Avatar m tn I have noticed since I began taking fenofibrate that I experience cloudy urine after I eat certain foods. It only happens the first time I uninate after eating these foods and becomes clear thereafter. It seems that it is triggered with creamy and greasy foods. Is there cause for concern? Thank you.
Avatar n tn Fenofibrate in combination with a Statin drug can cause severe Rhabdomyolysis. I know because I have gone through it. My muscle pain got so severe that I couldn't even move my arms and I wound up in the ER with kidney (also a muscle) pain so severe, I was climbing the walls.
Avatar f tn Also, the additional med that your doctor was talking about is most likely a fenofibrate like Tricor which is commonly added to a statin med. I am on both and they have worked very well for me with no side effects.
Avatar n tn Ever since I started taking Zetia and Fenofibrate together as recommended by my DR, I have put on pounds, am more bloated around the belly,a nd have persistent chest pains. I noticed this has occurred ever since I have been on cholesterol lowering meds, but is more noticeable in the past year with the new combination of drugs. I mentioned this to my DR and he said I need the drugs because of my High Cholesterol. What do you think?
Avatar m tn my mother,55y, she got her lab result with rising in cholesterol and triglyceride about 3month ago. she started to take fenofibrate 200mg once a day. and now new lab result show normal range of all types of fat. does she need to continue with a maintenance dose of fenofibrate or it isnt necessary?
315318 tn?1353251800 Recently , I was prescribed a fenofibrate (Trilipix 135 mg) along with Crestor. My cardio wanted this for helping in getting my triglycerides down. I have not had a lipid profile done since starting on this med two months ago. However, since being a diabetic , I check my blood glucose (BG) many times during the day and what I am noticing is a clear trend in the BG numbers going lower at least over the last month or so.
Avatar m tn Fish oils contains both docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) which are proven in many studies to lower trigs. They slow down the build of artery plaques, reduce the risk of stroke and many other health issues. I think it would be wiser to buy capsules because some fish (thanks to environment poisoning) can contain methylmercury and other chemicals. The label on the packaging will state what forms of omega 3 supplements are contained in the capsules.
Avatar n tn doctor has adviced me to take rosuvastatin and fenofibrate tablets.can you please tell me whether it helps to reduce weight?
Avatar n tn Your numbers are high, but you need to look at the breakdown. First off, your TGL's should be under 150. Not hard, just cut out the empty carbs like breads, sugars, pastas etc. Also, drinking will elevate your TGL's so don't over do it. You could start on a Fenofibrate like Tricor to lower your TGL's it works well. A statin will not really do that much.
Avatar n tn You can google the warnings and side effects of that one. I also take Tricor for my hyperlipidemia. But that is a fenofibrate, not a statin. Have you ever tried the grandfather of statins, Lipitor? Talk to your doctor and get the straight answers.
Avatar m tn Exercise will help increase your HDL which should be over 40. Make sure to ask your doctor before starting any exercise. You can also as about a fenofibrate, they are very effective at lowering your TGLs.
Avatar f tn Meds I am currently on are levothyroxine and fenofibrate. I was on buspirone but just quit that a few days ago. I did have this happen one other time a few weeks ago, but the second time after that everything was normal, so I wasn't worried. I believe at that time I was off the meds or just starting them.
Avatar m tn s are easy to lower, cut back on all sugars, breads, pastas and alcohol, that usually is enough. If not, you can try a Fenofibrate which is a very effective drug.
Avatar m tn Hi I was recently prescribed Fenofibrate to help reduce my high cholesterol levels etc... after a blood test. I have been doing some digging around regarding the drug and it says I should not be taking it if one has Hep B. I haven't found what the reasons are so I was wondering if someone could elaborate why one should not be taking it if one has Hep B. Thanks so much for your help.

9109315 tn?1408617920 @nannewmom actually for me the Oj calms the acid down, (of all people, my grandfather suggested it) and I was just thinking the other day how the best stock to buy into is Tums. Some days it's like popping them like candy. I'll absolutely try ice water instead of always room temp. That maybe the fix! @2ndtimemoma927 I will have to check into the coconut water. I've tried it in the past, and it's just to sweet for me. Maybe I'll get a different brand or something.
Avatar n tn Then again in Feb 2012 his TGL was 289.He took medicine fenofibrate for about a month. His TGL in June2012 was 319 and in Dec 2012 was 370. But weight was 66.5kg .He took again fenofibrate for 1.5 months and with diet strictly avoiding sugar and low fat almost fat free . Now in March2013 the TGL level is down by about 100 points but again in the last 2.5 months there has been weight loss and wt is down to 63.8 ie about 64 kg. Weight reduced by 2 kg in such a short time again. WHY?
1972798 tn?1355549267 i know its normal for milk to come up when they burp- it comes up with the air but i really dont know where the line gets drawn between whats normal for a little one VS acid reflux? best bet is to talk to the Dr... but on that note i think it also depends on the Dr as well so if your really concerned about it and the Dr isnt it doesnt hurt to get a second opinion As far as your little ones weight goes, im pretty interested in how much she will weigh at this next appointment...
Avatar n tn why can't his HDL and LDL be calculated?
Avatar n tn I was recently treated for a single anal wart using trichloroacetic acid. Above my wart was a small, open sore. I recently shaved my entire pubic area and was convinced that's what it was from. Now I am not sure, because he still hasn't gone away. It bleeds if there is friction, and when I dab it with toilet paper, the blood is mixed with a somewhat-sticky, slightly yellow-tinted liquid.
Avatar f tn If a patient prefers it at bedtime vs morning, then that is another issue or if the nurse thinks the patient should have this medication in the morning vs giving it later at bedtime because the situation warrants that, she can do that too.
Avatar f tn Yup. Its the old acid vs base trick. Your heartburn is acid in your esophagus and any form of base would work to coat it. Avoid orange juice, lemonade and spicey foods. Crackers, bread and any form of milk will help. I suggest investing in some zantac. My doctor said its safer than tums or rolaids, as they can damage the lining of your esophagus when taken for a prolonged period.
