the diagnosis.
1223946 tn?1281392358 HI there, I really feel for you. Renal colic is the most horrendous pain imaginable. I had renal colic for 10 months and I was climbing the walls at times. I have tried acupuncture for neck pain and it really works. The pain recedes for a while so i would definately give it a go. Also, have you thought about clinical hypnotherapy? Pain makes anxiety levels increase, which increases the pain and then it starts a cycle. Hypnotherapy is like a deep sense of relaxation.
Avatar m tn stones that small can pass through the urethra usually fine. The pain you are experiencing usually itsn't from the stone itself its usually from renal colic or hydronephrosis or swelling of the kidney/ureter. Its possible they could also be in the bladder.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with BPH a year ago and was given Flomax. I had to go to Iceland and forgot my Flomax. My friend was taking a local product available over the counter called SAGAPRO made from a herb called Angelica. I used it and to my suprise...it worked. It even works better than Flomax! Do you know why this herb is so good for the prostate? Are their any side effects....I have noticed I am breathing better and also sleeping better. I have not used my inhaler since I have been on the sagapro.
Avatar m tn If you feel colicky renal pain, you should do a renal color Doppler ultrasound to check your kidney and ureter to see if there is kidney stones or ureter stones, impaction of a stone at any of these sites causes severe pain, known as renal colic, usually felt in the abdomen or side, and often tracking down to the groin
Avatar m tn There could be hematuria, blood in the urine when the stone is passed. The renal colic it occurs as episodes of pain recurring in nature. The pain is spasmodic in nature as the ureter is trying to push through the obstruction, which is usually a renal stone. The ureter is the tubular structure that connects the kidney to the bladder. So each time the urine tries to pass through the obstruction it causes severe pain.
Avatar f tn Thank you for reply,l did actually resend my question attached to another thread on this forum. I apologise l didnt realise you had answered the above. I have jst been to another doctor as l had blood tests performed (not for kidneys they were general well being tests etc),my calcium level, diabetes, cholestoral etc etc everything was normal and great. Doctor therefore doubts it's a calcium stone and suspects uric acid stone??
Avatar m tn Hi, i had a renal colic and went through a series of urine tests and had a high amount of RBC in the urine. Later took Xray and USscan non of which showed any signs of a calculi excpt the final CTkub (Non ivu) which showed a 4mm stone. The dr.prescribed Urimax and thank the lord, the stone passed out in almost 30days. During which time i also concurrently developed similar pains on the other side but was ruled out there cant be a stone as the CT did not indicate so.
Avatar m tn The resulting obstruction with dilation or stretching of the upper ureter and renal pelvis as well as spasm of muscle, trying to move the stone, can cause severe episodic pain, most commonly felt in the flank, lower abdomen and groin (a condition called renal colic). Renal colic can be associated with nausea and vomiting due to the embryological association of the kidneys with the intestinal tract. Hematuria (bloody urine) is commonly present due to damage to the lining of the urinary tract”.

5160575 tn?1364509880 Hello and Sorry for the late reply. It may not be related, the bowel movements and problems with urination. Gas can get trapped if there is an obstruction to the bowel or if the mobility of the colon is impaired. The pain could be renal colic. Small stones can obstruct the passage of urine and when the body tries to 'push' against the blockade this results in colic, which is severe attacks of pain.
Avatar m tn My gynecologist did a pelvic ultrasound which was completely normal. She thought it could be kidney stones. I went to the er in pain and they did a renal and aortic ultrasound which were normal. I went to the er again a few days later still in pain and they did a ct scan. They told me I had several small stones in each kidney but they weren't the cause of my pain and they sent me home. I am at a complete loss! I continue to have these pains nonstop.
Avatar f tn In addition the therapy for renal stones depends on the size, the location and the kidney functions. Please consult your primary care physician who will do blood tests, x- rays and may ask for an ultrasonogram to find out the cause for stone formation. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Yeah it usually is and I wouldnt delay getting to your doc/hospital, however if you have no luck and its not that then consider, renal colic and kidney stones, gallstones/gallbladder as well as much more rarely a thoracic disc herniation at t8 to t12 would be overlooked by most docs as so rare.. I had the same thing and it turned out that I am in the one in two million people with thoracic hernations pressing on the nerves that innervate the right abdominal area!
1310468 tn?1274863925 It can be a bad case of acidity, renal colic due to stone or colitis. Please consult a doctor immediately. Take omeprazole and antacids and see if it helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn The doctor removed the stent two weeks later. About 12 hours after the removal, I went into renal colic. The severe pain lasted about 24 hours, and four days later, I still have pain (though manageable) on my left side -- most often in my back, sometimes in front, sometimes both places. How long should I expect this pain to last? Is it possible I'm having a complication?
