fetal-development

Avatar f tn One of my friends had the due date for her first changed multiple times. I think it ended up at least 1 1/2-2 months earlier than going by lmp and baby was full term in development.
Avatar f tn it is written on the ultrasound pictures. I supposed based on the fetal size, a statistic to check if they are growing normally.
Avatar f tn My 14 month old boy was a preemie by 1 month. He is not walking yet and only babbles mama and dada. Also, when he gets excited, he bites the back of his hand very hard and throws his head forward. Although we can stop him from doing this if we intervene right away, it looks weird! Are these biting episodes and lack of walking and talking a sign of something wrong? This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn 6 months is usually an age where your son would be seen by his pediatrician. You should bring up your concerns at the pediatric visit so that his doctor can evaluate him for any signs of developmental delay. Babies can have a range of development that can still be within the normal range, but your pediatrician will have a better idea of how your son is doing after a complete physical examination.
Avatar f tn what month do the baby move up in your tummy like I can only feel the baby Way at da bottom I will be 15weeks tomorrow
Avatar f tn Can you believe it? I can't. Zoƫ is one month old today! It feels like just last week I gave birth to her. She is so unbelievably precious and sweet-natured (unless she is hungry... then get out of her way!). I am exclusively BFing her and it's going really well considering I did not have success with my other daughters. She mainly sleeps but everyday she seems to be awake a little longer. She really enjoys sitting at the dinner table with us. We co-sleep and that's well.
Avatar f tn It's definitely better to go by weeks. If people ask just politely tell them weeks is more accurate and how many weeks you are.
Avatar f tn Hello ... today my grandson's pediatrician couldn't see light reflection in one of my grandson's eyes. I've noticed for a while that the eye moves slightly different from the other eye. The doctor said it couldn't be lazy eye. From what I've read it could very well be that. I've read horror stories about a tumor behind the eye. I looked at all his pictures and didn't notice one eye being white. What could this be?
Avatar f tn He listens to instructions, knows how to use a brush, fork, phone and loves to play with a ball by himself and will throw it back and forth to you. Should i be concerned about autism? He is not distant, he smiles and laughs and will come to me if he needs a toy train turned on and he loves to be kissed and hugged. Please some advice.
9663463 tn?1407525554 It might just be because they couldnt get all the pictures they needed? I have had one fetal echo so far to look at an echogenic focus. Its a bright spot. I go back again this week (27weeks) to look at it again and rule out if it is a possible tumor which I am praying it is not. Its a simple procedure.
Avatar m tn My daughter, will be 2 in a week and I am worried about here development. Initially she was great.. walked @ 11 months could tell body parts i.e. nose, mouth, ears etc. now she only sometime responds to her name.. only has about 20/30 words (cannot use 2 together mind) When I try to say a word she will look @ my mouth and try to copy me.. She sometimes tip toes around the house (not often)..she will laugh for no apparent reason. When she is with other kids...
Avatar f tn I can tell you, From experience that a baby's heart is fully developed by week 18, which is why doctors do fetal echos between 18-24 weeks, it's the soonest they can visualize the heart without the bones getting in the way or "shadowing" it, and also the latest for them to detect holes and other issues. There are many cases when a baby has a hole or two early on and as the baby grows and the heart continues to grow the holes close or get smaller on their own.
Avatar f tn On the side of his face that is smaller, due to the plagiocephaly, his eye and cheek are also slightly smaller (hardly noticable to the naked eye, you see it more in a mirror (2D) or pictures. The smaller eye has a pupil that dilates larger in dim lighting, but it responds normally to direct light, evenly with the other eye.
Avatar n tn my 5 month old grandson's right pupil sometimes in certain light is larger than the left. what does this mean??
Avatar n tn At this point, I would recommend that you be seen by a pediatric cardiologist who specializes in fetal cardiology and have a fetal echocardiogram. That way, you can be assured of the complete diagnosis. With this, not only is the VSD evaluated, but also any other potential associated defects can be found.
Avatar f tn I personally think it's selfish and foolish to drink during pregnancy. Your putting your baby's health at risk and fetal development during the first trimester is crucial. Any alcohol use during pregnancy can result in a child being born with FASD. To me it's not worth the risks.
Avatar f tn The question is whether he is displaying delays in other aeas of his development (motor, social, emotional, cogniitve). The fact that his speech/language is not growing in spite of the intervention does invite concern. It would be wise to have him evaluated by a team of developmental specialists so that you gain an accurate pucture of his developmental status.
Avatar m tn the cavum vergae followed by the cavum septum pellucidum. Cavum septum pellucidum is a normal variant. Because it is filled with CSF, CSP is also sometimes referred to as the fifth ventricle; however, the most common type of CSP is not connected to the ventricular system, and the use of this term to refer to CSP should be discouraged. " So, if I am reading the medspeak correctly, it can be a normal variation - and if you read up further, it may have been there since birth.
Avatar f tn Ask about being on progesterone your levels shouldn't drop they should be rising progesterone helps with that it's good for all around fetal development and it strengthens your uterus and cervix ask about it right away to see if that is an option for you good luck mama

Avatar f tn No its not especially in the first trimester. Rapid development of babies major organs, brain and spinal cord happen in the first trimester. I hear some women have a small glass while pregnant personally I wouldnt but if you were to you should wait at least until the middle of the second trimester. Ask your doctor. It is currently not recommended that any alcohol be taken in while pregnant since FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) is not completely understood on when and how it all happens.
