Was laying on right side, lifted up left arm to do 1-armed hug and felt sharp weird pain in left shoulder blade. Was sleeping on left side prior. In severe pain ever sense.
Went to E.R on Oct. 3rd in severe pain. Dr. pushed down on head, moved arm around said shoulder was fine & dismissed. gave shot into hip (unknown). did nothing to relieve pain.
diagnosed with muscle strain. Prescribed:
Flexeril
Amoxicillin
Hydrocodone
Drugs offered no relief at all
Went to another Dr.
Does anyone know very much about Flexeril? I just received an call from someone that thinks they may have overdosed on it. He usually does not take it and took up to ten 10mg tablets today and feels somewhat out of it. 100mg in one shot shouldn't do too much should it? He is in No. CA and I'm in So. CA so I can't get to him. Should I be concerned about him not waking up? Apparently he took six of them yesterday and I read the half life is 1-3 days.
Hi again has anyone tried Flexeril (muscle relaxant)? Any bad side effects and did it help pain , I have I guess myofascial pain. Any trouble with withdrawal gettnig off of it?
alone for 2 weeks starting tomorrow and dont even want to go in a car or cab not even leave my house and I have an elderly ex Mother in law I need to take care of for 2 weeks while her son is gone and she is in the comunity next to me I just have to go in the golf cart to her park but my friend lauri said she will help me but this is ALOT of stress for me right noiw and I feel my ex husband is very selfish to do this at this time when I have been there for his family for over 21 yrs I am not on
We would appreaciate any and all thoughts and comments on Lyrica and/or Cymbalta in the elderly (oh, how she would cringe to be referred to as elderly..) especially examples good or bad and also any alternatives to that type of drug therapy. My Mom has scheduled an "emergency" doctor's appt. for her this coming Thursday (6/19.
I wouldn't drink with flexeril in my system.
Alcohol and flexeril are both central nervous system suppressants and consuming alcohol while taking flexeril compounds the drowsiness, confused thinking, respiratory suppression of the muscle relaxant. Flexeril/alcohol combos are frequent causes of accidental overdose.
I would avoid the alcohol while taking the flexeril completely. If you already were consuming alcohol, I would skip the flexeril for at least 12 hours or more, depending upon how much alcohol you consumed.
Hi. 5'10" Gent, and brand spankin newbie to this site. i just turned 56 in April. In my journal August. 12, 2013, I recorded wgt. 247.5 lb, BP 157/101, severe depression & anxiety with heaart palpitations and mid-nightime panic attacks. Also using CPAP setting of 14cm for severe sleep apnea, and suffered almost daily migraines. Plus my triglicerides were, as my dr put it, "through the roof!
Congrats on the 3 weeks. I would take aleve myself. If my back hurts at night I take advil PM .
The first day I took three, I found myself looking at my bottle of pain medication thinking about taking the whole bottle at once! I immediately threw the Flexeril in the trash. Nothing like that ever happened to me before that day, and nothing like that has ever happened since. I have never suffered from depression, so the whole incident freaked me out! I admit I dislike taking medication, and the only medication I routinely take is pain medication.

FYI, I went to the doctor yesterday and he said Flexeril is known to cause skipping heart beats and other problems like that and I have to go off of it tonight. So, I went off the Flexeril last night and has some trouble sleeping but took an antihistamine and I seem to be doing ok today. So, far my heartbeat is better. I hope that does the trick. I looked up the side effects of Flexeril and <1% get the arhythimias and so I guess I'm in the 1% as usual.
For severe neuropathy, 9 back surgery and then in 08 hubby and I were in a horrific car accident back in 08... I crushed my ankle, punctured a lung and broke 11 ribs...... I was on 100 mcg fentanyl patches for over 4 years ... they were working Any more, then I was put on 200 mgs morphine sulfate daily... ( 100 mgs every 12 hours). I did that for about 6 months and then had to become sole caregiver to my elderly father who had Alzheimer's...
I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!
