1494170 tn?1361750860 Hi there, There are no foods or diet specific to HCV; if you have compensated liver disease, you should be able to eat pretty much anything you enjoy; within obvious limits. If your cirrhosis is decompensated, e.g. ascites, encephalopathy, bleeds, then limiting red meats while maintaining adequate protein intake with legumes, white meat chicken, fish, soy products and the like is preferable. Additionally, your doctor might limit your sodium intake as well.

Avatar m tn After I eliminated all gluten and dairy from my diet and started using the flaxseed meal as my source of extra fiber, I no longer find the mucous in my stool. I also don't experience as much of the burning that you're talking about. That is caused by either the stool being too hard and difficult to pass or being too soft and liquidy. The hard stool will sometimes cause tiny little fissures and the liquid stool is often acidic.
Avatar f tn I added 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed to my diet for the past year. I was very discouraged when I received the results of my lipid panel results. 743476 tn?1236614823 When you have low bloodsugars, the food you eat can easily go to weight gain. I weighted between 130-145 thru highschool, not skinny but kinda round. Little things like "loving Diet Pepsi" or "not liking icing on cake" can help. I'm a teacher at a highschool and I have several students who "share" my stash of diet drinks or granola bars for lows. Ask your favorite teacher who has type 2 on the staff. Even better, they usually have a refridgerator.
Avatar m tn Obviously, to gain weight, eat more, and to make it muscle, do resistance training of some kind in a careful way, but gaining weight in an unhealthy fashion will come back to haunt you later. 140029 tn?1393298142 I just left a message with my allergist asking for a food elimination diet. I 99% sure i'm soy intolerant and suspect corn but I can't find the problem holding me up...(I know there's an allergy section but this one is more active). Hopefully my allergist will respond but sometimes only $$$ motivates doctors (office visit is like $200+ and i'm unemployed with this problem) does anyone know any good elimination diets? I did one but never knew about white potatoes for example..
Avatar f tn It is recommended that people with MS consume a low-fat/ high fiber diet as the same as the general public. There have been 'diets' that claim to help MS, however, they have not been under strict controlled studies for effectiveness. Generally a healthy diet is recommending lowering your sugar and sodium consummation with a low fat/ high fiber intake.
Avatar f tn Ooh..you are answering all of my questions today! Thanks! I think I'm going to do the baby aspirin and probably continue to do the flaxseed but maybe just less of it. My DH and I don't get to eat a lot of fish so I know my diet could use the fatty acids. I had a major surgery this past January and I was told to stop taking fish oil before the surgery because it is a blood thinner. So that's why I was wondering if the flaxseed is a thinner as well!
Avatar f tn ) and believes in going to the source for the nutrition I need. During my last visit, she turned me on to flax seed, which you can get in the natural foods stores. They're tiny seeds that have very little taste and can easily be put in almost any food. I put 1/2 tsp in my cereal or yogurt once a day and now have all the Omega-3 I need without the expensive pills or having to worry about whether I'm eating enough fish. It also costs alot less - last weekend I paid only $1.
Avatar m tn One study found that a diet high in ALA (from sources other than flaxseed oil) was associated with a reduced risk of heart disease. However, there were so many other factors involved that it is hard to say what caused what. Sjogren's syndrome is an autoimmune condition in which the immune system destroys moisture-producing glands, such as tear glands and salivary glands. It can occur by itself, or in conjunction with other autoimmune diseases, such as lupus.
