flexeril for children

I've tried both Soma and Flexeril (not at same time!) for muscle relaxers (I have fibromyalgia, lupus, severe arthritis). Really the only side effect I've experienced with the Flexeril is that it makes me VERY sleepy, but when I'm hurting and having trouble getting the rest that I need, that actually is a good thing!

Wow, I'm out of action for at least 16 hours after just one Flexeril! And for the entire next day I'm a space cadet.

Hi there. I was prescribed flexeril today for some back pain. Can anyone tell me exactly what it is? If it is addicting? Will it make me sleepy/hyper, etc?

My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?

I swear by Flexeril! I have dealt with Chiari symptoms for over 20 years now and now if I take a Flexeril right when the headache starts to come on, I fall asleep and wake up as if I never had the headache. It is a miracle drug for Chiari headaches!!

flexeril is not a drug of abuse as a norm..and good for u...made it thru to day 5..

I'm worried! My fiancee' has been prescribed Tramadol, which worked very well for him but he has gone through 40 pills in 10 days and the way his dr. wrote his script it says "use 1-2 tablets every 8 hours as needed" so he cannot get a refill for another 2 weeks. He saw a local dr. who prescribed Flexeril, Percocet and Naproxen.

Its been going on for about 2 months now. I could be walking down the hall and i feel hot water on my cheeks and find that im crying. Most the time i dont feel sad or over happy or really anything and there is nothing ever in my eyes when the tears start to fall. I have seen myself cry, my face gets red and my eyes swell up and in all the times i found myself randomly crying my face is never red or my eyes are not puffy.

I would avoid the alcohol while taking the flexeril completely. If you already were consuming alcohol, I would skip the flexeril for at least 12 hours or more, depending upon how much alcohol you consumed.

I'm glad to hear you got some relief from Flexeril. It didn't do anything for my pain at all. It only made me feel stoned and hungover. I'd be careful drinking with it, particularly because you just started taking it. You might experience some kind of cumulative effect after taking a few doses.

I took 20mg a day off and on, like twice a week for 2 years, and then started taking the 20 mg every day for the last 13 years. I plan to wean off, and am wondering what to expect as of withdrawal symptoms. Also, does anyone know of a natural med I could take in it's place?

Flexeril is not addictive if you use it only when needed I took it for years for a bad back but you dont get hi on it so for the most part if taken as directed your ok just stay away from soma that is a different story...................................Gnarly.....................................

Flexeril didnt do anything at all for me - you may want to try it though - it might help sleep if taken around bedtime........its not dangerous at least........

I see a pain management doctor and have spinal injections every 12 weeks. I was prescribed Vicoden 10/325 for pain as well as flexeril and gabapentin. Neither the flexeril or the gabapentin seem to help with muscle tightness, spasms, or nerve pain. I am seeing my doctor again in two days and I wondered if any one could tell me of medications that have worked for you. I have a high tollerence to medication, most do not make me sleepy at all.

I certainly cant tell you to take flexeril. I will say that I have been taking cyclobenzoprine (flexeril) off and on as needed for a bunch of years. Its never a good idea to use someone elses meds. There are no contraindications for flexeril with hydro - but they are not in the same class. There is nothing opiate in a flexeril.

The doctor prescribed him, Flexeril, a muscle relaxant. He took the pills for 3 weeks like the doctor suggested. Two days after he stopped taking the Flexeril he started to experience withdrawal like symptoms. Unusual thoughts, dry mouth, numb lips, mood swings, confusion, etc. He had his wife call 911 because he thought he was having a stroke.

I tried Lyrica but the side effects were too much for me, Same with Neuronton. I am finally taking Ultram ER 200mg 2 X a day, Flexeril at night along with a mild sleeping pill, I take Zoloft 100mg in the morning and 50mg at night. I also take Baclofen at night. My internist put me on Norco for the break through pain. I went back to the Rhemy last week and he put me on Sulfasalazine for the RA. My hands are beginning to twist and knot up. my elbows are knotted up also.

Yes, I guess the doc said it is common to get the irregular heartbeat than they seem to say on the package insert for Flexeril. It worked well for me for 3 weeks and then worked only as a good sleeping pill and took my night sweats away, LOL. I can't take valium because I take klonopin. My FP said I could but I don't think it is a good idea for me. As for you if you don't get bad with drawal by using it once in a while (off and on) instead of every day it would be good.

I'm pregnant, and I was trying to get an abortion but I don't have the money for it. I was in a car accident, and required x-rays to make sure my neck wasent broken. I had been takeing flexeril, and just doing everything wrong and I'm so worried if I do end up keeping (which is more then likely whats going to happen. Have I severly hurt the baby?

Two months ago i took flexeril (muscle relaxer) for tmj like symptoms. Right after that i noticed hypo symptoms and when i went to the doc intested at tsh 17. Was i wrong to think that the pill triggered my thyroid? I have hashimotos By the way. has anyone ever had pvcs/pacs while on the muscle relaxant flexeril? for the last couple of months my constant pvcs have been actually somewhat manageable, or at least tolerable. then i was involved in a car accident and was prescribed flexeril 7 days ago. the palps started 30 mins after the first pill. i just thought it was stress from the accident and "oh great, the skips are back"...until they became debilitating, and my bp dropped to 90/50, where as it is usually 115/75.

I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? t have done it without them and our Heavenly Father. Was on Gabapentin (for me is a horrible drug). He offered that again, maybe won't be as bad now, not withdrawing from Valium. Flexeril helps me get past the pain and sleep good even after I tore a rotator cuff a few weeks ago. Have to sleep on stomach from old wreck which means 1 hand goes up near pillow. Now he stopped the Flexeril. Having sleep problems without it so trying to taper like I did Valium. It's not going very well.
