Flexeril with alcohol

Common Questions and Answers about Flexeril with alcohol

flexeril

1653969 tn?1390331661 The instant sleep thing will go away after you establish a routine with it. Wish that I could really help you - but yours isnt a common complaint with flexeril. Do you do any breathing exercises? A couple of minutes of tai chi and meditation and particularly the breathing exercises are very valid therapies.
237152 tn?1206651036 Well I've never taken soma but have taken flexeril a lot, to help me sleep and to help with back spasms, I have never gotten any type of 'buzz' from it. Upon comparing the two on drugs.com under warning on soma it says not to take it if you have a history of alcohol or other substance abuse or dependence but under flexeril there is nothing of the sort. Hope that helps, Much Luv!!!
Avatar f tn And sorry to hear about your experience with Flexeril. I have not heard of any dependency issues of that drug before. It does make sense that your body can become accustom to any medication. Have you discussed this with your PCP? As Sandee said I don't know how many you are taking per day not the dose. I think I would just gradually reduce this medication. Are you sure the migraines are related to the discontinuation of the medication....or could their be another factor going on?
Avatar m tn You should be OK on those things but I would not start at the full doses of L-Tyrosine. Build up 500mg at a time and see how you do. You shouldn't need the valium with the Flexeril. Neurontin sometimes has helped with w/ds so that should actually benefit you.
Avatar f tn I've tried both Soma and Flexeril (not at same time!) for muscle relaxers (I have fibromyalgia, lupus, severe arthritis). Really the only side effect I've experienced with the Flexeril is that it makes me VERY sleepy, but when I'm hurting and having trouble getting the rest that I need, that actually is a good thing!
232328 tn?1207090071 Hi there. I was prescribed flexeril today for some back pain. Can anyone tell me exactly what it is? If it is addicting? Will it make me sleepy/hyper, etc?
Avatar m tn I just seen that you posted. Sorry so long to get back with you. The flexeril never helped me. It did not even make me sleepy. Why don't you call the posion control hotline and believe it or not they can help you. If not they can give you a number to call. If you don't want to do that call your local er and let them know what's going on for him.
Avatar m tn This sounds like exactly what I have been dealing with minus the alcohol. Six weeks ago I was sent to the rheumatologist. She said fibromyalgia gave me flexeril and said to find a psychiatrist. Opiates do not help and all of the "Specialists" think that they are all too special. I get the run around and nothing so far has helped. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn Before getting pregnant i was taking tramadol and flexeril to take the edge off if my jaw started locking up. Now my ob just has me on the lowest dose of flexeril but it seems to do nothing for it. Just 10 more weeks though i think i can make it if i've gotten this far.
757527 tn?1237893063 My doctor prescribed 5mg Flexeril daily. I took one last night and my pain went from a 8 (on a 10 scale) to about a 3. Has anyone else tried these? Can they be used long term? I'd rather not have to rely on medicine, but if this is helping me, I may have to stick with it. I also get myofascial massages, use warm heat, take Vit B50, and am trying some new supplements for muscles and joints.
Avatar n tn I've taken Flexeril with suboxone (because I had back pain and it seemed to take the edge off) but like the other person said, since you're seeing a Dr. anyway, just ask them. I definitely wouldn't drink and take the Flexeril and be on the suboxone. Do you abuse the Flexeril? I personally couldn't stand how stupid and tired I felt if I took too many (feeling stupid and tired isn't my thing), but some people enjoy that somehow.
Avatar m tn With Flexeril, yes it works but depends on what you taking along with it. For example don't take it with a benzo like xanax. Baclofen is very good. I even read that in higher doses it can be used for addictions like alcohol and maybe heroin. It was in the Wikipedia site for it. Was very i teresting read.
Avatar m tn m unsure of just how damaging Flexeril is to the kidneys. My only other medicine history has been with Ketoconazole, and that stuff is practically toxic for your liver.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed this for extreme violent muscle spasms. Dr said non narcotic non addictive. Well my experience with Dr and Percocet i no longer believe in their opinion. So experts can u give me truth. Thanks so much.
221387 tn?1210933058 You are OK with flexeril ..... it would take a specific test to find that. A basic screen is just looking for drugs that are popularly abused. And they are expensive to do.
Avatar f tn You never know if you will have a reaction to a medication and if it was not prescribed to you and you received it from someone else that person could potentially be in trouble with the law. I do not believe Flexeril is addictive. But, please call your doctor instead. That's just my two cents! WTG for being clean from vicodin for 3 weeks!!! AWESOME!!! Keep staying strong hun!!!! You know, Ibuprofen or naproxin works great too and you can get them over the counter. Good luck!!!
Avatar m tn I am new to this site, saw your post, and feel compelled to tell you about my experience with Flexeril. Several years ago I was having serious neck spasms, so my doctor prescribed Flexeril. I don't remember the milligram, it was standard, and I was to take 3 a day. The first day I took three, I found myself looking at my bottle of pain medication thinking about taking the whole bottle at once! I immediately threw the Flexeril in the trash.
Avatar f tn Thanks for sharing. I wasn't on Flexeril when I was DX with PVCs. I was taking in far too much caffeine.... my favorite drug! Nothing better then Hot Black Coffee in the morning and a Latte or two in the afternoon.... and I pay dearly for my caffeine addiction. I had looked up the side effects of Flexeril and were going to include them in my response to you. Forgot!! Must have been a menopausal moment!
Avatar f tn I have taken flexeril, could not take more than a 1/4 or I would feel very odd. Maybe that was a good thing. You can get a pill cutter and start cutting your dose. We aren't allowed to talk about how to dose hopefully you can get the jist of this. While trying to wean down I would up your vitamins. There is something called a Thomas Recipe but that is for narcotics,so not sure if it would work for you. Your muscles may need more magnesium than normal.
217599 tn?1202850952 Tramadol use is not advised if you have ever been addicted to anything/alcohol or narcotics/before...It is addictive and has many anti-depressive qualities...it is difficult to WD from...It is not as strong as the other opiates but the potential for abuse is there...You need to make a decision about it for yourself/all I can say is it is not advised...Have you tried heat, ice, massage, chiro, yoga, anti-inflammatories etc? Every 4 months I get trigger point injections...
Avatar n tn I will list them all and can you please tell me if they are safe to take with one another? My husband is only 38, he had a stroke last year he had a stent put in, now he is on plavix, atenolol, hydrochlorothiazide 25mg, last week his doc added niacin 500 mg, simvastatin 20, flexeril and tramadol, also his one aspirin each day, these are just so many meds, are they safe?
1460652 tn?1340248730 has anyone ever had pvcs/pacs while on the muscle relaxant flexeril? for the last couple of months my constant pvcs have been actually somewhat manageable, or at least tolerable. then i was involved in a car accident and was prescribed flexeril 7 days ago. the palps started 30 mins after the first pill. i just thought it was stress from the accident and "oh great, the skips are back"...until they became debilitating, and my bp dropped to 90/50, where as it is usually 115/75.
Avatar f tn Both Flexeril and Zanaflex are muscle relaxants with Zanaflex having a shorter duration of action than Flexeril. At times a combination of a long acting relaxant is given with a short acting one for proper control of spasticity. Whether you need both or not can be decided only by your treating doctor based on your symptoms and response to drugs. Take care!
