Common Questions and Answers about Flexeril and melatonin

flexeril

Avatar n tn I have flexeril and do think it could aid with sleep and anxiety...maybe rls to some extent as well...
232328 tn?1207090071 I have Flexeril 10 MG's that was prescribed to me. Will that help with RLS? Is 10 MG's pretty strong? Please let me know.
Avatar f tn Not sure you're right about taking two or more of these can cause it. Two of the drugs affect serotonin, but only trazadone does this primarily. However, any of these drugs by themselves (not including melatonin, which is not a drug and is one of the safest supplements ever studied) could cause all of your side effects and the combination wouldn't be appealing to me.
733362 tn?1489794936 I have been taking 3/4 of a 10mg Flexerit once a day before bed Pain Management Dr put me on 4-1/2 yrs ago while detoxing from Valium (horrible). I'm sure God brought me here getting off Valium. People here helped me so much like Cricket, AtThebeach and many others. I couldn't have done it without them and our Heavenly Father. Was on Gabapentin (for me is a horrible drug). He offered that again, maybe won't be as bad now, not withdrawing from Valium.
Avatar m tn helps nausea and the runny eyes people get someones during wd..muscle relaxers like flexeril, and many others zyoprexa and many others can help as well...look in ut cabinet and c what u got there if u dont have anything in the cabinet and the valerian or melatonin doesnt work..ask u dr..
Avatar f tn I had been taking Flexeril for 20 years to help me sleep and it stopped helping me a year ago. GP put me on Amitriptyline 10mg a year ago after a couple weeks it started to help some but haven’t gotten much more than 4-6 hours of sleep most nights sometimes 7 hrs. GP tried upping Amitriptyline but I got weird side effects so dropped back to 10mg..GP added Melatonin 5-10mg a couple months ago helped for awhile but now I go nights with no sleep to 2or 4 hours. Anyone else’s have this issue?
Avatar m tn I bet you feel like a million bucks!! I remember the first night i got some sleep. It was all uphill after that! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA you!!
Avatar m tn Flexeril is a muscle relaxant thats often prescribed for muscle stiffness and pain. I have never heard of it for restless legs.
Avatar m tn 2 glasses of wine helped me sleep last night..LOL...I am not a drinker. I may be doing that again tonight...better than pills. I did take Flexeril way back but didn't abuse it. It knocked me out completely.
Avatar f tn But one thing is the past few nights I have taken 800mg ibuprofen and 5mg flexeril to help with the restlessness. It works! Should I stick with ot or slowly taper it down to get use to a normal nights sleep? Ive tried the tea hot baths and melatonin etc. They put me to sleep then I'm wide awake at 3am. I also can't afford no sleep because I am a stay home mom of 3 year old twins. Any suggestions would help.
4407520 tn?1363011865 I wish this was the worst it would get, but im sure it will probably hit me at Day 7 like you all said yesterday, still sleeping good so far, taking flexeril, quinine, and melatonin b4 bed, the part i hate the most is your arm and legs muscle drawing up and cramping waking you up in the middle of the night, ive been waiting for that to happen, but nothing yet, thank you all for your support!!
Avatar m tn I have hashimotos By the way. I am asking because i am hanving jaw tension and pain now and want to take the flexeril but i am afraid it might trigger my hyop tyroidism.
1460652 tn?1340248730 then i was involved in a car accident and was prescribed flexeril 7 days ago. the palps started 30 mins after the first pill. i just thought it was stress from the accident and "oh great, the skips are back"...until they became debilitating, and my bp dropped to 90/50, where as it is usually 115/75.i went to the dr. AGAIN and he said to go see a cardioloist AGAIN.
Avatar m tn My big fear is epilepsy Oxy use to make me shake and bite my tongue but since i been on 200mg Lamictal it has stopped I read Flexeril may cause seizure but then I also read the opposite. Even if I am not epileptic I like to play it safe as my Doc is out, and the pharmacy worker never seems to know anything. So does Flexeril increase seizure risk or is that just for (diagnosed) epileptics? I don't want to add it to the oxy and have a attack.
1350993 tn?1277493222 Has anyone tried Melatonin for insomnia? I took 1 last night before bed and was able to sleep for about 6 hours. Aside from the mild insomnia, tapering has actually made me feel better.
Avatar f tn I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!
Avatar f tn Hi again has anyone tried Flexeril (muscle relaxant)? Any bad side effects and did it help pain , I have I guess myofascial pain. Any trouble with withdrawal gettnig off of it?
232328 tn?1207090071 I used flexeril for back pain, and to be honest it did nothing...The doctor told me it was going to make me sleepy and it did not...It is a muscle relaxent... I ws on the 10mg dose.... So then he switched me to zanaflex, and i can only take it at nite because it makes me knock out....I don't take it all the time, only when my back is hurting as i think that one can be addicting i am sure others will give you their experience on it!
Avatar f tn My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?
Avatar f tn m going again tomorrow to perhaps get off of flexeril and maybe get a monitor to take home. Has anyone had this happen to them when on Flexeril? I noticed that the skipped beats got worse with the supplements i'm on too but don't know if these should cause such an event.
Avatar f tn I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!
Avatar n tn a little more info but the short answer is yes with a prescription and yes if it is available in the home and yes from friends. Do you take flexeril? Who suggested it? What does your child need it for? I ask this way because of the ongoing epidemic of Prescription drug abuse by children who get it at home or from friends who get it at home etc. And you did good asking but better to ask your doc. So fill us in and put your pills in a secure Secure place! Looking forward to hearing from you.
Avatar f tn The best thing you can do is take good care of yourself, eat healthy food, stay hydrated, keep active and busy. Stay away from sugar, soda, and simple carbs. Do not consume caffeine at least 6 hours prior to bedtime. You are doing great! Be proud of yourself.
Avatar m tn ve tried the Epsom salt baths, eating the right fruits and veggies, take melatonin and nothing...and I mean nothing has worked. I'm actually feeling pretty crappy and I am literally scared and anxious each time night approaches. All I can really say is keep going. I see too many people that say it will stop to not believe it, but in the wee hours of the morning I have a hard time with it. Good luck and let me know if you ever figure something out. On the melatonin thing....

Avatar m tn Hi, my husband is disabled with chronic severe back/leg/hip pain from multiple failed surgeries and and one of his pain management meds is Flexeril, that Clean mentioned. He too gets wicked muscle spasms and takes the Flexeril for that. It helps him. I am an opiate addict (for effect) but do get bad lower back pain at night, probably from carrying 60 pounds on my small frame during pregnancy...and I am getting older.
