Flexeril how often to take

Common Questions and Answers about Flexeril how often to take

flexeril

Avatar f tn Us Gemini's are having a ball with Flexeril! I just started taking it. I must say I got a great night sleep for once! Have arthritis, chronic insomnia, partial paralysis, hypersensitive to pain. The generic vicoden wires me badly, can't take after 4pm. Really want to take percocet for pain, works great but got a new doc (old one retired) and she gave me vicoden instead-BAD idea!
Avatar f tn I voted 5-10 but I don't take meds specifically prescribed for fibro. They are for the stuff that goes along with it.... singulair, xyzal, omnaris (chemical sensitivities and regular allergies) synthroid topamax (migraines) wellbutrin After being seriously overmedicated for 4 years before my dx....I'm also very careful about what meds I take and how they interact. I didn't have any luck with flexeril, amitriptyline or cymbalta. I took vioxx for years and felt great on it....
232328 tn?1207090071 I used flexeril for back pain, and to be honest it did nothing...The doctor told me it was going to make me sleepy and it did not...It is a muscle relaxent... I ws on the 10mg dose.... So then he switched me to zanaflex, and i can only take it at nite because it makes me knock out....I don't take it all the time, only when my back is hurting as i think that one can be addicting i am sure others will give you their experience on it!
Avatar f tn I would love to take one at around 9 pm and and go ahead and go to bed and then take the other around 6 am, but is that too close together, or rather, does it leave too big a gap between the 6 am and 9 pm dose? Anybody ask their docs about this?
221387 tn?1210933058 Don't worry flexeril isn't part of a drug screen anyway. They aren't looking for that kind of stuff, they are concerened with street drugs primarily. I take drug screens all the time and when I was taking heavy doses of opiates no-one ever said a thing... LOL!
Avatar f tn I need to know if any of you ladies have ever taken flexeril during your pregnancy.
Avatar m tn I just received an call from someone that thinks they may have overdosed on it. He usually does not take it and took up to ten 10mg tablets today and feels somewhat out of it. 100mg in one shot shouldn't do too much should it? He is in No. CA and I'm in So. CA so I can't get to him. Should I be concerned about him not waking up? Apparently he took six of them yesterday and I read the half life is 1-3 days. Apparently he's having muscle spasms. Is there reason to call for help?
Avatar f tn I have anxiety and am on medications for it, but the cessastion of flexeril makes it SO bad, that I usually just take one to make it stop. I know it isn't a controlled substance, but I do think you can acquire dependence to it. The same with anit-depressants (ssri's in particular), as I have experienced sheer hell from stopping Paxil. I will never be able to get off of SSRI's as I have been on them since I was 10 (in 1994)...
744052 tn?1236236041 Hello, everybody! I have IBSs with mostly constipation, and I take laxatives every once in awhile to help with it. I try not to very often because I don't want to become dependent on them. Does anyone know how often is acceptable? If you've heard anything I'd really like to know. Thanks!
Avatar m tn Hello xLadyMX, Welcome to our Pain Management Community. I'm glad that you found us and took the time to post your question. Please excuse my tardy response. I encourage you to ask your Pharmacist this question also. Avoid the Pharm Tech is you are not getting information. You'll probably have to ask to talk to the Pharmacist - or you can even call. Pharmacists are an excellent source and very often know more than our Medical Providers in terms of medications.
Avatar f tn I use Flexeril for my spasticity. I often take 1-3 milligrams of Klonipin to augment the Flexeril. I have heard of Buspar but don't know what type of medicine. As far as the marijuana, it does help with spasticity and/or spasms. And I have heard that it helps with pain. It is legal here but I haven't applied to buy/use it. There are loopholes that concern me. 1. Even though it is legal for people with MS to use as a medicine, it's still illegal to buy. 2.
Avatar f tn No I didnt want to take any pain meds, try a hot water bottle, or a warm bath first if it doesnt help then speak to your doc about what is safe!
733362 tn?1489794936 I have been taking 3/4 of a 10mg Flexerit once a day before bed Pain Management Dr put me on 4-1/2 yrs ago while detoxing from Valium (horrible). I'm sure God brought me here getting off Valium. People here helped me so much like Cricket, AtThebeach and many others. I couldn't have done it without them and our Heavenly Father. Was on Gabapentin (for me is a horrible drug). He offered that again, maybe won't be as bad now, not withdrawing from Valium.
Avatar f tn OK I may just take a half of one its just unbearable and I would like to get some sleep tonight
1059594 tn?1261323966 So how do I go about switching doctors? I want to switch before I have to go back to her, how do I switch a doctor without a reason to see a doctor? (i.e. visiting the doctor because of a sickness) What do I do? I have NO experience with this, I just refuse to go back to her, I would rather be horribly sick for weeks than to deal with someone that is really rude to me and doesn't believe me.
Avatar f tn and and my choice is EPO . at least until the Dr says my cervix is thinning . then I might try castor oil .
1303813 tn?1303159362 Hello guys, I am 29 weeks and 3 days pregnant and I started getting my Braxton Hicks contractions, my question is, how often are you meant to feel them in a day, mine are pretty bad and earlier I had probably 5 within 10 mins and they went away for a bit now they are back again not as bad but one every 15 mins??
Avatar f tn For the mommies who's doctors told you to kick counts, how often during the day did you keep tract of them? I'm a FTM and my doctor wants me to start doing them.
14195784 tn?1435290693 //www.medhelp.org/posts/Pain-Management/How-long-dose-it-take-to-detox-from-Flexeril/show/2621705#post_12760718 You are showing those signs of depression my dear. You may not consciously "feel sad" at the moment of tears but your body is feeling an emotion and is expressing it. Anxiety or Depression can make you cry "for no reason". However there is a reason. Your body is doing it's best to release the emotions/anxiety/depression that you are feeling internally.
Avatar f tn Hi I just happened across your post. I am sure others will be a long very soon. While you are waiting for the pros here; I would say, if I were you I would slowwly wean down. Your body is used to getting this medication. It is going to be looking for it. This is just my opinion, I am not a doctor. I have taken flexeril, could not take more than a 1/4 or I would feel very odd. Maybe that was a good thing. You can get a pill cutter and start cutting your dose.
Avatar n tn Just my thoughts he needs to come to this reality as I have thought however often it takes many levels of reality of use of these pills..
790137 tn?1318064425 What does everyone take for their TMJ pain? I did take Darvocets, but those were removed from the market, so what should I take now? What does everyone else take for their jaw pain that is so painful?
Avatar m tn s, and i had pain shoot down my arm once or twice. im terrified to ever take it again, it was extremely painful and scary. When i take any type of pm medication to help me sleep (because i cant due to the pain and discomfort) it wires me, and causes me to become jittery, so jittery i feel like ants are under my skin. is this also an allergic reaction? It does not happen with anything else but flexeril, or pm medication.
Avatar m tn ve been on several different types of medication for pain control, and had to discontinue a few due to my not being able to take it as prescribed because of my cravings for more and how addicting it was! I am now on Methadone for pain and it works great at the right dose and I do not have "cravings" for more, I do however struggle with the Soma and am considering trying to go back on the Flexiril.
Avatar n tn If you are using both medicines together, your doctor may change the dose or how often you use one or both of the medicines. It is important to tell your doctor and pharmacist about all other medicines that you are using. Call your doctor if you have dark-colored urine, have a fever, have muscle cramps or spasms, have muscle pain or stiffness, or feel very tired or weak. Do not stop using your medicines without talking to your doctor first. Jennifer R RPh www.drugstore.
