Common Questions and Answers about Fetal development of your baby

fetal-development

Avatar n tn This is her second pregnancy and she was told today that the baby had a cyst on the right side of the brain. Can someone tell me what this means?
Avatar f tn I personally think it's selfish and foolish to drink during pregnancy. Your putting your baby's health at risk and fetal development during the first trimester is crucial. Any alcohol use during pregnancy can result in a child being born with FASD. To me it's not worth the risks.
Avatar f tn The fetal heart undergoes a considerable amount of growth very early in pregnancy. The most critical period of its development is between three and seven weeks after fertilization, when a simple heart tube assumes the shape of a four-chambered heart. In fact, the heart actually begins beating by the 22nd day of life.
Avatar f tn is important to fetal lung development. The fetus gets all of its oxygen and nutrients through the placenta and umbilical cord---a process called fetal circulation. Read more: http://www.livestrong.
Avatar n tn If you break embryonic and fetal development into thirds then when you are in your 28th week the baby begins its final third of development. (Gestation is 266 days or 38 weeks of development). So either way you look at it you are in your 3rd trimester!
Avatar f tn Hi! Yes, that is too early to see a fetal pole or cardiac activity. In ten days, you should see a nice change with development of a little "grain of rice" with a tiny flickering heart beat. I wish you the best!
Avatar m tn When I had my 5-day FET, I was wondering how early was too early to test also. I tested 5 days post transfer with a hpt and got a negative. But both of my betas were positive, so it must have been too early. Now I am 14 weeks pregnant! :) During this time, my friend sent me the following information, which was SUPER helpful! Hopefully it will help you too. Best of luck and lots of baby dust!! What Happens After an Embryo Transfer?
Avatar f tn The fetal brain may create these cysts as a normal part of development. They are temporary and usually are gone by the 32nd week of pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Hello, Doxycycline, like other tetracycline-class antibiotics, can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman. The use of drugs of the tetracycline-class during tooth development (last half of pregnancy, infancy, and childhood up to the age of 8 years) may cause permanent discoloration of the teeth (yellow-gray-brown).
Avatar f tn m 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
Avatar m tn There is no safe amount of alcohol you can drink. Fetal brain development damage can occur with just one drink.
Avatar f tn I'm sorry your feeling scared. The unknown is just awful. A babies heartbeat can be detected by ultrasound anywhere from 5 1/2 to 7 weeks. It can depend on the equipment, the skill of the tech and a host of other things. So it doesn't mean the fetal pole and heartbeat aren't there, just that they could not be detected. Unfortunately the only thing you can really do now is wait. A follow up u/s should be done in about a week and that should give you your answers.
Avatar f tn Does anyone get fetal hiccups a lot? It seems like my baby gets them a lot. It worries me because I can't remember my other two babies having them as much.
Avatar f tn I asked my doctor, because my 21st birthday is a couple weeks before my due date lol and I really wanna have one to celebrate. She said having a glass of wine from time to time in your second and third trimester is perfectly fine. Obviously no beer or liquor. It's one glass in like a month, people are way too paranoid. Some women smoke cigarettes but claim wine is worse lol. Just ask your OB and see what they say. But definitely wait til you're out of your first trimester!!!
1133565 tn?1261315212 i went for my first scan 2 days ago where i found out i was 6 weeks and 4 days. the docter never told me the rate of the heartbeat but did show me on the screen. 'my baby' measured 8mm at this stage is that normal? because ev everyone im speaking to says it is far too big and should be around 5mm.
