This morning my pain level was way down and no other side effects yet. It may take time to build up in your system but so far I feel great because my pain level is down. I am also taking a new plant based NSAID called Limbrel, that doesn't irritate the stomach. It is very expensive but since I can't take Ibupropin and Celebrex the insurance may approve it.Funny if I pay cash at Riteaid it is $300.00 and at Costco if you are member it is $115.00.
Alcohol and flexeril are both central nervous system suppressants and consuming alcohol while taking flexeril compounds the drowsiness, confused thinking, respiratory suppression of the muscle relaxant. Flexeril/alcohol combos are frequent causes of accidental overdose.
I would avoid the alcohol while taking the flexeril completely. If you already were consuming alcohol, I would skip the flexeril for at least 12 hours or more, depending upon how much alcohol you consumed.
I wouldn't drink with flexeril in my system.
The first day I took three, I found myself looking at my bottle of pain medication thinking about taking the whole bottle at once! I immediately threw the Flexeril in the trash. Nothing like that ever happened to me before that day, and nothing like that has ever happened since. I have never suffered from depression, so the whole incident freaked me out! I admit I dislike taking medication, and the only medication I routinely take is pain medication.

Gabapentin is kind of like setting up an artificial GABA system in your body for nerve pain, and is sometimes used in conjunction with an antidepressant for anxiety. Depakote is a major targeter of your actual GABA system. If you look at the side effect profile of flexeril, it can cause all of your symptoms. So can depakote.
if you have a legetamite script you would probably be fine with the drug in your system. If you live in the US, it is illegal to deny employement to someone just because of a chronic illness, condition or disability. I'm not sure of the laws in other countries. I can understand if you are a DR or nurse as they would be concerned your reaction time in possibly saving a life.
Does anyone know very much about Flexeril? I just received an call from someone that thinks they may have overdosed on it. He usually does not take it and took up to ten 10mg tablets today and feels somewhat out of it. 100mg in one shot shouldn't do too much should it? He is in No. CA and I'm in So. CA so I can't get to him. Should I be concerned about him not waking up? Apparently he took six of them yesterday and I read the half life is 1-3 days.
t sleep because of these constant muscle contractions in my legs and back. Last week the dr. gave me Flexeril, the muscle relaxer to help sleep. It works well but leaves me so groggy the next day. the last few days I have only been taking 1/2 or even 1/3 pill, it takes longer to sleep, but still works. Last night I tried without one and the muscle spasms were worse. Does anyone know if the Flexeril is actually causing these to last longer than they normally would?

FYI, I went to the doctor yesterday and he said Flexeril is known to cause skipping heart beats and other problems like that and I have to go off of it tonight. So, I went off the Flexeril last night and has some trouble sleeping but took an antihistamine and I seem to be doing ok today. So, far my heartbeat is better. I hope that does the trick. I looked up the side effects of Flexeril and <1% get the arhythimias and so I guess I'm in the 1% as usual.
If your blood sugar control can be improved, that would be my first recommendation. So many things that plague us are improved dramatically when our system is in better balance.
You might want to talk with your doc about checking your blood levels of minerals -- and not just blood sugar. Some folks (athletes) get relief from muscle cramps by increasing potassium and others have improvement with small amounts of quinine.
Congrats on the 3 weeks. I would take aleve myself. If my back hurts at night I take advil PM .
I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!
