I found out at 15 weeks, but there are some techs that will render a guess earlier with the "nub" theory. However, it is not an exact science by any means.
Google "angle of the dangle theory" and you will get some pictures of boys and girls at early stages of development at around 12 weeks, pretty interesting to me.
But more importantly, once she does become pregnant, low thyroid hormones will definitely impact the developing fetus. The earliest stages of fetal development is the time when it is most critical for the mother to have sufficient thyroid hormone.

Puberty occurs in two separate stages, genital (penis and testicle) development and pubic hair development. We number each of these stages 1-5, 1 being child and 5 being adult. That means 2-3-4 are the stages of puberty. Depending on your development, a number is assigned to genital development (G) and a number is assigned to pubic hair development (P).
For example, if you have just started growing hair you might be stage P2. It's possible to be P2 and still be G1.
m 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? If you were my patient, I would advise you that you can post the pictures on the web and then post a link in the forum if you want me to take a look. BUT your own doctor and sonographer are going to be much better equipped to tell you what is going on. There are certain stages that a normal pregnancy should follow, for example, the gestational sac should grow, then the yolk sac, then the fetal pole and heart beat.
Have you taken them with you to the doctor to hear the heartbeat? With each of our kids (I'm pregnant with my fourth and there's about 18 months between each kid) we had them listen to the heartbeat and told them it was a little brother/sister. We told them the name and encouraged them to call the baby that, had them feel any movements they could, and showed them pictures of what the baby looks like at different stages of development.
The baby only measured 1cm which from my research isnt as big as most are this far long however Im not panicking about that as Ive been told all fetal development is different. Ive also taken some comfort in how nauseated ive been which to me is a good sign, but not so fun! So as of now I am relaxed and excited!!
She said that the gestational and yolk sacs were visible but I will need to make an appointment in a week to come back to see the fetal pole and heartbeat, that it is just too soon to tell. She never mentioned what the two white dots inside the gestational sac were. Was it my baby, more than one, the beginnings of the fetal pole? Anyone know, or is it too early to know? Do the dots indicate fetal matter? Would she have been able to see anything inside this early?

If you break embryonic and fetal development into thirds then when you are in your 28th week the baby begins its final third of development. (Gestation is 266 days or 38 weeks of development). So either way you look at it you are in your 3rd trimester!
