Avatar m tn A change of medication or dosage may be indicated. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn In my opinion, sounds like the flomax which he probably is taking for his prostate. Either the dosage should be decreased or the medication changed completely. Does he have a heart issue, a bp issue or just this prostate issue? He definitely needs to have this followed up with a physician; good luck with that.
Avatar n tn It kind of overlaps with the ED forum?. I was given a low dosage of Muse 250 MCG and it didn't work quite well. So I actually used two applications (500 MCG), and it gave me a UTI. The physician feared priapism and gave me the low dosage. Was the use of the application twice dangerous to the urethra? Should I try a 1000MCG? I am not sure about the carvaject injections? I actually heard a high risk of priapism.
284078 tn?1282620298 So, if you are taking Topamax or getting ready to increase you dose or considering starting it - please, please take my advice and remember that it can cause sudden worsening of your vision, and if an attack of narrow angle glaucoma starts, you can develop severe eye pain, extreme headache, nausea, vomiting and nearly complete loss of vision.
Avatar f tn Lately, his prostate has been severely inflamed, Urologist has upped his dosage of Flomax but he is still miserable. can't urinate sometimes. Also, he has severe dry eye and the eye doc said it was the worst he has ever seen. Eye doc put him on prednisone drops and put implants in his tear ducts, none which have really helped. Now it appears his salivary glands are drying up and he has constant back pain.
Avatar f tn Orthostatic hypotension could represent an adjustment to the medication and dosage. As could the confusion. Medications can take a while before there is a noticeable improvement in a persons condition. I think it's about 28 days for prozac.
Avatar m tn .5 mg Avodart daily .4 mg Flomax daily 5 mg Altace daily 75 mg Effexor XR daily 2 x 7.5 mg clorazepate daily. (I usually only take 1 since it's a long acting benzo) Now the hydro 10/500 3x daily as needed and the Flexeril Ambien CR as needed (Don't think it will be needed) The clorazepate and hydro really make me sleepy alone and I have never taken the Flexeril, so I have no clue. The Effexor even makes me a tad bit sleepy, but not too much.
Avatar n tn It was not until 1997 that I started an Opiate program and what a blessing it was to get some relief after 30 plus years. One commitment I made to myself before ever starting was to stay on the same dosage once the program began. I'm happy to say that after 14 years my dosage has not changed. It started at 40mg of Meth, with 30mg of morphine for breakout pain. Since that time other medications were required, like Cymbalta, Flomax, and a Statin among others.
Avatar m tn Let your doctor know if you develop these symptoms while using silodosin and they do not go away on their own or they become troublesome. Avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medication affects you, and use caution when getting up from a sitting or lying position. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
129317 tn?1189759421 I also have periodic premature atrial beats or PACs but these are not a serious problem. My Rx calls for 500mg x2 a day. Is it OK to start with x1/day and move up to the x2 dosage? Thanks for your comments or anyone else using Ranexa.
Avatar m tn have been prescribed zoloft but thought that before I start this 9 months course of medication I would exhaust all other options... Does anybody know anything about serelax? does it work... read up about it and it looks great. Has anyone got some real personal experiance with the stuff?
147426 tn?1317269232 or rev's up a set of enzymes in the liver that can metabolize other meds faster. Its called the P450 system. So if you take a medication that is handled and metabolized by the P450 system, your levels will drop of that other med while you take Tegretol. That other med may appear to lose its effectiveness. So, you guessed it. Oxybutynin is metabolized by the P450 system. If the P450 system is all rev'ed up, then Oxy will be elimated from the body faster.
Avatar m tn Honestly it's hard to nkow what ANY specific medication is doing any more because we're (I'm) on so many of them. Honestly since I take it every NIGHT with my Ambien CR but I don't really sleep well maybe it IS keeping me up and I don't know it? You know? It's just gotten to the point where it's impossible to tell unless one more is added at a time (but I started all these at the same time or so).
646318 tn?1261185094 As these cause the uric acid stones to form. Also your doctor can give you Flomax which will help you to pass large stones if needed. The med expands your ureters thus making them wider so a stone can more easily pass through. In December I had a 6mm stone that I passed using Flomax. It was painful for 3-4 weeks as the stone worked its way out but it beats a $30k operation and having tubes and other fun plumbing devices put inside you. Ouch!
Avatar n tn Hello, Do not believe the comment that erectile dysfunction & impotence can not occur thru a ureteral stent.! I was a 38 year old pretty healthy male with a satisfactory sex life,no ED nor impotence. I had kidney stones in Nov.06 & a ureteral stent implanted for less than a week by a urologist in the hospital. I was under severe pain in the hospital & under heavy medication.
Avatar n tn mitral valve prolapse (no meds), hypothyroidism (synthroid), depression (Wellbutrin), anxiety (Xanax--occasionally), and recurrent UTIs for which I'm on a maintenance antibiotic and flomax---just in case that provides any clues. Oh... and I HAVE been very stressed over the last few years, to the point where I've been concerned it might affect my health.
Avatar m tn Only the Alpha Blockers worked, of which there are several types, Tamsulosin (Flomax), Doxazosin, Terazosin and others. I'm not in a relationships right now, but I do also dread having to strip off in front of a woman, when I do find one. I guess I'll have to take the alpha blockers or Viagra beforehand. Doctors don't have a clue about this. I have asked several Urologists, and they just say it's normal !
Avatar n tn No medication I tried never made any difference. 2. The only thing that makes my condition improve is abstinence for a week or two (which drives me absolutely nuts). Sometimes, even 2 weeks isn't enough and blood still comes out. It seems the amount of time required to heal keeps increasing over the years. I find this part really hard to deal with. 3. When it happens, I always make sure I go urinate ASAP. The sooner the better because the blood clot gets bigger and stickier with time.
Avatar n tn its looking like that are various reasons for this wet warm sensation, as i dont take any medication and in general a healthy person, dont drink or smoke, practice yoga etc. Guess i will have to wait for my nerve test to get any further with mine. Gad things are looking better for you.
