Flexeril and heart palpitations

Common Questions and Answers about Flexeril and heart palpitations

flexeril

Avatar f tn Anxiety can cause all kinds of physical symptoms, including palpitations. And of course, palpitations can cause anxiety. So it can all create a vicious feedback loop which can lead to a panic attack. One thing to consider is that at age 36, you're very unlikely to be having heart trouble. And the tests so far back that up. If you see a psychologist or social worker, they'll probably start you on cognitive behavioral therapy which might be very helpful.
Avatar f tn I voted 5-10 but I don't take meds specifically prescribed for fibro. They are for the stuff that goes along with it.... singulair, xyzal, omnaris (chemical sensitivities and regular allergies) synthroid topamax (migraines) wellbutrin After being seriously overmedicated for 4 years before my dx....I'm also very careful about what meds I take and how they interact. I didn't have any luck with flexeril, amitriptyline or cymbalta. I took vioxx for years and felt great on it....
Avatar f tn Hi Tuckamore, FYI, I went to the doctor yesterday and he said Flexeril is known to cause skipping heart beats and other problems like that and I have to go off of it tonight. So, I went off the Flexeril last night and has some trouble sleeping but took an antihistamine and I seem to be doing ok today. So, far my heartbeat is better. I hope that does the trick. I looked up the side effects of Flexeril and <1% get the arhythimias and so I guess I'm in the 1% as usual.
Avatar n tn Then you may want to get a echocardiogram. I had the same symptoms and had skipping heart beats and shortness of breath etc. and the EKG was normal but the halter monitor showed 104 preatrial contractions/24 hours or PAC"S. These happen to be benign but I cut out caffiene entirely and got off my muscle relaxer (Flexeril) as this trigger the PAC's. Getting off caffiene helped a lot. THere are other palipations that can sometimes be benign and sometime cause problems.
Avatar f tn On Saturday my palms of my hands turned blue for about 15 seconds. I have gone to my GP and had a 12 lead ECG and the doctor said my ECG was normal and the heart sounds very strong. I understand a PVC (periventricular contraction) may not be seen on an ECG. I did see irregular heartbeat as a serious side effect of flexeril. I'm going again tomorrow to perhaps get off of flexeril and maybe get a monitor to take home. Has anyone had this happen to them when on Flexeril?
Avatar m tn I have hashimotos By the way. I am asking because i am hanving jaw tension and pain now and want to take the flexeril but i am afraid it might trigger my hyop tyroidism.
Avatar f tn i took some this afternoon. in fact i took a lot since i read online that it takes 2 grams to have any effect. i don't know if that is why i am totally hyper, have heart palpitations, and feel like ****. rls hasn't started... yet. i am sucking up the rylands. also taking propranolol. not working. took some clonapin. still hyper. is this a phase of tramadol? hyperness?
Avatar f tn I'm a 36 year old female. Sometime in November I developed a cold sore in the corner of my mouth and a painful swollen gland under my chin (this might be relevant later). Around this time I was also experiencing heart palpitations, but kept putting off a doctor's appointment. On Thanksgiving day, I ended up going to the hospital because my heart was beating hard and fast and I just did not feel right. They kept me overnight and did various blood tests, EKGs, and an Echocardiogram.
Avatar f tn 24 hr tape showed no abnormality, some supraventricular ectopics(which i never felt), but was told thats normal. I have had palpitations on and off for years, but usually only related to stress/hormonal times in month, alcohol. They were a bit more frequent towards end of last year, hence the ECG. Anyway, cardiologist has seen results, and ruled out any serious causes of short pr interval(I was terrifeid it was WPW at first, but he sees no sign of that).
Avatar f tn I just finished a 5 day z pack that was prescribed for a sinus infection that was giving me severe headaches. My heart started to feel funny and I looked at the insert which said could cause irregular hearbeats. I've taken this medication in the past with no issue. I do not have any cardiac disease but I do smoke, should I just wait for about 5 days to see if once the meds are out of my system I'm ok, or should I go see a doctor or go to the ER?
Avatar f tn Geez, 10 flippin' hrs later, and I finally feel alert. Thanks for your concern - the palps went away as the pill wore off. T3's do that to me, too. I've had this Flex rx for a while but don't take them everyday...or every week for that matter. I noticed this problem to a MUCH lesser extent with the previous refill. The refill yesterday, however, was by a different manufacturer than before and wow, it knocked me for a loop! Really screwed up!!!

