I took Femara and got pregnant when also doing injections. I had unexplained infertility. It appeared my eggs were not maturing on their own and I kept getting cysts. I am now 19 weeks pregnant. My treatment was femara, injection for 3 days, HCG shot and IUI. Your doctor will find a treatment that will work for you. Keep your hopes up. I remember choosing to not be stressed out about whether I was going to get a positive or not and it worked for me. Good Luck!!!

I had success my 2nd month on femara. Sadly that pregnancy ended at 11 1/2 weeks. Don't really know why. Before that I had done clomid/iui's, ivf with chemical pregnancy, and failed fet. With the femara we were also trying "naturally", so i do think it can work well. I am now on my third round of it again after my mc. Hoping for a bfp on Christmas, if not then i am moving on to injectables. Good luck with the femara!!

I just finished my 5th cycle of clomid (waiting for af to show..got negative beta on Wed.). My lining was so thin last cycle (4.2 on day of trigger) that my RE took me off the clomid. I asked about doing femara for this next cycle but she doesn't use it in her practice anymore because she had low success rates with it.

IIf you do have unexplained infertility it doesn't mean that you can't have a baby. I have unexplained infertility, all tests point to healthy eggs, ovaries, and I ovulate. Are you seeing an RE? I went to a gyno for 11 months and he had me on Femara. I went to an RE and was pregnant within 3 months, he increased my doesage and ordered a trigger with timed BD. Have you had an HSG?

my gn says i have unexplained infertility, ive been ttc for 2yrs on femara and ovidrol, been waiting to do an IUI for the past 3cycles , but there was X mas then i had a laproscopy to see if they could find anything, and nothing, then my gn went away for 3 weeks so finally hes back, feb 25th , im doing thed IUI next cycle for sure, i had a child when i was 16 and my parents raised him, now im 35 and married and dying to be a mother, i lost my right tube 14 yrs ago in an etopic preg but havent go

I feel like the Goldilocks of infertility) my RE put me on 5mg of Femara (letrozole) CD 3-7 this month. Per my Clearblue Easy Fertility monitor, it's been game on with the hubs this week. The 2WW starts this weekend. Clomid side effects were awful (hot flashes, mood swings, nausea). Not too bad with Femara - just some hot flashes. I'd love to know if you have success with Femara. t afford the IUI quite yet. My main question is has anyone heard of success with ONLY clomid and low morph?? She did end up giving me a prescription but I am debating if I should even fill it...?!? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Have asked before but want to hear of any positive stories using letrozole(femara) to help with ovulation, this drug is primarily a drug used to help with breast cancer and is still in research stage for fertility problems, my dr is talking with other gp's because is not happy to prescribe it to me.

Endometriosis can be worsened(or improved) by hormonal manipulation. I would start with a medication such as Clomid or Femara. Good luck!

I am just wondering if anyone has taken Femara to try and get pregnant. I just finished taking Clomid for three months and no pregancy. I had a lap and am going to start taking Femara to try and concieve. Hopefully this works. I am just wondering if anyone else has taken Femara and what it was like ie side effects/pregnancy?! We TTC for over 36 months before we finally got referred to do an IUI with Femara. Initially they told us that there were no issues that they could see (based on a couple blood tests, a sperm analysis, and normal annual exams for me). I finally demanded to be referred to a specialist (RE) and we DID have issues (both of us) preventing us from getting PG. I am not saying either of you have issues, I am just saying that the light at the end of the tunnel is not out for you.

The RE will probably want to run some tests to figure out the cause of your infertility. Then you can discuss the treatment options you have. Good luck!

hello! we just had success with femara (and injectables) and we have endo, pcos and male factor! we did do IUI... however we may be losing this pregnancy (in the waiting game right now) as far as side effects, i didn't have many at all, and it actually can increase cervical mucus unlike clomid. and it does have a short half life so birth defects shouldn't be a worry!. a lot of people have success stories on this! good luck!

Unexplained infertility for 1.5 years. I am not sure what could be the reason for my infertility , it might be endo but they didn't do a laparo for me yet. If anyone can tell me what other options do I have if Clomid failed?? So what worked for you ?

Hey thats fine....So I hope the shower went okay...I dread going to those things...But I do go to them...Yeah I did somemore researching on the med femara...And I have read alot of success stories for women that didn't respond very well using clomid...So i also did some more digging and found a 30 day risk free trial of the femara...Yay...That will last me for 3 months...Hope I don't need to take it that long, though...By doing that free trial it saved me $120 a month...Yippee...

It happend to be day one of AF. My doctor wants to do IUI this cycle with femara. I go back on Jan 12 for U/S. My question is would you get your trigger shot on the day of the u/s if there are good follies or is it common to have multiple U/S's if the follies aren't ready? And then when do you go back for the procedure? I have read a lot of people go back within 36 hours. We live over an hour from the RE. Has anyone been in this situation?

well i recieved my negative beta today and they want me to do a cycle of letrozole or femara which is an oral pill simliar to clomid.. my question is has anyone ever tried this med before, any side effects and any success..

Hi! Most good infertility clinics have counselors who actively work with the patients when they get to the point that you are at, and many patients do! So I would highly recommend that you find a good counselor first of all! Other things that have worked for people include taking a break for awhile, or even giving up--and adopting. For some reason it seems that the harder you DON;T try, the better your odds!

hey i havent been on for a few months either, was also taking a break. I did 3 rounds of clomid and natural no luck. then we did 2 rounds of femara (letrezole) with and iui, unfortunately no luck....so we took 3 months off, now repeat semen analysis and if the counts are up, injectables to up the odds, if they havent changed we are thinking ivf....
