Not sure you're right about taking two or more of these can cause it. Two of the drugs affect serotonin, but only trazadone does this primarily. However, any of these drugs by themselves (not including melatonin, which is not a drug and is one of the safest supplements ever studied) could cause all of your side effects and the combination wouldn't be appealing to me.
I had been taking Flexeril for 20 years to help me sleep and it stopped helping me a year ago. GP put me on Amitriptyline 10mg a year ago after a couple weeks it started to help some but haven’t gotten much more than 4-6 hours of sleep most nights sometimes 7 hrs. GP tried upping Amitriptyline but I got weird side effects so dropped back to 10mg..GP added Melatonin 5-10mg a couple months ago helped for awhile but now I go nights with no sleep to 2or 4 hours. Anyone else’s have this issue?
I bet you feel like a million bucks!! I remember the first night i got some sleep. It was all uphill after that! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA you!!
2 glasses of wine helped me sleep last night..LOL...I am not a drinker. I may be doing that again tonight...better than pills. I did take Flexeril way back but didn't abuse it. It knocked me out completely.
But one thing is the past few nights I have taken 800mg ibuprofen and 5mg flexeril to help with the restlessness. It works! Should I stick with ot or slowly taper it down to get use to a normal nights sleep? Ive tried the tea hot baths and melatonin etc. They put me to sleep then I'm wide awake at 3am. I also can't afford no sleep because I am a stay home mom of 3 year old twins. Any suggestions would help.

I am asking because i am hanving jaw tension and pain now and want to take the flexeril but i am afraid it might trigger my hyop tyroidism.
My big fear is epilepsy Oxy use to make me shake and bite my tongue but since i been on 200mg Lamictal it has stopped I read Flexeril may cause seizure but then I also read the opposite.
Even if I am not epileptic I like to play it safe as my Doc is out, and the pharmacy worker never seems to know anything.
So does Flexeril increase seizure risk or is that just for (diagnosed) epileptics?
I don't want to add it to the oxy and have a attack.
I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!
My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?
I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!
a little more info but the short answer is yes with a prescription and yes if it is available in the home and yes from friends. Do you take flexeril? Who suggested it? What does your child need it for?
I ask this way because of the ongoing epidemic of Prescription drug abuse by children who get it at home or from friends who get it at home etc. And you did good asking but better to ask your doc. So fill us in and put your pills in a secure Secure place! Looking forward to hearing from you.
ve tried the Epsom salt baths, eating the right fruits and veggies, take melatonin and nothing...and I mean nothing has worked. I'm actually feeling pretty crappy and I am literally scared and anxious each time night approaches. All I can really say is keep going. I see too many people that say it will stop to not believe it, but in the wee hours of the morning I have a hard time with it. Good luck and let me know if you ever figure something out.

Hi, my husband is disabled with chronic severe back/leg/hip pain from multiple failed surgeries and and one of his pain management meds is Flexeril, that Clean mentioned. He too gets wicked muscle spasms and takes the Flexeril for that. It helps him. I am an opiate addict (for effect) but do get bad lower back pain at night, probably from carrying 60 pounds on my small frame during pregnancy...and I am getting older.