Avatar f tn Hi. I also have had heart palpitations. I talked with the doctor and she said probably is nothing, but they are going to check the thyroid hormonea..they can increase during pregnancy and cause palpitations, but i even if it is the case she said not to worry, it is nothing complicated, maybe some supplements to get them under control. Ask your doctor, but don't worry. Good luck!
Avatar m tn My son is 18 and started having heart palpitations and chills tonight. He also has a headache. He can't relax because this is bothering him so much. He does have a doctors appt tomorrow at 11:15am. Any suggestions to calm the palpitations?
Avatar f tn If the arm pain was actually related to some underlying heart issue, do you think taking Flexeril would make a difference in the arm pain? Meaning would the pill help the arm, even though it's refferred pain from the heart. I am getting relief from the Flexeril, which is making me think the muscles are relaxing in my back so the arm pains go away for awhile due to less tension.
Avatar f tn And today when I woke up, I had difficulty breathing and my heart kept skipping over beats and have this weird beating pattern. And I also feel really out of breath. Like I'm on a jog, when I'm actually just laying in bed, but this I know is a side effect. But when I have these heart-skips (feels like it stops for 2 seconds and then comes back in a harsh beat and continues weirdly) I can't breath.
Avatar f tn I started getting really bad anxiety attacks, insomnia, chest pains, heart palpitations, fatigue, ringing ears, floaters in eyes, light sensitivity, muscle stiffness, tingling in hands and feet, and really bad joint cracking all over body. Got just about every test done, including mri, emg, eeg, and 100 blood tests, but they found nothing. Was even tested and treated for lyme several times, even though I tested negative each time.
Avatar n tn I get heart palpitations from time to time with no concern and have been to the doctors within the past yr and have had my heart listened to. However last night i was talking my dogs for a walk up this steep hill and stopped because i got a heart palpitation, but also had this quick sharp pain in my heart, the pain only lasted for a second or two and the palpitations ended soon after. I felt fine afterwards but had much anxiety about the pain.
Avatar f tn I have been having heart palpitations for about a year now and I'm 24 years old. I usually get the palpitations before and during my period and when I'm in stressful times. I am worried that in the future when I get pregnant this will affect me.
Avatar f tn Our adrenal system is closely related to our hormones, so if your adrenals are having issues, it will effect hormones and could in turn cause heart palpitations. Also, if progesterone is off, that could cause it. Additionally, low Magnesium, low Vitamin D, low B12, - all an cause heart palpitations. Get a full panel done and see. Maybe it will be something as simple as a vitamin deficiency. Hope this helps... God Bless.
Avatar f tn thank you for advice i do have stress but even when im relaxed watching tv i get this tingling all over my body its not always the same time as the flushing and palpitations i have been in hospital a few times on a drip to slow my heart rate down from 230 beats my heart dr is starting me on a new tablet next week and says i might have to have an operation its really scary i feel for everyone on here and wish everyone well take care.
Avatar n tn About a month later I started having A LOT of heart palpitations. I went to the ER and they did an EKG that came back normal and the doc said my heart seemed fine. He did indicate that he could see my palpitations on the heart monitor. My blood pressure was 100/65 and my pulse was 65. He tested my TSH and it was at 25. He told me to drop my synthroid down to 50 mcg until I saw my doc because he thought the medication may be the cause of my palpitations.
1685350 tn?1305344023 Can drinking heavily for a few days give me heart palpitations and sweating? I only really experience it when I stand up or do a strenuous activity. I also have bad anxiety. I never seem to experience it until I started drinking again for like a week or so.
Avatar f tn Everytime I eat my heart starts to race for no reason and when I go to sleep in certain positions my heart will start to palpitate and sometimes fast but I can always feel it like it's pumping hard. Does anyone know wut it cud be? Is anyone else having the same thing? I had most of the tests and nothing shows up.
Avatar f tn My endo said I may need to take thyroid hormone replacement therapy meds but he seemed to be a bit concerned about the palpitations and how the medication was going to make my palpitations worse. What's weird is that I actually never had palpitations before my thyroid problems started. Has anyone else here had a similar problem? Did you end up taking thyroid hormone replacement therapy meds and did they make your palpitations worse? or better?
