fetal-development

Avatar f tn it is written on the ultrasound pictures. I supposed based on the fetal size, a statistic to check if they are growing normally.
757137 tn?1347196453 I had an appointment next week for my six-month visit to the doctor. But when I woke this morning I noticed that the gray patch had developed a very pale center. I then looked at a bright object. (Before this when I looked at a bright object it was like looking at a pencil flashlight - just bright whiteness without definition.) The bright object looked paler in the center with some definition. There was not doubt that something important was happening.
7678907 tn?1400809113 Not even an option where I'm from. There isn't any research on the effects of ultrasounds on fetal development so most doctors advice against elective scans. I don't see how any harm could come from it. It's just sound waves.
Avatar f tn The fetal heart undergoes a considerable amount of growth very early in pregnancy. The most critical period of its development is between three and seven weeks after fertilization, when a simple heart tube assumes the shape of a four-chambered heart. In fact, the heart actually begins beating by the 22nd day of life.
9663463 tn?1407525554 It might just be because they couldnt get all the pictures they needed? I have had one fetal echo so far to look at an echogenic focus. Its a bright spot. I go back again this week (27weeks) to look at it again and rule out if it is a possible tumor which I am praying it is not. Its a simple procedure.
Avatar f tn m 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
Avatar m tn My pregnancy : My pregnancy was complicated with high BP diagnosed 1 month before due date and preeclampsia one day before delivery. I didn't used any drugs for BP. I had an UTI and cold in 4th month of gestation for which i used Sudafed and Nitrofurantoin. And i used multivitamin pills and Iron pills. Her past medical history : She is full term baby delivered by c-section with birth weight of 7.12lbs.
Avatar f tn I personally think it's selfish and foolish to drink during pregnancy. Your putting your baby's health at risk and fetal development during the first trimester is crucial. Any alcohol use during pregnancy can result in a child being born with FASD. To me it's not worth the risks.
1349241 tn?1316004958 Then it increases at an amazing rate, at about 3 beats per minute per day during the first month! Then again after 9th week, it settles down to about 150 bpm (average) at around 12th week.
Avatar f tn Just dont smoke, drink, do drugs, be careful about medications you take thats it. Dont worry too much about foods you eat or drink. One or two cups of coffee/tea is fine. Just reduce the intake.
Avatar f tn No its not especially in the first trimester. Rapid development of babies major organs, brain and spinal cord happen in the first trimester. I hear some women have a small glass while pregnant personally I wouldnt but if you were to you should wait at least until the middle of the second trimester. Ask your doctor. It is currently not recommended that any alcohol be taken in while pregnant since FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) is not completely understood on when and how it all happens.
Avatar m tn Although the exact cause of Chiari Malformation is unknown, it is thougt that a problem during fetal development may cause the abnormal brain formation. Chiari malformation may be caused by exposure to harmful substances during fetal development or associated with genetic problems or syndromes that may have a tendency to run in families.
Avatar f tn Concerning motor development, progression is more important than timing. If each month your infant has been getting more and more of her body off the ground -- such as going from crawling to standing to cruising (walking while holding onto furniture) -- this is a normal progression regardless of the timing. "Your baby's doctor will focus not only on her motor development, but on the development of all her other skills, such as hand, language, and social skills.
Avatar f tn The baby only measured 1cm which from my research isnt as big as most are this far long however Im not panicking about that as Ive been told all fetal development is different. Ive also taken some comfort in how nauseated ive been which to me is a good sign, but not so fun! So as of now I am relaxed and excited!!
Avatar f tn My 1st appointment w/ the maternal/fetal specialist is coming up. Iam only seeing this doctor due to "advanced maternal age", no problems. Wondering what to expect at this appointment. Seeing my OB the same day, so looking forward to him explaining more to me but just thought I'd get some other mom's experiences. Thanks!
Avatar n tn She said that the gestational and yolk sacs were visible but I will need to make an appointment in a week to come back to see the fetal pole and heartbeat, that it is just too soon to tell. She never mentioned what the two white dots inside the gestational sac were. Was it my baby, more than one, the beginnings of the fetal pole? Anyone know, or is it too early to know? Do the dots indicate fetal matter? Would she have been able to see anything inside this early?
511778 tn?1222823285 I am now 9 days overdue and had a fetal assessment done today. They said the baby is fine. Placenta looks good and enough water in there still. I have to do another one in 2 days to see if it will be still be ok for the weekend. We will talk about an induction on Monday which is 14 days overdue. I did not look at the ultrasound because I still want to be surprised on the sex. At the end, she gave me a 3D Picture though of the face (maybe it was 4D). Anyhow, the picture scared me.
