Avatar f tn Can Fibromyalgia only effect the left side of the body? For the past year my health has declined starting from my ancle, spreading to my foot and toes to my calf and up my thigh to my arm and hand up to my shoulder, now I have plursey.
Avatar f tn Hi Lanoel, Welcome to the forum! Your symptoms do not suggest of Fibromyalgia. The characteristic difference between Fibromyalgia and other joint disorder is that Fibromyalgia presents with muscle pain. Unlike arthritis, the incapacitating pain is not in the joints but in the muscles and ligaments. Fibromyalgia is known for presentation of pain at specific sites known as tender points or tender spots.

Avatar f tn Hey Suzy. Welcome to the forum. Oxycodone @ 10mg injected will produce the SAME results as morphine for most people. I'm mentioning this to point out that these types of drugs are opioid drugs, potentially habit forming narcotic drugs. The fact that they are prescribed legally, does not make them any less dangerous than street drugs, other than the fact that their "quality" and strength are consistent with what they claim.
Avatar f tn I have had fibromyalgia for over 10 years now. I am on tramadol for pain and would love to get off of it. Can anyone tell me how I can do that without withdraw being so bad.
Avatar f tn Hi Jewls1962 and welcome to the forum. Have you ever tried Dr. Scholl's Custom Fit Orthotic Inserts? They have this computerized footmap analyzer that evaluates your foot length, arch type and pressure points, so you can get the best inserts for support & comfort. And the price is reasonable, but you have to keep in mind that you probably need shoes about half size larger.
1184051 tn?1264438908 Hi I am new to this site, but my doctor said in I probably have fibromyalgia about a year ago. I had an MRI done today and it came back negative. My dr. had me have the MRI because of increasing fatigue, tingling body parts, headaches, major memory problems! Now I have to go to a neurologist. I just feel that I will have a bunch of tests and they will say they don't know or label me with fibromyalgia, but do they take it as a serious condition?
Avatar n tn Chronic pain, Sleeplessness, Anxiety and Fatigue may be symptoms of Fibromyalgia or other conditions like Chronic Fatigue syndrome. There are many other conditions that mimic the symptoms of Fibromyalgia. Diagnosis of Fibromyalgia is based on the presence of tender points. These tender spots are particularly located in the neck, back, shoulders and hips. There are 18 points on body for tenderness in patients of this condition.

Avatar f tn htm One thing I can tell you about high blood pressure and fibromyalgia is that some fibromyalgia medications can actually cause high blood pressure in fibromyalgia patients ! You might want to consider posting your symptoms in MedHelp's fibro/CFS forum (I am one of the CL's in there) and we can make sure that other possible conditions have been ruled out (Chari Malformation, lyme, etc.). We also have a wealth of information about fibromyalgia in our Health Pages.

Avatar n tn I am a 22 year old female and after doing a bit of research it sounds as though I have several symptoms that occur under fibromyalgia. I have had throughout my entire life a bizarre amount of muscle problems and pain. In recent times (last 5-6 months) I have had occasions where my body and skin hurts so much that even my shirt is hurting it. This isn't an everyday, or even every week, event but it has happened probably 5 or 6 time.
5682570 tn?1372290919 Hi sallyalewis and welcome to the forum. I have filed some notes and a couple replies to members on this- It just happens that I have a report relative to this for my Naturopathic studies, so it all came in handy. First some natural remedies you may want to look into: My daughter who's a holistic health practitioner and aromatherapist uses a few drops of Organic Peppermint Oil over the itchy areas. You may also try Aloe Vera gel, as this works well too.
Avatar f tn Ischemia: Cause of Fibromyalgia Pain? Saturday April 18, 2009 Did you know that some fibromyalgia (FMS) pain may be caused by low blood flow to our muscles? The medical name for that is ischemia (ih-SKEE-mee-ah). We've had some limited evidence of ischemia in FMS for a few years, and it's an area that researchers are pursuing.
