Avatar n tn I know this is age-related, but could there be other factors? He is not overweight and is in good physical condition. He takes medication for high cholesterol, but he has been taking that for several years. He has no other limiting physical conditions or health problems. He is a farmer and, particularly in the summer, he puts in long hours. I don't think he's particularly under a lot of stress.
Avatar m tn Let your doctor know if you develop these symptoms while using silodosin and they do not go away on their own or they become troublesome. Avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medication affects you, and use caution when getting up from a sitting or lying position. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
1415321 tn?1306973553 They did a dipstick pee test which revealed traces of blood. So, they diagnosed me with a kidney stone, gave me Flomax, ibuprofen and nausea medicine and sent me home. Said that I might have already passed a stone or could be passing one soon. I got home and started researching kidney stones. First, the the doctor was very nonchalant in my diagnosis, stating that it was super common to have kidney stones and to just come back in 7 days if I didn’t feel better.
Avatar m tn I was also given a bladder spasm prevention medication every day, an antibiotic, and valium. I was told that the valium was to make sleep easier so that discomfort would not wake me up. I was sent home with pain medicine, antibiotic, valium, and the bladder spasm medicine. I also have the two catheters that the surgeon told me I would have - a newly replaced suprapubic tube, and a regular foley catheter from the penis.
Avatar m tn Seemed to be no correlation to food, activity, bed, medication. Xrays on back, ultrasound on kidneys and cat scan ll came back negative. 5 days ago, my doctor started me on a test run of Flomax. Mind you, I have no urinary symptoms whatsoever. Not particularly frequent, no pain in that area, no burning....pretty much normal. Prostate seems normal (I'm a male in my mid 40s). Anyhow, the Doc said it was a longshot but maybe it is prostate related.
Avatar n tn mitral valve prolapse (no meds), hypothyroidism (synthroid), depression (Wellbutrin), anxiety (Xanax--occasionally), and recurrent UTIs for which I'm on a maintenance antibiotic and flomax---just in case that provides any clues. Oh... and I HAVE been very stressed over the last few years, to the point where I've been concerned it might affect my health.
Avatar m tn Only the Alpha Blockers worked, of which there are several types, Tamsulosin (Flomax), Doxazosin, Terazosin and others. I'm not in a relationships right now, but I do also dread having to strip off in front of a woman, when I do find one. I guess I'll have to take the alpha blockers or Viagra beforehand. Doctors don't have a clue about this. I have asked several Urologists, and they just say it's normal !
