Avatar f tn Yes, I've read the same data. Several different articles. I haven't asked my dr either. When I went and got a massage last week my massage therapist said her midwife told her the same thing, one glass a day was okay. I'm still unsure myself. I had a friend who lived overseas and she said the women/people in Europe are more excepting of it. So, talk to your doctor but a few glasses in the third trimester will not have the baby being born with fetal alcohol syndrome.
Avatar n tn If you break embryonic and fetal development into thirds then when you are in your 28th week the baby begins its final third of development. (Gestation is 266 days or 38 weeks of development). So either way you look at it you are in your 3rd trimester!
1431138 tn?1294566894 s a machine now that can tell as early as 12 weeks but most doctors will wait until later on in the second trimester to see.
Avatar f tn No its not especially in the first trimester. Rapid development of babies major organs, brain and spinal cord happen in the first trimester. I hear some women have a small glass while pregnant personally I wouldnt but if you were to you should wait at least until the middle of the second trimester. Ask your doctor. It is currently not recommended that any alcohol be taken in while pregnant since FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) is not completely understood on when and how it all happens.
1428239 tn?1333457053 They give different dates for when the second trimester begins and for when the third trimester begins. Your health care provider might prefer to use the Development method, while another Midwife or Doctor may use the Gestation method. I am sure they do that just to confuse pregnant women. by Development: This uses actual developmental stages to divide up a pregnancy. From LMP to 12 weeks the embryo develops all the major organs and becomes a fetus.

Avatar f tn I am very concerned about the outcome of this finding and would like to know what the odds are that this will eventually become a diagnosis of microsephaly? and the odds are of her head catching up in third trimester growth?
216278 tn?1308861082 I've posted this in the Pregnancy 35+ forum, as well...but thought afterwards, that this would be better since we're all at about the same place in our pregnancies... I'm trying to do the math on my pregnancy and this is going to sound ridiculous, but I don't really 'get' how far along I am...I mean, I know that I am 24 weeks and 2 days, but translating it...
Avatar f tn That's not true dollface7 the baby never stops moving you just don't feel the movement regularly until 28 weeks
Avatar n tn I had an anti abortion activist explain the theory of the breast cancer link, and I was wondering if you could give me some insight into these claims. They explained the types of lobules and their development. That throughout the first trimester, the number of Type 1 and Type 2 lobules rapidly increase, resulting in the breast having more sites for cancer to start. In the second trimester, the lobules start maturing into Type 4 lobules, which are cancer resistant.

475489 tn?1223948282 Conception Another mathematical method where you take the 38 weeks of post-conception development, divide by three, and add two weeks. Here the second trimester begins at 14w5d and the third at 27w3d. Hope this helps Brandi 22.

Avatar f tn I'm planning on getting some done around 34/35 weeks.
Avatar n tn Bone structure starts in the first part of the second trimester. Its not at all uncommon for babies to not have bone structure in the first trimester. I would not be so hasty to terminate. Give it a couple months to see what progresses of the pregnancy!!!!!

Avatar f tn ) by the way, they can easily fix the valve problem by putting one in, and placing a patch over the hole in the heart. Sometimes in these situations babies are born with a PDA which normally closes at full term, it's a vessel that goes between the heart and lungs and in babies with heart issues, sometimes it's benefitial to keep it open a little longer and it can be done with a stent type device I think.
