I am asking because i am hanving jaw tension and pain now and want to take the flexeril but i am afraid it might trigger my hyop tyroidism.
My big fear is epilepsy Oxy use to make me shake and bite my tongue but since i been on 200mg Lamictal it has stopped I read Flexeril may cause seizure but then I also read the opposite.
Even if I am not epileptic I like to play it safe as my Doc is out, and the pharmacy worker never seems to know anything.
So does Flexeril increase seizure risk or is that just for (diagnosed) epileptics?
I don't want to add it to the oxy and have a attack.
I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!
My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?
I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!
a little more info but the short answer is yes with a prescription and yes if it is available in the home and yes from friends. Do you take flexeril? Who suggested it? What does your child need it for?
I ask this way because of the ongoing epidemic of Prescription drug abuse by children who get it at home or from friends who get it at home etc. And you did good asking but better to ask your doc. So fill us in and put your pills in a secure Secure place! Looking forward to hearing from you.
I have tried just drinking water, marshmallow root, garlic, mint tea, heating pads, Uribel, Flexeril, deep breathing, yoga, etc. Exercise seems to make it 10x worse. I just can't seem to make them stop. Has anyone had any luck with anything? I have reached the point of desperation. Thanks in advance for your help/suggestions.
Hi, my husband is disabled with chronic severe back/leg/hip pain from multiple failed surgeries and and one of his pain management meds is Flexeril, that Clean mentioned. He too gets wicked muscle spasms and takes the Flexeril for that. It helps him. I am an opiate addict (for effect) but do get bad lower back pain at night, probably from carrying 60 pounds on my small frame during pregnancy...and I am getting older.
You are right, certain medications particularly muscle relaxants and antichlinergics, interfere with the results of EMG like baclofen and flexeril or cyclobenzaprine that you are taking. It would be prudent to apprise your neurologist of all the medications you are on, so that the EMG results are appreciated in that light. Muscle biopsy can be taken up after an EMG. Consult your neurologist for his preferences and expertise. Take care.
I went to see my pcp and I also got blood work done. It appears my wbc was decreased. I researched the web and found that Flexeril and Benadryl, two meds I’ve been taking since I started working nights and my back pain became unbearable can cause low wbc. I’ve stopped taking both and I am starting to feel better but not back to myself yet and it’s already been 2 weeks since I stopped. I’m guessing this meds are still in my body. I plan to repeat my lab work in a few months.
2 glasses of wine helped me sleep last night..LOL...I am not a drinker. I may be doing that again tonight...better than pills. I did take Flexeril way back but didn't abuse it. It knocked me out completely.
I have started on new meds Flexeril at night, lymbrel 500 twice a day, and Avosoy (non-prescription). The Flexeril drys my mouth out at night. Do you think this a side effect or an allergy of one of these drugs? I think the Flexeril dried my mouth and cause chapped lips and perhaps an infection from the old chap stick? please advise. It is not Herpes cold sores as I know what that looks like. It has an ordered distribution like the hair follicles.
Alcohol and flexeril are both central nervous system suppressants and consuming alcohol while taking flexeril compounds the drowsiness, confused thinking, respiratory suppression of the muscle relaxant. Flexeril/alcohol combos are frequent causes of accidental overdose.
I would avoid the alcohol while taking the flexeril completely. If you already were consuming alcohol, I would skip the flexeril for at least 12 hours or more, depending upon how much alcohol you consumed.
t understand why I have pain in this spot and that spot when I do something and it gets better and I do the same exercise and the pain gets worse and/or moves around and the type of pain gets worse and changes. He is sure it is now soft tissue and he has changed my appointment to next week instead of 2 months. I will mention about bursa and ask about tendons but he seems sensitive to the idea if I mention it.
ve been dealing with major back and neck pain for the last week. Yesterday around 11a, I took a 5mg Flexeril and boy did it do wonders. After a brief nap, most of my pain greatly subsided. The following hours, about 10p, I did see an uptick in stiffness but nothing compared to the pain before the Flexeril.
I know Flexeril has an unusually long half-life, about 18 hrs.
I dont know how long you've been a CNA, but back injuries are unfortunately very common. Especially since lifting a patient is not like lifting a box or something. The box doesnt move or fight you where you have to suddenly twist. (I am an LPN in a nursing home). If the flexeril isnt working, you call her and tell her and insist on something else. Are you covered by insurance?? Did she at least send you for Xrays? MRI?
I went to the doctor and she gave me Flexeril and Pain meds. And gave me some paper and to strength the back. I only it the the flexeril for couple days and starting swimming programs which help . But still having pain and the spasms now seem worse. I also feel pain down my legs. Getting out of bed to get ready for the day is very difficult. Went back and she give different Muscle relaxer (soma) which works but if I dont take them the back spasms are they. Should I have MRI.
Hi. I am wanting to quit taking Cyclobenzaprine. I took 20mg a day off and on, like twice a week for 2 years, and then started taking the 20 mg every day for the last 13 years. I plan to wean off, and am wondering what to expect as of withdrawal symptoms. Also, does anyone know of a natural med I could take in it's place?
