Flomax dosage medication

Common Questions and Answers about Flomax dosage medication

flomax

Avatar n tn In my opinion, sounds like the flomax which he probably is taking for his prostate. Either the dosage should be decreased or the medication changed completely. Does he have a heart issue, a bp issue or just this prostate issue? He definitely needs to have this followed up with a physician; good luck with that.
Avatar m tn It would be unusual though to have this production reduced down to zero unless the man was ejaculating very often. In general terms Flomax is a useful medication with very few side-effects..
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing retrograde ejaculation from taking Flomax and Uroxatral for several years. Will normal ejaculation return if I stop the medication? How long will it take?
Avatar n tn I'm a male, age 18, and I'm having a whole lot of trouble urinating. I've had trouble with this in the past, but god, it's never been this bad. A few years ago I first noticed difficulty peeing at my ex girlfriend's house. Looking into the condition, I figured it must be paruresis. However, last year, after getting surgery (I had a pilonidal sinus removed), I found that I COULD NOT pee when I got home.
Avatar n tn Age 64, with flomax I experience no pleasure with my orgasms. Is this because of the retrograd ejac. or is it a side effect of the medication? I may need to have surgery to improve my urinary flow, but retrograde ejac is a common outcome of these surgeries, and I need to know if I am at risk for losing my orgasm pleasure . I do see an occasional posting of men who have lost their pleasure after these surgeries, with no recourse.
Avatar m tn I hear ya... I've been on .4 Flomax since January and its hard to get off of it. It basically tells the bladder neck muscles = "ok we are going to do your job now, take a break"... so to speak.. but when you stop it seems neither the muscles or the drug obviously are doing the job and they tighten back up and I get he urine retention again... Its very frustrating because I was doing exceptionally well before trying to stop.
Avatar n tn I'm not sure where you're getting the info that stent removal has all this pain attached to it. Have you had a stent before and had severe pain when it was removed? I've had a stent and there was discomfort when it was removed but not the severe pain you are indicating. There may be a burning sensation for a day or two afterwards when urinating, and even then the amount of that burning sensation differs from person to person and male to female.
Avatar m tn 1. Do not stop taking avodart. That medication and other like it such as flomax can cause "floppy iris syndrome" here's the deal even if you stop it can still happen so don't stop. The eye surgeon needs to know ahead of time you're on the medicine so special drops and techniques can be used. 2. Swimming is BAD after surgery and should be avoided. I ask my patients not to swim for 6 weeks.
Avatar n tn I am not sure if this is the right place to post this question? It kind of overlaps with the ED forum?. I was given a low dosage of Muse 250 MCG and it didn't work quite well. So I actually used two applications (500 MCG), and it gave me a UTI. The physician feared priapism and gave me the low dosage. Was the use of the application twice dangerous to the urethra? Should I try a 1000MCG? I am not sure about the carvaject injections? I actually heard a high risk of priapism.
Avatar m tn yes my left testicAL IS TURNING HARD AS STONE BUT ONLY ON ONE END, THIS IS THE SMALLER ONE OF THE TWO, I WENT TO SEE MY DOCTOR ABOUT FREQUINT TRIPS TO THE BATHROOM EVERY NIGHT , HE GAVE ME MEDICATION TO RELAX MY PROSTATE WHICH IS FLOMAX 0.4 MG, NOW I HAD A FULL PHYSICAL THAT DAY AND HE DIDNT NOTICE THE HARDNESS OF THE TESTICAL AND NITHER DID I UNTLL THE OTHER NIGHT. IS THE FLOMAX CAUSING THIS? AND IS THIS SOMETHING I NEED TO BE WORRIED ABOUT?
Avatar n tn I can't use Flomax or other alpha blockers due to side effects -- disturbed sleep. Uroxatral even caused me to sleepwalk 15 feet from a nap on the sofa one evening, waking when I fell flat on my face in the next room! Separately, due to a Vitamin D deficiency my doc found, he put me on 50,000 units Vitamin D per week for 8 weeks, followed by biweekly doses. And guess what...the Vitamin D almost instantly "cured" the BPH.
Avatar m tn I did not associate it with flomax until recently. Is it harmful if I stop taking the flomax and is this the cause of my retro? This discussion is related to Retrograde Ejaculation from Flomax......permanent or not?.
Avatar f tn This spring, I passed 3 years without having a stone, which for me is great! I used to get one or more a year. I also started taking a medication called FloMax prescribed for me by the VA Urologist and it seems to be working great, in conjunction with the bottled water. There is a generic brand for FloMax that is cheaper too. I'd sure look into getting on a daily FloMax regiment and watching what kind of water I was drinking.
Avatar m tn I started noticing my Testicles hang lower now and not tight anymore since I have been using this medication.. Could this be from the use of Tamsulosin?
Avatar m tn While taking Flomax or Proscar, does this have an effect on getting HARD.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I was given cipro and Flomax for pelvic pain and a UTI. the pain was through the whole pelvis and also individual veins or spermatic cord. does Flomax permanently shrink your prostate or reduce testosterone levels? I read one forum where people where saying they had a permanent loss of strength, could not throw the discus as far?
Avatar f tn However I have learned from the psychiatrists I have seen over the years who at times did allow me to lower the dosage of a medication if they felt I could maintain stability was that what can appear as if a person might not need a medication or a specific dose could easily be because it is working. Also I didnt feel the effect of the lowering of the medication until two weeks later because it took that long to get out of my bloodstream.
Avatar n tn , where normal for him means slow urination due to long standing BHP, but not as slow, painful, and dribbling as with Flomax. We are just guessing that the way Flomax works by relaxing muscles is causing these effects. (Could the enlarged prostate end up pressing even more on muscles?? I realize these are just guesses: I have looked at a lot of medical sites, but this does not look like to be listed as a side effect!
Avatar n tn Also I was taking some over the counter medication for frequent urination problems when I took the Chlamydia and Ghonorea test, would this affect the test?
Avatar m tn light headness after cataract surgery and Dr was told about Flomax of which I am still on 2 years later
