femara with iui

My question is. Is there any one who has taken just femara with out IUI and fallen pregnant? Just tradtional BD? I am considering doing this as i have one course of femara left but dont want to do the iui its too much pressure. Please let me know if you have had any succuess and what you did. my cycle is a 31 day..

so i did just femara 2.5mg first month with IUI (but i have many issues.. one working ovary - the other was destroyed from severe endo, pcos, LUFS - where my follicles dont' even rupture!GRR) and we have our male factor (2%morphology). so we had a slim chance, but the RE said it was possible! well no follies ruptured the first cycle, and only one of two the second, so they moved me up to injectables (follistim) and i had three follies and 2 ruptured.. IUI and we got preg!!!

Femara 5 mg for days 2 - 6 shortens my cycle by about 1 week (ovulate about day 14 instead of around day 20-21). My previous femara cycle resulted in my second daughter (with IUI). Am in middle of a new cycle now and did the IUI 2 days ago. So TWW for now.

Hi there-I was on clomid 2 months with IUI and trigger-only had 2 follicles both times. I was on Femara this month, trigger and IUI and I had 6 follicles. I also took it on 4-8. So, for me, femara worked much better. I didn't do Menopur. I am in my 2ww and will find out on Tuesday. I wish you all the best!

ve Only Tried One cycle Of Clomid And Did Ovulate With It Before My Dr Switched Me To Femara. Provera Induced Period, Cd 2, Start Femara 2.5Mg Tomorrow. Anyone Ever Have Success With Femara With No Pcos Or Iui?

Now my doctor wants me to take Femara and try the IUI with HCG trigger shot. When will the shot be given if I ovulate D14 or D15 usually? Will they wait until then or do the shot earlier? Can they miss it if they schedule it too late?

I see trhat my follicles grow very rapidly with Femara. My lead follicle was 32 mm on CD14 in the last cycle, so my RE asked me to come in early in the next. So in my second cycle I went in on CD12 and found my follicle was 28 mm, that's when they gave me trigger shot this time. My question is that am I not supposed to get a LH surge when the follicle grows like 18-22mm and then I should be ovulating. Why at both times I did not get a surge at that size and why did I not ovulate.

well unfortuantely it came back more than mildly abnormal so we are going to do IUI right off the bat (I just had a lap three months ago with most of one of my ovaries removed and diagnosed with severe endo, so we gotta be aggressive before the endo comes back with a vengence!). I'd say ask your RE about IUI, it can't hurt thats for sure! Good luck!!

m on my way to have a trigger shot for an IUI tomorrow after getting a helluva period out of nowhere with no medical intervention and then taking 7.5 mg femara days 5-9. I had an ultra sound on day 15 (yesterday) and I wasn't expecting much. Nothing ever seems to work and I usually get bad news with ultra sounds. I had literally stopped trying to be optimistic. This will be my 2nd iui and this will be my third cycle on femara. I cycle on femara with iui, one cycle just femara and this cycle on femara with hopefully iui around the 30th, 1st or 2nd(weekend). We have been ttc for over 2yrs and have unexplained infertility. All of our blood work and tests and u/s are perfect. Our sperm is perfect and eggs and uterus look great. I was just looking for others that are going thru the same thing so we could support each other!!

Has anyone taken femara w/o IUI and had any luck? Any advice? What kind of side effects should i expect with femara?

m just finishing my period now and will start up with the Femara again next month. I had a few headaches but also got lots of EWCM. How long have you been on it?

I ovulate on Clomid - but did not on Femara. I will start Femara again, maybe a higher dose this time with trigger and IUI! Hoping it works this time - but that is pretty much all my RE is prescribing now, he loves it!

It all depends I took femara one cycle with injectable (ovidrel) & an iui & worked on the first try. I'm 5 weeks & 3 days today. Clomid works but not for everyone clomid often thickens the cervical mucus which makes it hard for the sperm to swim to contect to the egg. I was taking tussin as well my last cycle of clomid but it didn't work. I had 6 cycles of clomid three solo & three with iui's. I wish you the best of luck.

we also have used femara, for quite a few cycles now! we have had two pregnancies (with femara +follistim and IUI) but miscarried unfortunately : ( it does have great results though, its great for endometriosis patients too, since it does overproduce estrogen like some medications..

It happend to be day one of AF. My doctor wants to do IUI this cycle with femara. I go back on Jan 12 for U/S. My question is would you get your trigger shot on the day of the u/s if there are good follies or is it common to have multiple U/S's if the follies aren't ready? And then when do you go back for the procedure? I have read a lot of people go back within 36 hours. We live over an hour from the RE. Has anyone been in this situation?

My RE gave me an Rx for the highest dosage of Femara in preperation for an IUI. We can no longer afford the IUI, but I would still like to take the Femara and try the "old fashinioned" way. I'm just wondering what to expect? I have done several rounds of Clomid and two rounds of 5mg of Femara (with one cycle ending in cysts). I had little to no side effects. Is it safe to take this highest dosage without going in for the pre-O u/s to check the follies?

Hello! lots of people on here have gotten preggo with IUI's! We did two cycles of femara + IUI and then the third and final one (right before we moved to IVF) we used follistim injectables +femara and got preg! unfortuantely miscarried at 9.5 weeks : ( but it did work! which is huge! we were told we had pretyt much no chance without IVF! so we were so excited!

HI, I am on my first IUI cycle and have the IUI tomorrow. I started on follastim with a HCG trigger and I have talked to so many people on here who got a BFP with their injectables and IUI. - First time as well. (to mom of three) - My RE says injectables have much higher success rates than clomid, (and multiples as you said) but they're really good with them and taper the doses to your needs. The only bummer is scans and bloodwork every 2 days, even at weekends.

femara + follistim injectables worked for us several times (we did miscarry though) i used 5mg femara days 3-7 and follistim days 3, 5, 7 and 9 ...with IUI.. GOOD LUCK!!! it works for a lot of people!

Was your uterine lining thin before the Clomid. I hope this IUI works for you. I am in the dreaded TWW too.

s low and must have another tomorrow and see if it increases or else he would cancel the IUI . So does Femara causes a drop in the E2 level? Is this normal?it's my very first time to use Femara! Any help will be appreciated !

I had my first IUI on August 17th. I did Femara and the trigger shot. I'm suppose to take a test on the 31st. I hate waiting!!!! Good luck!
