flexeril and lithium

I have hashimotos By the way. I am asking because i am hanving jaw tension and pain now and want to take the flexeril but i am afraid it might trigger my hyop tyroidism.

Seroquel 25 mg, Lexapro 20 mg, Lithium 150 mg, Tylenol 500mg, Colace 100 mg, Senna 2 tabs, Flexeril 10mg. Family member is experiencing hallucinations. Is there a drug interaction here?

then i was involved in a car accident and was prescribed flexeril 7 days ago. the palps started 30 mins after the first pill. i just thought it was stress from the accident and "oh great, the skips are back"...until they became debilitating, and my bp dropped to 90/50, where as it is usually 115/75.i went to the dr. AGAIN and he said to go see a cardioloist AGAIN.

I've been on lithium for several years. At first I gained weight but after I got used to it my body just levelled off. If I was worried about anything it was the depression that was making me gain weight not only from eating but also not moving around much. If lithium gives you a few extra pounds it might be an ok thing if you get your life back. You have to watch your salt intake. Sure too much is bad but having the levels fluctuate isn't so good either.

My big fear is epilepsy Oxy use to make me shake and bite my tongue but since i been on 200mg Lamictal it has stopped I read Flexeril may cause seizure but then I also read the opposite. Even if I am not epileptic I like to play it safe as my Doc is out, and the pharmacy worker never seems to know anything. So does Flexeril increase seizure risk or is that just for (diagnosed) epileptics? I don't want to add it to the oxy and have a attack.

Hi, once in a while when I take my meds without food, I feel very ill, almost flu-like. I get hot and cold and hang out by the toilet. my pdoc hasn't sent me for bloodwork in a few months or more (can't remember last time I went... ok, I checked my calendar; Nov 19 and I started lithium Nov 27). I have a thyroid problem and it runs in the family. I've already been told to look for a new pdoc. I just want to know what the symptoms are if you are getting toxic from the lithium...

I have also developed a thyroid nodule (after 2 years on lithium) and am taking 100 mcg of synthroid a day. Did the lithium cause the thyroid problem and is it reversible if the lithium is stopped?

I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!

Hi again has anyone tried Flexeril (muscle relaxant)? Any bad side effects and did it help pain , I have I guess myofascial pain. Any trouble with withdrawal gettnig off of it?

I used flexeril for back pain, and to be honest it did nothing...The doctor told me it was going to make me sleepy and it did not...It is a muscle relaxent... I ws on the 10mg dose.... So then he switched me to zanaflex, and i can only take it at nite because it makes me knock out....I don't take it all the time, only when my back is hurting as i think that one can be addicting i am sure others will give you their experience on it!

My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?

m going again tomorrow to perhaps get off of flexeril and maybe get a monitor to take home. Has anyone had this happen to them when on Flexeril? I noticed that the skipped beats got worse with the supplements i'm on too but don't know if these should cause such an event.

I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!

I guess there are a lot of side effects though from the lithium. So if anyone has also had lithium with RAI please post!

It would be interesting to find out how many people are on more than one medication for their mental health. if i have carb cravings from lithium than the more carbs i eat the more fat i get. my question is how do you stop lithium induced carb cravings? when i eat meat and vegetables i feel full and satisfied but later in the morning i get this craving for bread and potatoes. its a vicious cycle i can't let go of. please help me with this dilemma.

a little more info but the short answer is yes with a prescription and yes if it is available in the home and yes from friends. Do you take flexeril? Who suggested it? What does your child need it for? I ask this way because of the ongoing epidemic of Prescription drug abuse by children who get it at home or from friends who get it at home etc. And you did good asking but better to ask your doc. The opthalmologist informed me that the lithium I am taking can cause rapid eye movement and because I already have a problem with this he thinks the lithium "may" be exacerbating the problem. This in turn is giving me the headaches. He is hoping that my new glasses prescription will make a big difference but has said that if not then I will have to come off the lithium.
