Avatar f tn I was hoping that it somehow moved during that renal colic,Did you have a renal colic?or how did you discover your hydronephrosis?I hope it will go away on its on .Did they remove yours?
Avatar n tn The resulting obstruction with dilation or stretching of the upper ureter and renal pelvis as well as spasm of muscle, trying to move the stone, can cause severe episodic pain, most commonly felt in the flank, lower abdomen and groin (a condition called renal colic). Renal colic can be associated with nausea and vomiting. ref:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kidney_stones An ultra-sound scan will confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn I had x-rays showing I had a small kidney stone proximately 2 mm in my upper left kidney. I had some signs of blood in my urine now are four months down the road and every once in a while, I will still show blood in my urine and I don’t know if I’ve ever passed the stone. My question is if a stone is forming, but not moving can it cause blood in urine?
1223946 tn?1281392358 HI there, I really feel for you. Renal colic is the most horrendous pain imaginable. I had renal colic for 10 months and I was climbing the walls at times. I have tried acupuncture for neck pain and it really works. The pain recedes for a while so i would definately give it a go. Also, have you thought about clinical hypnotherapy? Pain makes anxiety levels increase, which increases the pain and then it starts a cycle. Hypnotherapy is like a deep sense of relaxation.
Avatar m tn stones that small can pass through the urethra usually fine. The pain you are experiencing usually itsn't from the stone itself its usually from renal colic or hydronephrosis or swelling of the kidney/ureter. Its possible they could also be in the bladder.
Avatar m tn If you feel colicky renal pain, you should do a renal color Doppler ultrasound to check your kidney and ureter to see if there is kidney stones or ureter stones, impaction of a stone at any of these sites causes severe pain, known as renal colic, usually felt in the abdomen or side, and often tracking down to the groin
Avatar m tn There could be hematuria, blood in the urine when the stone is passed. The renal colic it occurs as episodes of pain recurring in nature. The pain is spasmodic in nature as the ureter is trying to push through the obstruction, which is usually a renal stone. The ureter is the tubular structure that connects the kidney to the bladder. So each time the urine tries to pass through the obstruction it causes severe pain.
Avatar f tn Understand your predicament, the pain is very severe and is referred to as renal colic. It occurs as episodes of pain recurring in nature. Avatar m tn Hi, i had a renal colic and went through a series of urine tests and had a high amount of RBC in the urine. Later took Xray and USscan non of which showed any signs of a calculi excpt the final CTkub (Non ivu) which showed a 4mm stone. The dr.prescribed Urimax and thank the lord, the stone passed out in almost 30days. During which time i also concurrently developed similar pains on the other side but was ruled out there cant be a stone as the CT did not indicate so.
Avatar f tn One rare side effect of taking this drug is Henoch-Schonlein purpura which can cause vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal distension, hematuria, renal colic etc.Aspirin is a blood thinning drug which can cause haematuria. If the haematuria is significant seek the opinion of a urologist. I sincerely hope it helps. Take care and kind regards!
Avatar m tn The resulting obstruction with dilation or stretching of the upper ureter and renal pelvis as well as spasm of muscle, trying to move the stone, can cause severe episodic pain, most commonly felt in the flank, lower abdomen and groin (a condition called renal colic). Renal colic can be associated with nausea and vomiting due to the embryological association of the kidneys with the intestinal tract. Hematuria (bloody urine) is commonly present due to damage to the lining of the urinary tract”.

Avatar m tn • 19 days after, I am drinking a lot (2-3l fluids), taking normal dose of tamsulosin in the evening (0.4mg) (will soon try to stop this under medical recommendation) plus distigmine bromide (5mg) in the morning (1 every 2 days after the first week) for the hypotonic bladder. • Can empty 350-450ml typically at night (but going 3-4 times!) but also during day, this looks good. Had peaks at 500ml and even 600ml. Frequency is high as going about every hour.
Avatar m tn My nocturia is getting worse. I must sleep in a chair because to lie flat in bed makes my bladder go constantly. Until recently, I could sleep an hour or a little less in bed. I do have a sleep apnea problem, and have needed antibiotics for bladder infection last month and the month before. My doctor gave me Omnic Tocas to relax the prostrate but it doesn't reduce the frequency. During the day I have been rather normal until recently, but lying flat in bed triggers it.
Avatar f tn Pain in the lower right area may be from inflamed glands, appendicitis, renal colic or muscular problem. Have to lifted or moved anything heavy before this pain came on? As you are also feeling unwell, I suggest you make an appointment to see your doctor to get the correct diagnosis. Take a morning urine sample with you. You could use a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel to stop skin burn and place this on the painful side and take pain relief as directed on the packet.
5160575 tn?1364509880 Hello and Sorry for the late reply. It may not be related, the bowel movements and problems with urination. Gas can get trapped if there is an obstruction to the bowel or if the mobility of the colon is impaired. The pain could be renal colic. Small stones can obstruct the passage of urine and when the body tries to 'push' against the blockade this results in colic, which is severe attacks of pain.
Avatar f tn A renal colic possibly related to stones.
Avatar f tn Do you have stones in your urinary tract? Tamsulosin can treat that, but isn't usually given for an uncomolicated UTI. I can't tell you to stop taking it, but you should absolutely let your doctor know about your retrograde ejaculation, and find out if you had stones. Never hesitate to contact your doctor. They want to know about your side effects and how you're doing. It helps them do their jobs better.
Avatar f tn A cloudy urine is indicative of an infection. If your urine is dark in colour it may have blood in it, may be from certain foods like beetroot, and also can indicate that you are not drinking enough water. Because you were sent for a CT scan for your chest, the nurse was only dealing with that. I suggest you make an appointment to see your doctor with regard to the kidney stone and discuss that with your doctor.
